Sometimes it works great, sometimes it freezes and lags, and doesn’t update. The PTO calculator is awesome for future planning! Pros I like that the app links with eDocs and things can be pre-filled in, which saves time. I also like that you can add in PTO and holidays before they actually happen, making it easier to keep track of days/things happening. I also love the PTO calculator! Cons The app can lag a bit sometimes, and doesn’t always refresh with what information you just entered. Sometimes I have to flip back and forth between days for something that I entered to appear on the day that I entered it. Pros Ease of use. Like to 360 tool for reports Cons Not always accurate measures for discharged, deceased or other patient discharges if names are not removed from ongoing dates. Needs a FIX as it compiles inaccurate information on quarterly reports. Would like also more detail in specific items, not just check boxes. There are ample categories for different disciplines to document in the same chart. Whenever I have had an issue, I have received quick help from the customer service team. Pros Tailored documentation for hospice rather than general home care nursing. I appreciate having so many categories/folders for different disciplines to upload documents, individual documentation, or care plans and treatment orders. Cons Wound care documentation does not allow for MASD classification. It would also be helpful if instead of discontinuing a medication and creating a whole new form, if a dose is being changed, you could just edit that specific medication's dose. Pros The simplicity of charting and the large text boxes that allow for free text and charting. It is easy to know what goes in each area of the chart and makes the notes easy to read and follow. The notes are easy to find with the search box and it is easy to get a list of all my current patients. The time out is a required HIPPA security feature so that a device with PHI and no activity does not stay open indefinitely. It makes finding patient information very quick and accessible whether you need to do it on your phone on the go or at a desktop computer. Cons The amount of time before it times out and you need to log back in. The calendar seems to need to be re-loaded far too often and seems to move very slow. Have a lot of experienced hospice personnel on my team that like it overall better than other EMRs they've used, minus the lack of usability in the calendar and the lack of easily looking up data on a patient without having to run reports. Pros The team of people that get you set up are amazing and always available to help you moving forward and are quick to make sure our team has answers. Cons The lack of ebilling training. We felt very lost on how to use the ebilling area of the system and still a little confused by all the buttons and uses in the system. Also wish there was more of a "trend report" type data on the main screen of each patient to show quickly what the patients recent measurable values and data have been for documenting tracking and doing recert. Can use in the field as long as you have internet access. Cons cannot schedule out patient visits, cannot make corrections for clinician to review, assessments are not complete, very vague pages per section. Reason for choosing Hospice Tools I believed the sales guy who promised all these features. The contract states pretty much covers them if the sales rep offers a certain feature, they aren't responsible. Out of 70+ 3rd party reviews yours is the only one not 4 stars and almost all are 5 stars. Trying to figure out an EMR entirely on your own, even one as easy to use as Hospice Tools, is going to be frustrating. The points you list are all available: 1. cannot schedule out patient visits - we have scheduling with multiple views and filters & updates to frequencies too. 2. cannot make corrections for clinician to review - Documents can be amended and we have mentor mode for comments and approval of docs. We do not allow you to chart someone else's visit. 3. assessments are not complete, very vague pages - the documents are all customizable and we can add docs. Any "vague" language can be changed. No system is ever perfect and we keep improving, but without any training it will be hard to succeed. AT Alyse T. For volunteers, the visit note is easy to complete and submit, which means volunteers are more likely to complete their visit documentation in a timely manner. I also appreciate the customer service with . The 1:1 training to learn the program was helpful to me. In my experience, the HT customer service team typically responds to questions the same day. I even asked them to create a workflow for volunteers. (Yes, Hospice Tools is not complicated, but I like to give the volunteers written instructions as well.) I was surprised that they were able to create the workflow for me the same day. With another EMR company I worked with in the past, I sometimes didn't get a response to question until a week (or more) later and I had to create my own workflow to give the volunteers (for a program that wasn't nearly as user-friendly as Hospice Tools). The checkboxes make it a quick option for a fast paced work day. I am more inclined to get my daily charting completed on a timely manner since it no longer feels like a hassle. Also like that a reviewer can send back a note with a comment and can be checked out. Very helpful. Cons That visits have to be entered with specific times instead of generally assigned for the day. I would prefer an aide document for each assigned patient to appear on my Home Screen as well. The notes have days/times to mark when the visit was made as that info goes to the timesheets program and also goes to reports - such as capturing visit frequencies, and claims, where visit details are required by CMS. Having it in the document is typically much smoother than having to track and enter that information separately. The documents can be triggered to appear on your dashboard the day of the visit - if whoever schedules visits uses our scheduling feature, documents can be selected within the calendar to show up on your dashboard the day of the event.
