### "Best API Testing Tool"

April 24, 2026

5.0

As a QA engineer, Postman has made API testing much simpler. Easy to set up, clean UI, and great for managing and automating tests. Integrating it with CI/CD using Newman was really useful. A few performance and pricing concerns, but overall it's the go-to tool for API testing and well worth it.

Pros

Collections and environment variables are the best part. I can group all my API requests together and switch between dev, staging, and production with just one click. Writing test scripts is simple, execution is fast, and the Collection Runner saves a lot of time during regression testing.

Cons

It gets slow when your workspace has too many collections. The free plan is limited and paid plans are a bit expensive for small teams. Also, team collaboration on shared collections can get confusing when multiple people are editing at the same time.

### "A Reliable All-in-One Tool for Modern API Development"

December 12, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Postman has been very positive. After more than three years of regular use, it has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool for developing and testing multiple REST APIs, and more recently, a GraphQL API. Its consistency, versatility, and maturity make it a dependable part of my daily development workflow.

Pros

Postman is an effective all-in-one tool for API development, supporting REST, GraphQL, and gRPC in a single interface. It streamlines the entire API workflow from building and testing requests to documentation and automation without requiring multiple tools. Environment management, scripting, and collaboration features make it efficient for both individual developers and teams.

Cons

The main limitation in for me is the lack of a fully functional offline mode. Many features depend on an active internet connection, which can be restrictive in low-connectivity environments or when working offline.

Alternatives considered

[Apidog](https://www.capterra.com/p/10019054/Apidog/)

Reason for choosing Postman

I chose Postman because it offers a more mature, stable, and polished experience compared to alternatives like Apidog. Postman’s interface, feature depth, and overall reliability better support complex, long-term API development workflows, making it more effective for everyday professional use.

### "The go-to API tool for testing, environment management, and team collaboration"

April 23, 2026

5.0

Postman is an indispensable tool for our engineering team at NextDay. We use it to manage all our API collections, organize requests by environment, and run integration tests before deploying. The ability to have shared team workspaces means everyone has access to the latest collection versions. The environment variable management is one of the best features — it lets us switch between dev, AT, and production configurations instantly. The test scripting capabilities have helped us automate validation and catch regressions early in development.

Pros

Postman makes it extremely easy to build, test, and manage API collections. The environment management feature is excellent — switching between dev, staging, and production with a single click saves a lot of time. The team workspace allows everyone to share collections and stay in sync without duplicating work. The built-in test scripts with JavaScript support are powerful for writing integration tests directly in the tool.

Cons

The free plan has limitations on the number of requests per month that can be a constraint for teams with heavy usage. The UI can feel a bit cluttered when managing large collections with many nested folders. Some advanced features like monitors and mock servers are only available on paid plans.

### "FRUSTRATING, Mandatory registration !"

July 30, 2025

1.0

FRUSTRATING experience ! I would never ever recommend anyone to create an account to test something as simple as API. My usage is about once a month in last 12 months and forcing me to login is something I DO NOT WANT. Since they DO not have any feedback system, I am wasting so time to find a place to send them a message. POSTMAN used to be great please remove mandatory registration.

Pros

It is a good software, provides quick results for testing APIs and debugging things. Somewhat easy to use. I didn't need to read any documentation to use it.

Cons

FORCED ACCOUNT CREATION ! For testing a simple API they want to track your account. ONE OF THE WORST USER EXPERIENCE !!!!! I have been looking for a replacement for a long long time.

### "An Essential Tool for Any Developer Working with APIs"

August 31, 2025

4.0

Extremely positive. It’s one of those tools that feels indispensable once you’re used to it. Despite some performance quirks, it’s the gold standard for API work for a reason. It just works.

Pros

It completely eliminates the guesswork in API development. I can test endpoints, debug responses, and automate entire workflows without ever leaving the app. The collaboration features are a lifesaver – sharing a collection with a teammate is instant, and everyone always has the latest version. It’s made working with APIs faster and way more reliable.

Cons

The app can be a serious memory hog, especially with large workspace or long-running sessions. I also miss the simplicity of the older versions sometimes; the constant push toward the web app and new features can make it feel bloated. The learning curve for advanced scripting is also pretty steep.

### "Useful for API and Integration tests"

April 9, 2026

4.0

Overall, it has saved our team a lot of time. AI is becoming more and more of a substitute for Postman now, but at least for the next little while, it will continue to be useful for API and integration testing.

Pros

Postman was easy to install and convenient with its Team option. We often used a shared harness to hit our backend and do api testing

Cons

There was some flakiness with retrieving jwt auth tokens (client credentials as well). Often times we would need to manually reset the tokens.

### "API Endpoints Testing tool for developers"

October 15, 2025

5.0

I have been using Postman for two years, and it has helped me test the API's before using them in the application. The results have helped me to analyze and then modify my code if required depending on the requirements.

Pros

The setup for postman is very simple, and it is also available on various platforms like the desktop application or a website. Data could be sent to the server in different formats like Text, JSON, form-data, etc. Collaboration with other developers is also possible in Postman.

Cons

It can’t have HTML page viewer in the results along with the HTML code. Apart from this, I find Postman as a very useful tool for testing API's.

### "A Must-Have Tool for API Development, Testing and Collaboration"

November 27, 2024

5.0

I've been using Postman for a long time now, and I’ve had a great experience with it. It has made my life as a developer much easier.

Pros

Postman simplifies the process of creating, testing, and documenting APIs. The APIs can be organized into Collections, which makes managing requests and documenting them easier and effortless. Workspaces enable efficient team collaboration, making it a versatile tool for both individual and collaborative development.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike about Postman. While the free tier has some limitations for collaboration, it hasn't been an issue for me.

### "Postman for API"

September 11, 2024

4.0

I use Postman to connect via API to firewall (and send commands). I like the interface and how it works. I usually write in Json and Postman helps me in avoiding mistakes. You should try Postman, you'll like it.

Pros

Postman can be used online but also installed on you pc. I actually I use it with my google account (so registration is fast). It's really useful when you need interaction via API, the interface is clean and easy to understand and the program runs smooth. Documentation is avalaible on internet. In the main page you see your recent works, you can have many sessions using tabs (you can also see the history just clicking on the icon on the left). Postman is free but you can also have paid plans in case of need (e.g. unlimited collaboration members).

Cons

Nothing to report about, a really good product, higly recommended

### "A user-friendly, comprehensive API testing tool"

June 10, 2022

5.0

I must admit that Postman is the best API testing tool I encountered up till now. It is comprehensive, with a load of features and great documentation. I don't recall any bugs with it throughout the years and despite I tried a variety of other software I always came back to Postman. Import and exports in the program are ridiculously easy. Requests, snippets, and even collections may be imported/exported with a couple of clicks. It makes configuration sharing incredibly simple. With its clarity and ease of use, it is worth trying!

Pros

The thing I like most about Postman is its clarity and ease of use. All basic functionalities are visibly described and ready to run within a couple of seconds. HTTP requests are the most important thing in the software, and they are working correctly, without any bugs. Of course, all requests are fully customizable, starting with core items like headers, authorizations, query parameters, and different payload types, through more advanced, such as scripts executed before the request and tests run after the response is received, finishing on the most advanced items like requests settings (e.g. following redirects) and cookies management. User can save requests and their configuration in collections, which makes rerunning tests and requests fast and organized. The possibility to define environments and APIs reduces the necessity of switching between different accounts or even rewriting needed data. A user can add documentation using defined requests and even comments describing e.g. TODO details. Also, automatic HTTP code snippet generation is extremely useful, especially when various languages are used on the backend side. The paid version of the tool offers more functionalities, like sharing the work between teams or constant API monitoring, which influence everyday work simplifying it significantly. The price is not too exorbitant, so it should not be a problem for the majority of companies. I also like the documentation, which contains all the necessary information.

Cons

To tell the truth, I cannot really find any flaws in Postman. I am working with it for over 3 years and I don't recall any problems or bugs with it. The only thing that can be better is the history of executed requests. It would be useful to be able to store more records from the past.

### "Postman simplifies building APIs. Save yourself the time and dev dollars--use it!"

January 11, 2023

4.0

Positive. There's not really another app that does what Postman does as well as it does it, so will continue to use it. Great job to the Developers; they've built something that's highly useful to a large number of people!

Pros

It's become our go-to software for developing, testing/debugging and deploying APIs to our AWS Cloud infrastructure accounts. We work in several distributed teams where the code gets written quickly and changed frequently, so we're members of a Postman workspace where the requests update automatically after they're saved (probably my favorite feature).

Cons

Workspaces have a limited number of seats, and it gets expensive quickly. Environment variables in a shared workspace get messy quickly, and there's no way to search or pin them if you're dealing with 100+ of them. Their docs on variables and their JavaScript API is a little confusing and don't work exactly as they describe them, especially when writing integration tests. There have been times where we've lost variables we've saved, and we had to start backing them up offline and re-importing them.

### "A Very Good Rest Client"

February 23, 2023

5.0

Overall I am very happy to use Postman as it completely fulfills all of my requirements. I can run it thru its website or thru its app. Both work very well without any issues.

Pros

In Postman we can save complete information about our APIs like request method, content type, header, and request payload, etc. So it becomes very easy to look at APIs structure and test those. It supports most of the authentication types like Basic Auth and OAuth. We can quickly and easily import and export APIs from and in Postman. This makes development fast as we can share API details with other team members.

Cons

I don't have anything to dislike about Postman. It really works very well.

### "API Testing Tool"

October 30, 2022

5.0

Honestly saying, I am using postman since 2+ years, I first time used postman during my internship period and I was amazed to see the features and functionality provided by postman, if there is no backend data available and you want to work on front end then using postman you can easily test APIs whether they are working or not and can go ahead for further development. Also postman saves previously used APIs so that later we can use them if we want. It is really easy to use and it saves a lot of time of developers.Postman is a crucial part in every backend and front end developer's life.

Pros

Postman is a fantastic tool for API testing, generally every developer needs to test API before creating an application,I would say postman is easy to use and it is user friendly tool, User only need to paste API link and can see the data belongs to that API. Postman allows various methods like GET, PUT,POST etc...Also if you paste the API link postman allows you to see the code in JSON, XML, python and many more. Postman allows to document the api data in collection and later can share with team members. User can save the APIs as collections and can easily use later directly from collections.

Cons

I am generally using postman to test APIs but sometimes I felt that when I paste the link of API in postman and hit enter it is not showing any response or any data but when I close the postman and try again it works, that's the only thing which I don't like else postman is a best friend for every developer.

### "Best HTTP client in the market."

June 30, 2021

5.0

I've used postman every day for the past 2 to 3 years as a tool to test my services, specially on edge case scenarios that were not covered by the initial unit tests, or that are discovered by the QA team. Postman being so intuitive has allowed me to be more effective at my job and, often times, discard the posibility of the error being in the backend without much effort. It would not be an understatement to say this software has saved me at least 100 hours of work. Would recommend it to anyone working primarily on the backend.

Pros

I've got almost no complaints on postman, specially on their installable desktop platforms. I can completely rely on it and trust their functionality in order to trust the services I work with every day. The configuration options for all requests are perfect and the supported options and exchange formats is up to date with industry standards. Plus. With an unexistent barrier of entry on the free tier, there is no better http client out there. I'd even pick it above Curl.

Cons

If I had one minor pet peeve is that the web client is not as intuitive nor complete as the others, often failing to save my changes. However this can be very easily side stepped by just downloading the correct client for your OS, so I hardly count it as a negative.

I use Postman to develop, test and monitor different API. For beginning it was not so easy to learn, but now I can efficiently use it to complete my tasks

Pros

I like friendly interface, rich features, useful response visualization, testing and monitoring. If I have question, I always can find answer in Postman community

Cons

For very complex API sometimes there are performance issues. Also for new users it may be a little hard to learn and understand how to use full power of Postman.

### "I am constantly finding new things that I can do with the application"

July 25, 2019

5.0

I love using Postman because if does exactly what I want it to do. I work with enough people that we are always finding new features and seeing how much more we can use this service for our company.

Pros

Where I work we have to take a lot of different language formats (HTML, Javascript, JSON and so forth) my preference is XML and not only will it convert the Language format, it also has an option to "Beautify" As long as you know what you are doing, Postman executes REST API's perfectly. You can set up your parameters, headers, text Bodies and even set up authorizations. I have dozens of calls saved so that it was remarkably easy to just run the API and it is good to go in seconds.

Cons

There are two things that I have found to be a challenge : 1. With large Response file bytes that come through, if can take a really long time to load and interact with the data. Postman can become sluggish and even non-responsive for longer periods of time. The fix is to set the bodies data to RAW and then it will run smooth, but by default, this option is not selected. 2. If you do not know what you are doing - this can feel not very user-friendly. There is a training section called "Bootcamp" but it told you what to do rather than what things are for. An example I have was I was trying to figure out what all of the different Methods produce but it would just tell me that the most common method is "GET" Just know that the training is more of a walkthrough rather than a roadmap.

### "Best API building and testing tool I've used so far."

April 10, 2023

4.0

Postman helps in my day to day tasks of development and testing. I usually do all my end to end testing using postman. It also saves all the logs and history so I don't have to worry about shutting down my pc abruptly.

Pros

Postman is the best tool out there to test the APIs. I have been using it for a few years now and all my colleagues use this too. Best thing about this tool is that you can save all the Endpoints and don't have to enter them repeatedly.

Cons

One thing it lacks is that you have to import the whole collection if you have several APIs why in other applications you can just open it via link. But apart from that it is well and good.

### "Must have this tool to develop and test API in real time."

February 15, 2023

5.0

From my observations and knowledge, Postman is a well-designed and reliable tool that offers a range of features for API development, testing, and automation. Its intuitive user interface makes it easy to use, even for those with limited coding experience, while its powerful collaboration capabilities allow for faster feedback and testing.

Pros

One of the most significant advantages of Postman is its user-friendly interface. The platform is intuitive and straightforward to use, even for those without extensive coding experience. It allows you to quickly create and test your APIs, with a variety of features to help you streamline the process.Overall, Postman is an essential tool for any developer working with APIs. It is easy to use, highly customizable and features powerful collaboration capabilities. If you're looking for a reliable and efficient way to develop, test, and share APIs, Postman is an excellent choice.

Cons

Paid features: While Postman offers a free version, many of its more advanced features are only available with a paid subscription. This may be a consideration for individual developers or smaller teams who are working with limited budgets

### "Best for testing my Apis"

January 3, 2023

4.0

Overall Postman is best for me and fulfills every requirement for testing my APIs.

Pros

The thing that I like the most about postman is that it's easy to use and I can always get a curl request from my colleague and easily import that API request to my Postman account and save it for the future. I also like to make a collection of API requests that I regularly use. and I also keep my hostnames in variables so I don't have to type the full hostname whenever I have to make a new API request.

Cons

Everything is good but It consumes too much RAM while running. other than that everything is good.

### "Postman - the best with REST APIs"

July 10, 2021

5.0

As i am using the free Postman version (incidental use, not day to day use) i am probably scratching the service as to the functionality of Postman. I use both the desktop client and the browser based version. THe best about Postman is that you can simply jump into old projects and you will be up and running again in no time.

Pros

Postman is a great tool for testing REST API, making connections to REST APIs. Although not as straight forward as SOAP UI (REST Projects), I think that the possibilities of Postman are great with regards to creating an storing projects that you are working on, including storing all kinds of values like API Keys, client IDs, client secrets and so on. Visiting a workspace that you worked in/on in the past allows you to pick up where you left of. Make sure that you save the aforementioned values and you have no issues picking up and refreshing for instance an OUATH2 token with a refresh token.

Cons

As many developers dive into the software and do not read any 'how to' documents, finding your way is a little daunting. However, I managed to figure out the configurations and options without to much trouble. As often many options cloud the interface but with some puzzling you should be able to use this tool.

Reason for choosing Postman

It is not so much choose over as it is next to. SoapUI excels with SOAP, Postman is better at REST
