### "The most useful instrument for the API testing in your business "

November 15, 2024

5.0

My overall experience with Postman has been positive. It’s an intuitive tool for API testing with powerful features like automated testing, detailed request/response analysis, and team collaboration. However, it can become slow with large requests, and sometimes syncing issues arise in team workspaces. Despite these drawbacks, it remains a highly effective and widely-used tool for API development and testing.

Pros

User-friendly interface, powerful API testing capabilities, automated test scripting, detailed request/response analysis, and robust collaboration features.

Cons

Can be slow with large requests, occasional syncing issues in team workspaces, and limited support for certain authentication protocols.

### "Highly recommended tool for API development and test."

October 23, 2024

4.0

The tool has significantly streamlined my API development and testing workflow, making my job as a developer much more efficient. I appreciate its intuitive interface, powerful features, and collaborative capabilities. While there are a few areas where improvements could be made, the benefits of using Postman far outweigh the drawbacks.

Pros

I've been using Postman for a while now and I absolutely love it! It's made my life as a developer so much easier. The interface is super user-friendly, and I can easily build and test different API requests. I also love that I can save my requests into collections and share them with my team. It's a great tool for collaboration and makes our workflow much smoother.

Cons

when I'm working with really large collections or complex test scripts, it can get a bit slow. It would be great if there were more customization options, too. And finally, I wish it didn't always require an internet connection.

### "Best tool for your API testing"

September 11, 2024

4.0

Postman is by far the best tool for API testing. I use to not only test my APIs but also to document all the API endpoints that I have with their respective categories. This tool is a must-have for any backend developer.

Pros

\- Postman provides a very intuitive UI to test your APIs. It also provides almost all the available headers in the request that enable you to test your APIs. - The best part is you can get code in your programming language for the API call that you have just tested. - It also provides a workspace feature where you can group similar requests that may be related to one application. - Another big advantage of Postman is that it offers collections of APIs for various popular services, including Google Maps, PayPal, Twitter, and more. This is a fantastic feature as it saves much time that would otherwise be spent researching these API documents.

Cons

You must log into the Postman before saving a workspace or importing existing API requests. This becomes problematic as people who work in enterprises hesitate to enter their work email IDs in non-authorized vendors. It may be hard for someone new to programming to interact with the interface as it has too many options, I don't however count it as a con as Postman does the job well for API testing.

### "Postman: Good for the technical and non-technical"

April 20, 2025

5.0

I think Postman is a great product. For someone who is not a very technical person, it was easy enough for me to learn within 30 or so minutes.

Pros

For being an API platform, Postman is really user-friendly and intuitive. It's not clunky or archaic, but pretty sleek and simple.

Cons

Postman has a lot of steps in order to get what you need, and so it can take a few tries to get what you need. It would also be great if they offered a read-only version.

I like this tool very much for API and Database testing and It is very easy to use and validation check is very important for this tool.

Pros

It is best tool for testing API's before integration as well as to check validation. We can easily know the Backend Database Validation as well as API responses and their time as well as input data in the form of Params , helps very much.

Cons

I do not see any major issue in this tool and it is best tool used by major Software Community. It is easy to handle and there is no drawback in this tool.

### "API test, sharing and release made easy."

January 6, 2023

5.0

It pretty well does it's basic an expected job very well and make it very convenient to developer fraternity to rely upon. So, generally it terms out to share the Postman collection sharing in development lifecycle instead any API document or anything and that pretty much makes life easier to follow and adopt.

Pros

It's ease of use and impact, without a end application/consumer in sight we can design, develop, test and make it ready for the various planned usage across platforms and use cases etc..Very much makes it close to 99.99% development and still some issues may arise in actual but either not at all or very minimal issues or so. So, makes development pretty much independent.

Cons

Nothing much as it does it's basic job very well. Very much skirting issues like CORS or such request failures which occurs in real life but can't be reproduced with Postman anytime.

### "A user-friendly, comprehensive API testing tool"

June 10, 2022

5.0

I must admit that Postman is the best API testing tool I encountered up till now. It is comprehensive, with a load of features and great documentation. I don't recall any bugs with it throughout the years and despite I tried a variety of other software I always came back to Postman. Import and exports in the program are ridiculously easy. Requests, snippets, and even collections may be imported/exported with a couple of clicks. It makes configuration sharing incredibly simple. With its clarity and ease of use, it is worth trying!

Pros

The thing I like most about Postman is its clarity and ease of use. All basic functionalities are visibly described and ready to run within a couple of seconds. HTTP requests are the most important thing in the software, and they are working correctly, without any bugs. Of course, all requests are fully customizable, starting with core items like headers, authorizations, query parameters, and different payload types, through more advanced, such as scripts executed before the request and tests run after the response is received, finishing on the most advanced items like requests settings (e.g. following redirects) and cookies management. User can save requests and their configuration in collections, which makes rerunning tests and requests fast and organized. The possibility to define environments and APIs reduces the necessity of switching between different accounts or even rewriting needed data. A user can add documentation using defined requests and even comments describing e.g. TODO details. Also, automatic HTTP code snippet generation is extremely useful, especially when various languages are used on the backend side. The paid version of the tool offers more functionalities, like sharing the work between teams or constant API monitoring, which influence everyday work simplifying it significantly. The price is not too exorbitant, so it should not be a problem for the majority of companies. I also like the documentation, which contains all the necessary information.

Cons

To tell the truth, I cannot really find any flaws in Postman. I am working with it for over 3 years and I don't recall any problems or bugs with it. The only thing that can be better is the history of executed requests. It would be useful to be able to store more records from the past.

### "Postman does everything a tool for API development needs to do and more!"

January 16, 2020

5.0

Postman is my tool of choice when working with APIs. It does offer most of the features one may need while also being easy to use and learn.

Pros

I am using the free version of Postman in my daily work as a software tester. It's the application I use for working with APIs and, for me, it offers most of the features I need while also being intuitive and having a pleasant UI. Regarding REST services, it does offer the functionalities anyone would expect for running the APIs, nothing special here - it does what a software used for running webservices should do. Postman stands out for me for the additional features it offers - posibilities to add multiple environments and variables based on those environments, a history tab with the requests and responses ran in the past, ability to write tests in app, ability to automatically run those tests (with some limitations for the free version), grouping collections under a workspace and then change through workspaces (in case there are multiple different projects a user has to work with), ability to export and share the collection and environment variables and possibility to run the tests within a CI system. Even though I barely used it for other types of services, I know that Postman works with SOAP and GraphQL too.

Cons

I would say that Postman is in a weird place with the "Team Workspaces" for the free version. For this, they offer 25 different calls that can be registered within the team. In every situation I was in, this number was too low, even for the smallest projects I worked with. It was never useful to start working within a team workspace because we were always getting to the point where the older calls were deleted because we were exceeding the limit. After a few tries, I gave up completely on this feature. Personally, a limit to 50 would have been more useful - I can understand this is their business model and they offer payed alternatives, but in my opinion the "Team Workspace" feature is not usable in the state which is now.

### "A Very Good Rest Client"

February 23, 2023

5.0

Overall I am very happy to use Postman as it completely fulfills all of my requirements. I can run it thru its website or thru its app. Both work very well without any issues.

Pros

In Postman we can save complete information about our APIs like request method, content type, header, and request payload, etc. So it becomes very easy to look at APIs structure and test those. It supports most of the authentication types like Basic Auth and OAuth. We can quickly and easily import and export APIs from and in Postman. This makes development fast as we can share API details with other team members.

Cons

I don't have anything to dislike about Postman. It really works very well.

### "Postman simplifies building APIs. Save yourself the time and dev dollars--use it!"

January 11, 2023

4.0

Positive. There's not really another app that does what Postman does as well as it does it, so will continue to use it. Great job to the Developers; they've built something that's highly useful to a large number of people!

Pros

It's become our go-to software for developing, testing/debugging and deploying APIs to our AWS Cloud infrastructure accounts. We work in several distributed teams where the code gets written quickly and changed frequently, so we're members of a Postman workspace where the requests update automatically after they're saved (probably my favorite feature).

Cons

Workspaces have a limited number of seats, and it gets expensive quickly. Environment variables in a shared workspace get messy quickly, and there's no way to search or pin them if you're dealing with 100+ of them. Their docs on variables and their JavaScript API is a little confusing and don't work exactly as they describe them, especially when writing integration tests. There have been times where we've lost variables we've saved, and we had to start backing them up offline and re-importing them.

### "A must have handy tool for API/WS devs"

November 12, 2022

4.0

This tool was a "go to" application to test API endpoints that were beeing developed by our team. It was also used to make sure that every developed endpoint was available from outside of our infrastructure and in every existing environment.Overall I think it is a must have tool to use if you are developing, testing or integrating APIs or Webservices.

Pros

The ability to test new endpoints and save them into a project that you can export and share with your team is a great plus! Also, the simplicity of usage and the data visualisation options are two of the main advantages.

Cons

From my personal perspective, I can't pin point any relevant flauts in this software so I highly recommend it.

### "API Testing Tool"

October 30, 2022

5.0

Honestly saying, I am using postman since 2+ years, I first time used postman during my internship period and I was amazed to see the features and functionality provided by postman, if there is no backend data available and you want to work on front end then using postman you can easily test APIs whether they are working or not and can go ahead for further development. Also postman saves previously used APIs so that later we can use them if we want. It is really easy to use and it saves a lot of time of developers.Postman is a crucial part in every backend and front end developer's life.

Pros

Postman is a fantastic tool for API testing, generally every developer needs to test API before creating an application,I would say postman is easy to use and it is user friendly tool, User only need to paste API link and can see the data belongs to that API. Postman allows various methods like GET, PUT,POST etc...Also if you paste the API link postman allows you to see the code in JSON, XML, python and many more. Postman allows to document the api data in collection and later can share with team members. User can save the APIs as collections and can easily use later directly from collections.

Cons

I am generally using postman to test APIs but sometimes I felt that when I paste the link of API in postman and hit enter it is not showing any response or any data but when I close the postman and try again it works, that's the only thing which I don't like else postman is a best friend for every developer.

### "Great API lifecycle managment tool for rest/json APIs"

September 24, 2022

5.0

Postman has become one of essential tool in our software development projects (web services, microservices). We use it mostly for testing rest/json APIs and documenting APIs we created in form of collections. Secondly we often also receive Postman collections as part of integration documentation from other vendors and that helps a lot with integration.

Pros

Postman has become one of essential tool in our software development projects (web services, microservices). It is the best tool for testing rest/json APIs. Support for exporting/importing collection and environment data.

Cons

Nothing special, but sometimes during troubleshooting results in Postman can be misleading and it is useful to do simple curl calls to see what is happening behind the scenes.

### "Best HTTP client in the market."

June 30, 2021

5.0

I've used postman every day for the past 2 to 3 years as a tool to test my services, specially on edge case scenarios that were not covered by the initial unit tests, or that are discovered by the QA team. Postman being so intuitive has allowed me to be more effective at my job and, often times, discard the posibility of the error being in the backend without much effort. It would not be an understatement to say this software has saved me at least 100 hours of work. Would recommend it to anyone working primarily on the backend.

Pros

I've got almost no complaints on postman, specially on their installable desktop platforms. I can completely rely on it and trust their functionality in order to trust the services I work with every day. The configuration options for all requests are perfect and the supported options and exchange formats is up to date with industry standards. Plus. With an unexistent barrier of entry on the free tier, there is no better http client out there. I'd even pick it above Curl.

Cons

If I had one minor pet peeve is that the web client is not as intuitive nor complete as the others, often failing to save my changes. However this can be very easily side stepped by just downloading the correct client for your OS, so I hardly count it as a negative.
