### "Postman useful tool for API adjacent development "

July 6, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Postman is quite good, its a simple but useful software for API usage and testing. I recommend it

Pros

Postman is a very useful software for testing out API connections and finding out the different inputs and outputs along with format. I use it quite a bit in development work before coding projects that use specific API's to get familiar with it and for debugging purposes. Using Postman for these purposes saves me a lot of time in development and in device testing. Overall Postman is very easy to use and efficient product with a simple UI and easy to understand formatting.

Cons

Postman's only cons in my use cases tend to be that sometimes it formats the inputs and outputs with spaces and markers that cannot be copy pasted in to C# or other code without manually editing it.

### "A Reliable All-in-One Tool for Modern API Development"

December 12, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Postman has been very positive. After more than three years of regular use, it has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool for developing and testing multiple REST APIs, and more recently, a GraphQL API. Its consistency, versatility, and maturity make it a dependable part of my daily development workflow.

Pros

Postman is an effective all-in-one tool for API development, supporting REST, GraphQL, and gRPC in a single interface. It streamlines the entire API workflow from building and testing requests to documentation and automation without requiring multiple tools. Environment management, scripting, and collaboration features make it efficient for both individual developers and teams.

Cons

The main limitation in for me is the lack of a fully functional offline mode. Many features depend on an active internet connection, which can be restrictive in low-connectivity environments or when working offline.

Alternatives considered

[Apidog](https://www.capterra.com/p/10019054/Apidog/)

Reason for choosing Postman

I chose Postman because it offers a more mature, stable, and polished experience compared to alternatives like Apidog. Postman’s interface, feature depth, and overall reliability better support complex, long-term API development workflows, making it more effective for everyday professional use.

### "Useful and reliable for API testing"

July 13, 2026

4.0

Overall, Postman is a reliable tool for developing and testing APIs. I use it to validate endpoints, troubleshoot request and response issues, and repeat common test flows. It saves time for more involved requests, although the UI can feel heavier than necessary for basic calls.

Pros

Postman makes it quick to test APIs, change request payloads, headers, and authentication, and inspect responses without writing a separate script each time. Collections and environments are also useful when testing the same endpoints across different setups.

Cons

The interface can feel cluttered once there are many collections, tabs, and environments open. Syncing or keeping shared collections organized can also become confusing, and for very simple checks I sometimes find curl easier.

### "FRUSTRATING, Mandatory registration !"

July 30, 2025

1.0

FRUSTRATING experience ! I would never ever recommend anyone to create an account to test something as simple as API. My usage is about once a month in last 12 months and forcing me to login is something I DO NOT WANT. Since they DO not have any feedback system, I am wasting so time to find a place to send them a message. POSTMAN used to be great please remove mandatory registration.

Pros

It is a good software, provides quick results for testing APIs and debugging things. Somewhat easy to use. I didn't need to read any documentation to use it.

Cons

FORCED ACCOUNT CREATION ! For testing a simple API they want to track your account. ONE OF THE WORST USER EXPERIENCE !!!!! I have been looking for a replacement for a long long time.

### "The go-to API tool for testing, environment management, and team collaboration"

April 23, 2026

5.0

Postman is an indispensable tool for our engineering team at NextDay. We use it to manage all our API collections, organize requests by environment, and run integration tests before deploying. The ability to have shared team workspaces means everyone has access to the latest collection versions. The environment variable management is one of the best features — it lets us switch between dev, AT, and production configurations instantly. The test scripting capabilities have helped us automate validation and catch regressions early in development.

Pros

Postman makes it extremely easy to build, test, and manage API collections. The environment management feature is excellent — switching between dev, staging, and production with a single click saves a lot of time. The team workspace allows everyone to share collections and stay in sync without duplicating work. The built-in test scripts with JavaScript support are powerful for writing integration tests directly in the tool.

Cons

The free plan has limitations on the number of requests per month that can be a constraint for teams with heavy usage. The UI can feel a bit cluttered when managing large collections with many nested folders. Some advanced features like monitors and mock servers are only available on paid plans.

### "Best API Testing Tool"

April 24, 2026

5.0

As a QA engineer, Postman has made API testing much simpler. Easy to set up, clean UI, and great for managing and automating tests. Integrating it with CI/CD using Newman was really useful. A few performance and pricing concerns, but overall it's the go-to tool for API testing and well worth it.

Pros

Collections and environment variables are the best part. I can group all my API requests together and switch between dev, staging, and production with just one click. Writing test scripts is simple, execution is fast, and the Collection Runner saves a lot of time during regression testing.

Cons

It gets slow when your workspace has too many collections. The free plan is limited and paid plans are a bit expensive for small teams. Also, team collaboration on shared collections can get confusing when multiple people are editing at the same time.

### "Useful for API and Integration tests"

April 9, 2026

4.0

Overall, it has saved our team a lot of time. AI is becoming more and more of a substitute for Postman now, but at least for the next little while, it will continue to be useful for API and integration testing.

Pros

Postman was easy to install and convenient with its Team option. We often used a shared harness to hit our backend and do api testing

Cons

There was some flakiness with retrieving jwt auth tokens (client credentials as well). Often times we would need to manually reset the tokens.

### "An Essential Tool for Any Developer Working with APIs"

August 31, 2025

4.0

Extremely positive. It’s one of those tools that feels indispensable once you’re used to it. Despite some performance quirks, it’s the gold standard for API work for a reason. It just works.

Pros

It completely eliminates the guesswork in API development. I can test endpoints, debug responses, and automate entire workflows without ever leaving the app. The collaboration features are a lifesaver – sharing a collection with a teammate is instant, and everyone always has the latest version. It’s made working with APIs faster and way more reliable.

Cons

The app can be a serious memory hog, especially with large workspace or long-running sessions. I also miss the simplicity of the older versions sometimes; the constant push toward the web app and new features can make it feel bloated. The learning curve for advanced scripting is also pretty steep.

### "API Endpoints Testing tool for developers"

October 15, 2025

5.0

I have been using Postman for two years, and it has helped me test the API's before using them in the application. The results have helped me to analyze and then modify my code if required depending on the requirements.

Pros

The setup for postman is very simple, and it is also available on various platforms like the desktop application or a website. Data could be sent to the server in different formats like Text, JSON, form-data, etc. Collaboration with other developers is also possible in Postman.

Cons

It can’t have HTML page viewer in the results along with the HTML code. Apart from this, I find Postman as a very useful tool for testing API's.

5.0

I've been using Postman for a long time now, and I’ve had a great experience with it. It has made my life as a developer much easier.

Pros

Postman simplifies the process of creating, testing, and documenting APIs. The APIs can be organized into Collections, which makes managing requests and documenting them easier and effortless. Workspaces enable efficient team collaboration, making it a versatile tool for both individual and collaborative development.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike about Postman. While the free tier has some limitations for collaboration, it hasn't been an issue for me.

### "Postman does everything a tool for API development needs to do and more!"

January 16, 2020

5.0

Postman is my tool of choice when working with APIs. It does offer most of the features one may need while also being easy to use and learn.

Pros

I am using the free version of Postman in my daily work as a software tester. It's the application I use for working with APIs and, for me, it offers most of the features I need while also being intuitive and having a pleasant UI. Regarding REST services, it does offer the functionalities anyone would expect for running the APIs, nothing special here - it does what a software used for running webservices should do. Postman stands out for me for the additional features it offers - posibilities to add multiple environments and variables based on those environments, a history tab with the requests and responses ran in the past, ability to write tests in app, ability to automatically run those tests (with some limitations for the free version), grouping collections under a workspace and then change through workspaces (in case there are multiple different projects a user has to work with), ability to export and share the collection and environment variables and possibility to run the tests within a CI system. Even though I barely used it for other types of services, I know that Postman works with SOAP and GraphQL too.

Cons

I would say that Postman is in a weird place with the "Team Workspaces" for the free version. For this, they offer 25 different calls that can be registered within the team. In every situation I was in, this number was too low, even for the smallest projects I worked with. It was never useful to start working within a team workspace because we were always getting to the point where the older calls were deleted because we were exceeding the limit. After a few tries, I gave up completely on this feature. Personally, a limit to 50 would have been more useful - I can understand this is their business model and they offer payed alternatives, but in my opinion the "Team Workspace" feature is not usable in the state which is now.

### "API test, sharing and release made easy."

January 6, 2023

5.0

It pretty well does it's basic an expected job very well and make it very convenient to developer fraternity to rely upon. So, generally it terms out to share the Postman collection sharing in development lifecycle instead any API document or anything and that pretty much makes life easier to follow and adopt.

Pros

It's ease of use and impact, without a end application/consumer in sight we can design, develop, test and make it ready for the various planned usage across platforms and use cases etc..Very much makes it close to 99.99% development and still some issues may arise in actual but either not at all or very minimal issues or so. So, makes development pretty much independent.

Cons

Nothing much as it does it's basic job very well. Very much skirting issues like CORS or such request failures which occurs in real life but can't be reproduced with Postman anytime.

I like this tool very much for API and Database testing and It is very easy to use and validation check is very important for this tool.

Pros

It is best tool for testing API's before integration as well as to check validation. We can easily know the Backend Database Validation as well as API responses and their time as well as input data in the form of Params , helps very much.

Cons

I do not see any major issue in this tool and it is best tool used by major Software Community. It is easy to handle and there is no drawback in this tool.

### "The gold standard for API development"

February 9, 2023

5.0

Web integration between web apps and writing data from web apps to web based databases.

Pros

The perfectly synced cloud version of the app with the desktop version make this an incredible app to use. Having all changes synced to all devices is very valuable and sets this as the gold standard for API design.

Cons

The free tier is good, especially if can limit yourself to a desktop version or fewer than 1000 calls per month in the cloud version. But wanting to jump to a next version requires payment for a team and a hard ceiling on the number of calls. Also, if you are using the free version and you run out of your 1000 calls allotment, there is no alert and no way to get more calls until the beginning of the next month.

### "Best platform for API design and testing."

March 9, 2023

5.0

my overall experience with postman has been great.

Pros

Postman is one of the best platforms for API design and testing, it has a very easy-to-use UI and it has great features which make API design and testing very easy. It also supports sharing the API collection which helps a lot.

Cons

The only thing that I dislike about postman is that if you don't have their premium plan then the shared API collection can be changed by anyone.

### "Perfect to be able to develop our API."

January 12, 2023

4.0

Thanks to Postman I have been able to develop a series of APIs, being able to know the output of my response and solving possible errors quickly and easily because you can check it in real time.

Pros

Once you know how Postman works, it is your best ally to develop and improve your API. It works very well and gives us the possibility to make several requests at the same time. Plus, it's free.

Cons

At first it can be a bit tricky to use.The data output may not be very attractive to look at.

### "Postman for API"

September 11, 2024

4.0

I use Postman to connect via API to firewall (and send commands). I like the interface and how it works. I usually write in Json and Postman helps me in avoiding mistakes. You should try Postman, you'll like it.

Pros

Postman can be used online but also installed on you pc. I actually I use it with my google account (so registration is fast). It's really useful when you need interaction via API, the interface is clean and easy to understand and the program runs smooth. Documentation is avalaible on internet. In the main page you see your recent works, you can have many sessions using tabs (you can also see the history just clicking on the icon on the left). Postman is free but you can also have paid plans in case of need (e.g. unlimited collaboration members).

Cons

Nothing to report about, a really good product, higly recommended

### "Postman for continuous cross-platform operation"

January 11, 2021

5.0

We are testing XML or JSON files with product catalogs that our suppliers are giving us to sync their products. We are testing our APIs that we provide to our affiliates. We find glitches and bugs to our apps by multiple tests. It's easier to build apps and APIs on Postman first and then to our websites and apps using code snippet generator.

Pros

I like the fact that everything is synced with my account to all my devices and it's compatible with all Operating Systems. The fact that I can import collections of featured services for testing (e.g. Zoho which we use heavily for our services) is very cool. I like Code snippet generator which helps me generating curl requests for different kind of projects. The API Documentation creator is saving us a lot of time when creating custom tools for services we provide to affiliates.

Cons

If there's one thing I can ask for is better tab management. When I open many tabs there is a mess on my workspace. I know I can create a new workspace or open a new Window, but if I could just group tabs it would be a life saver.

### "Fast API Tester"

September 24, 2019

5.0

I use it every day for rapid testing, and adds a lot of productivity for that. And being well organized, adds even more. Is surprising how well adapts to different protocols as ODATA for example. A must have for a web developer

Pros

As a software developer with many low code integrations, it is quite difficult for me to test isolated connections with different APIs. Althought there are many tools that do the same, Postman brings many features for the free version. It is very intuitive and does many things for you out of the box. Therefore, it is very useful for quick testing or simply as a playground for API discovery. It is very versatile for many authentication and protocol scenarios. And also a good way to organize your projects.

Cons

Maybe not an important thing, but is confusing have the chrome extension and the desktop version. Sometimes the default values does not follow the most reasonable logic, and get values from request and not the last one, or take the last one from a different workspace project.

### "One tool to do it all!"

August 16, 2022

5.0

Pros

\- Intuitive and aesthetic UI - Request method (GET/POST etc.) is color-coded making it easy to differentiate requests through mere glances - Sharing capability to make it easy to test APIs out with sample requests - Seamless collaborative features - Environments for sensitive information + sharing variables across requests so individual requests do not need to be edited, which helps save a lot of time - Ability to generate code snippets in various languages quickly - Lots of features in the free tier

Cons

\- Resource intensive, I occasionally need to restart the app because it slows my computer down - If you forget to save a request and duplicate it, the duplicate will have the saved version of the request (which makes sense) but the indicator for a dirty/unsaved file is very subtle (which does not make sense)
