The software makes any integration between separate systems an easier and more enjoyable process. I highly recommend Postman for any API/integration needs. Pros I enjoy the UI of Postman because it is modern and visually pleasing while using the software. The software allows for various post data options such a JSON, plain text, and XML. This post data options are important because sometimes I need to analyze the data returned while fine tuning an implementation detail. The application allows you to share test cases from one system to another which is useful in team settings. And I pretty much recommend other considering this software. Pros Postman is on of the leading api testing tools out there. It is one of its kind. It is the best suitable tool for all your development requirements. Using this is pretty much easy and the user interface is also very clean. I have been using it for a year now and it really save a lot of time for me. Apart from that its documentation is also very clean and easy to understand which makes it a easy to have a hands on. Pros Postman make it really simple to get started with API calls. My first experience was with the chrome plugin, then I gradually got used to the standalone app. While the standalone app has a larger footprint, it does offer some nice features such as being able to save calls and organize them into different collections. This make it easy to create sets of API calls which you can run entire tests through. My favorite feature is the ability to see the API call in a variety of different programming languages. No more searching through stackoverflow! Cons I liked the convenience of the browser plugin however it probably would have saturated chrome as well. The new UI takes some time to get used and there are some quirks like switching between environments sometimes will wipe out any populated fields. Review Source Fábio S. Cons It is not easy to change edit views on the header and body section. It would be better if a view had both and the program allowed for edit directly into it. December 22, 2019 5.0 Either you are a developer or quality assurance guy, you need to use an API development or testing tool for sure, and Postman could be your best choice. A great API testing tool specially for REST APIs. I’m a quality assurance guy and I have to use this tool as a regular basis to test the API. Usually I test RESTfull API using Postman and using automation script. This tool is best suites for API request, collection, environment, documentation and monitor. Overall, Postman is a outstanding platform for API development and testing. Pros User friendly interface and good API testing tool for beginner, specially who is in learning period for API build or API testing. Very easy to set up with google chrome plugins and also the native windows version. The tool is best for both back-end developer and quality analyst/software test engineer. The automation feature is very smart and easy to run, can save and run bundle of API call with a collection. Keeping all the previous run request in history that’s a very helpful. Cons The google chrome extension version will not allow you to get the full features and some updated features compared to native windows version. Pros Great interface, with all the features you need. Easy to organise your libraries and manage them over time. Lots of features to cope with all the APIs you can throw at it. Cons Sometimes it is easy to forget to save changes within you collections. Big collections can sometimes get awkward to use. . Memory hungry on Windows. Chrome apps have been deprecated and now Postman is a proper native application. The initial learning curve was steep but once I got over the hump it made everything better. I only used 1 feature of Postman and I know there are tons more that could assist you. I moved on from Supplier Enablement and still hear of people using Postman at my new company. Pros The software made my life so much easier for testing purposes when I was doing supplier enablement for a company. I used to have to send out test Purchase Orders and ask the companies I was enabling on the software to send back invoices. Using Postman allowed me to send test invoices back into the system myself. So I could do all the invoice testing by myself. This saved my so much time because I didn't have to wait to receive invoices. There are so many different features than what I used it for. Cons The software the pretty difficult to set up and start working with. I needed assistance from other people to start using the tool.
