It allows users to share their API collections and environments with others, making it easy for teams to work together on API development. Cons The support for web sockets is still in beta and I find it a bit clunky compared to other alternatives. Pros This tool can be used by many layers of IT companies. Like it can be used by the backend developer for their unit testing, a frontend developer can use it to make an API hit without UI. I would recommend this to any developer who is dealing with requests in their code. Pros When coding API's they become really difficult to test on a local environment. But with postman, it is really easy. Being able to customise headers and authentication to make sure your API acts exactly as it should is essential and Postman fulfills all my needs. Cons There are not many features I do not like about the software, it's all great and really useful. The UI can be a bit confusing to navigate around at first. Is the API test tool that I ever recommend to others. Pros It is a very easy and intuitive API test tool. Has the possibility to save different test environments with creds, URLs, parameters, etc. Helps to test different types of APIs with a lot of settings. Permits extract the response in different formats. And, with the "beta" capability, you can create an API easily to simulate endpoints and test calls from your systems. Pros I like that Postman covers the full cycle of API development, from documentation to testing, the flexibility of defining multiple environments (so useful for different test environments), and, as well, the ability to write JavaScript code pre/post requests execution. It's priceless. Cons There are several features that I miss: the ability to select multiple folders inside a collection for execution and that I can't execute folder tests directly - only within a collection interface. I automate with a REST package with Robot Framework, but I've found that setting up automation runs driven by CSV files is quck and easy with Postman, plus some co-workers not entirely comfortable with code development can catch onto Postman, even with the javascript-like pre-request scripts and post-execution tests. Pros Good online resources, large user community, nice layout for a test (header, body, pre-request scripts, tests), good set-up for data driven tests , CLI interface available with Newman, good structure of collections / folders / tests, exporting and sharing tests and collections and environment variables Cons Haven't found anything I didn't like. Pros Postman provides a great framework to write automated tests for our software. It is easy to organize and run full suites of tests with one click. Cons Lately, the software has been reverting changes on its own. Sometimes this happens as you are writing a test. Other times, the changes are gone when you return to the collection the next day. Hope they will work on it. Pros \- One can easily test APIs on local as well as on live/staging servers. It helps to understand the response of an API, share it with other teams, and make it possible for developers to change it accordingly. - We can make as many collections as we want. Cons \- Didn't work if my internet connection is not available and it is quite disturbing. Plus, if the internet restores after that, I have to close the application and then open it again. - There should be a button to hard refresh the postman. - They now have an offline version but it doesn't fetch collections that I had made with the active internet connection. With a complex JSON object and large CSV file, it may take 25 times just to get it working. This is the worst licensing model they have possibly devised.
