It is easy to access over the phone and computer. I like that Edocs automatically transfer to timekeeper

Cons

The nurses are not able to view previously entered reports trend like weight and Vital signs on Edocs without having to open a new comprehensive visit note

### "Great, but could be better. "

Mixed. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it freezes and lags, and doesn’t update. The PTO calculator is awesome for future planning!

Pros

I like that the app links with eDocs and things can be pre-filled in, which saves time. I also like that you can add in PTO and holidays before they actually happen, making it easier to keep track of days/things happening. I also love the PTO calculator!

Cons

The app can lag a bit sometimes, and doesn’t always refresh with what information you just entered. Sometimes I have to flip back and forth between days for something that I entered to appear on the day that I entered it.

Have trouble completing "tickets" and the ticket numbers as emails and no calls or attempts from HT to resolve matters.

Pros

Ease of use. Like to 360 tool for reports

Cons

Not always accurate measures for discharged, deceased or other patient discharges if names are not removed from ongoing dates. Needs a FIX as it compiles inaccurate information on quarterly reports. Would like also more detail in specific items, not just check boxes.

Hospice tools is easy to navigate and learn. It is hands down one of the best systems I have ever used for a job.

Pros

I like that Hospice Tools is easy to navigate. I enjoy how organized It is and you are able to assign and separate your patient's from other team members. It is easy to upload documents, such as advanced directives, which makes my job easier.

Cons

There is nothing I dislike about Hospice Tools. However, I think a neat suggestion would be getting notified when a care plan update is due.

Hospice Tools has made documentation for hospice clear and organized. There are ample categories for different disciplines to document in the same chart. Whenever I have had an issue, I have received quick help from the customer service team.

Pros

Tailored documentation for hospice rather than general home care nursing. I appreciate having so many categories/folders for different disciplines to upload documents, individual documentation, or care plans and treatment orders.

Cons

Wound care documentation does not allow for MASD classification. It would also be helpful if instead of discontinuing a medication and creating a whole new form, if a dose is being changed, you could just edit that specific medication's dose. This would save time in the field.

This is an Intuitive, user-friendly EMR designed specifically for use by hospice and palliative care teams.

Cons

It’s not very responsive for needed changes in documentation to reflect changes in regulation or improved best practice standards of care.

Pros

User-friendly with patient data at your fingertips. I can find patient and caregiver data, as well as employee information.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to search for patients by the caregiver's name. In a few instances, I was trying to find a patient; however, I only had the caregiver's name.

Timekeeper sometimes has a hard time finding a pt name when I do a "select pt' request (when doing an entry for travel)

Easy to navigate, able to look for a patient with just a few letters of first and last does a good match.

Cannot look up chart with DOB, At times it would be easier to locate patient with DOB, for faster assistance.

THE IDG UPDATES ARE CUMBERSOME. THE BILLING ASPECT WAS BEHIND AND DID NOT GO SMOOTHLY. THE STEP BY STEPS ARE NOT QUITE FLESHED OUT ENOUGH. WE MADE OUR OWN.

It's unfortunate that getting billing setup took longer than we'd like. When switching systems, given the clearinghouse and other requirements to process the change it can sometimes take longer and go less smoothly than expected. Luckily, we only have to do go through the setup process once and then the billing is smooth sailing. ### "Make your staff happy!"

The ease of charting; saves so much time for staff in the field. Very intuitive software. Customer service has been phenomenal. Hospice Tools is very receptive to suggestions for improvement.

Pros

Ease of use, customer service, training, everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive. The medicaid room and board billing used to be a nightmare with our previous EMR. Now it takes only minutes to complete! I really like the apps so information is always at your fingertips.

Cons

We have not yet been able to integrate with our PBM. This is not the fault of Hospice Tools, but it is still a challenge until we can convert to a new PBM that is easier to work with. Not being able to see previous patient vitals when completing a new assessment.

I like that it is easy to use, the cost is good, the billing is great, and the ticket responses are timely.

Cons

Not able to schedule and have notes attached to schedule department so we can run reports to see what documentation is missing. \*\*\*\*\*more people wound consider this software if it had the same scheduling privileges as axxess and kinnser.(wellsky).

Cherish as a company was thrilled with our experience. As well our CHAP surveyor told us that she has never seen such a user friendly software.

Pros

Onboarding of new staff members. The tech team is extremely helpful with any customizations needed.

Cons

I think the greatest challenge is that they don't have many integrations with other services. I know they are working with multiple venders and are constantly adding more integrations.

Pros

I like that it is hospice centered, easy to use and reminds you of what is necessary to enter for complete documentation.

Cons

That with the filter in the edoc notes the contents are not listed in alphabetical order. I have no other issues with Hospice Tools.

Overall I would describe my experience as positive and it is a simple system to learn to use and to become familiar with.

Pros

The simplicity of charting and the large text boxes that allow for free text and charting. It is easy to know what goes in each area of the chart and makes the notes easy to read and follow. The notes are easy to find with the search box and it is easy to get a list of all my current patients.

Cons

It can be glitchy at times and doesn't always allow me to save when I want to and can time out causing me to lose my notes.

The time out is a required HIPPA security feature so that a device with PHI and no activity does not stay open indefinitely. However, that document will be sent to your unfinished forms dashboard where it can be reopened with the information previously inputted intact so you don't have to start over. Hope this helps! From the first day at the unity I had not any issues to complete every forms on eDocs. Also I like it gives you opportunity to fix your mistakes and make amendments the documents.

Pros

The unity hospice eDocs application very easy to manage and document about the patient’s concerns and thoughts. It is very straightforward and you can fix your mistakes.

Cons

In my view cons are the application easily forgot you credentials and frequently asks you to change your password or require from you to log in again.

I feel it's a great program, that anyone can use. Allows you to add a lot of information for each patient, cutting down on having to search their chart for an answer through uploads.

Pros

I really enjoy the almost weekly updates, and how easy it is to navigate the app. It's user friendly for all skill levels.

Cons

I feel having to put the date of your upload in is a con, since it used to default to the date you're uploading on.

I as a part time volunteer for Unity Hospice for the WI office, I am new to Hospice Tools, and I am still learning all the new features of Hospice Tools and what is good of it. I use Hospice Tools to record my time that I am volunteering at the Unity Hospice at the WI office. I find it very valuable.

Cons

There is nothing that I can think of that I find Hospice Tools that is not good. I am using it for volunteer.

Hi Yamira, Thanks for taking the time to review Hospice Tools. While our forms can be customized extensively, allowing the system to become more personalized to how your agency operates and documents care, making those changes has impact across the system - IDG, Reports, other forms etc., and the testing that is required before releasing a requested change will often take longer than expected as there is more to it than just making the change in the form. We are happy to integrate with just about any 3rd party system that our clients use. Unfortunately hospice pharmacies are limited in their capabilities - they do not run off their own software, and do not integrate with EMRs the way PBMs do and there's really nothing we can do about that. We're happy to hear that overall it is user-friendly and works well for you and your team. Thx!

Thanks for the great review Tina! We've been upgrading the scheduler and if you look in the calendar under the schedule view, you should already see a number of new features, such as better frequency views, fq met or not by color code, and stackable quick scheduling. For now, you can put in the notes section under activity which docs but triggering docs from the calendar is a feature that's on it's way. Cert periods are shown in Intake screen, IDG, Cert Report, and auto flow into Cert forms. We are looking at tying that in closer with stops but want to balance that with the flexibility that's important to maintain in comfort care. We will let you know when that feature is updated. Thx!

### "Ease of use"

It has been very positive. I learn something new all the time when I have the free time to go into it and click on the different tabs.

Pros

I joined our team in February of this year. I was not familiar with hospice or the software we use. I have found that it is easy to use for a beginner. The tabs are easy to use and the information is easily found in the software. I like that we can pull up information on past patients easily and find the information that is needed.

Cons

I wish that if you spell something incorrectly or label it incorrectly that you are not able to modify it. You have to request to have it deleted and then upload it again.

Hi Susan, Thanks for the fantastic review! Re: edits for typos or other details, at the top left of the finished doc is an amend button that will allow you to do that so you don't have to request a full deletion and start over. Hope this helps! Thx!
