December 9, 2025 5.0 I've been in the association management for the past 20 years. I've used home grown Access databases as well as Growthzone, Arwin AMS, and Memberclicks. Novi AMS by far is the best I have personally used. Pros It's an associate management software that is designed by individuals who actually worked within association management. They understand our pain points! Cons Nothing really comes to mind. I've been trying to think of something and I just can't really come up with anything. Alternatives considered [GrowthZone](https://www.capterra.com/p/124449/GrowthZone/) Reason for choosing Novi AMS I was pretty much set on Growthzone, but my Exec asked me to check Novi out, so I did. The thing that transformed my opinion was that Novi has a strong Quickbooks integration. They designed Novi to work seamlessly with Quickbooks. Additionally Novi doesn't take the approach to do everthing under the sun. They have an open API which allows us to integrate with additional online resources that we were already using such as constant contact. This was a gamechanger for us. They handle the important things with association management and for those organizations that want more options they can work with other online software that provides that additional functionality. The AMS includes an easy-to-update website, membership database, event registration, and more. Integration with QuickBooks and Constant Contact is invaluable. And best of all, the Novi team is so friendly, responsive, and communicative. We are working more efficiently as a result of Novi, and migrating to Novi AMS was the best decision we’ve made in many years. I highly recommend this platform. Association Executive Professional Training & Coaching Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Using Novi For a Couple of Years" March 31, 2021 4.0 We use NOVI for the PBAA day to day business such as accounting, events..etc. I enjoy that there are many options on Novi but some can be confusing. Before the last update I was unable to pull up a report of who had joined or dropped. This has been fixed as there is a simple click on button that says Add Report/Drop Report which is very helpful!!! To set this entire thing up a couple of years ago, it was a LONG process that requires lots of time. Now, having a few years under my belt, it has simplified. If you decide to use NOVI, during the set up make sure whoever is going to be using NOVI participates in the training/set up along with you-it makes things a lot easier in the long run. It was (and continues to be) the best decision we've ever made to switch to them to manage our association. Not only is the product everything they promised during the sales process, but they regularly add and improve features, as well as taking into account customer requests for additions. And unlike other third-party products we use/have used, they don't have a premium tier or try to upsell you on buying more features - as far as I know, everything they offer is available to everyone who is their customer. Pros Where Novi AMS truly stands out as a company is that they genuinely WANT to improve their product and themselves - they listen to their customers, they think about what they can do to make their product what we need, and they are still at a size where they can and do try to treat every customer as an individual, rather than as a number being added to their bottom line. And to be clear, treating every customer as an individual and asking that all your employees try to keep that in mind is a decision - it is not something that automatically happens with small companies or something that you can state once as the mission of your company and just expect everyone to follow - this is something that someone somewhere in the company made an active decision about and then did their best to model the behavior they wanted. They have largely succeeded. Cons Right now it's still difficult to quickly search members in Novi by their locations as the state fields can be entered by people in various formats. Also there is no mobile version yet but I believe that is already in their list of improvements coming up soon. April 22, 2022 5.0 We are a hybrid professional organization with a mix of individual and corporate members.  We went live with Novi in Dec 2021.  1. AMS selection process: exceptional.  \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and his team were exceptionally open, transparent, patient, and diligent when answering our questions, providing us with demos, and ensuring that we had an accurate grasp of Novi's capabilities during our AMS selection process.  Our selection process narrowed down to 4 finalists and Novi was a late and uncertain entry but ended up finishing at the top of the pack with a significant advantage. 2. AMS implementation and onboarding: Fantastic.  Novi managed the entire project via Asana and our team became part of that Asana project with all milestones, deadlines and deliverables clearly marked.  Novi's team stayed on task and on time and our implementation slipped by only 2 weeks from an original estimate of 3 months.  The slippage was mostly on us and due to Thanksgiving holidays falling near the end and our staff taking time off.  Exellent project management and leadership from Novi's team. 3. Early support: Naturally shortly after the implementation there is a lot of need for hand-holding.  Novi's team excels at that.  Novi's documentation and online help are excellent and more often than not we were able to self service. 4. Life on Novi: it won't come to surprise to anyone that there will be things you can't accomplish on any system the way you want to accomplish them.  With that being said Novi's tea Pros Novi does not try to do too many things inside one system. It focuses on member management and transactions, events, and ease of integrations with other best of breed systems. This allows us to built the optimal business IT ecosystem comprised of focus-built system each of which is best in what it does and fits our requirements. Spectacular customer service and support. Hands down the best I have experienced. Cons Nothing really comes to mind. My very esoteric need is to easily replicate production environment into staging. This is not really supported in an automated way. I would absolutely recommend Novi to my peers, whether you're a small and mighty association or a larger organization. Pros We are a smaller association with 4 staff members. Novi helps us do our jobs more effectively and efficiently. It's a very user-friendly platform and so simple to navigate, but offers everything we need and then some. The two-way sync with QuickBooks is what originally sold us. But I also find both the membership management and web development tools intuitive and robust, and love having them both under one roof. Novi thinks of things we need before we do! (Love the newer census and NPS features.) Their team is extremely responsive to our questions and proactive in providing trainings and support as well as system improvements that are actually based on user requests. Cons I have yet to find anything Novi can't do for us. They're constantly evolving to fit the needs of their users. Having programs that speak to one another just really helps to keep everything organized and streamlined. The streamlining process removed a lot of potential for human error out of our business model, and it also helped to increase our revenue. Novi frees up our time to help focus more on growing our membership, and it also has great opportunities to create some non-dues revenue. Cons They are always looking for ways to help improve the software, so sometimes there is a little bit of a learning curve to figure out the new offerings. September 26, 2019 5.0 Since using Novi, we are way more confident in the data we pull. Monthly membership reports use to be my least favorite thing to do, now its a piece of cake thanks to Novi! Pros First, our website looks great! As for the program itself, we are able to get most of the information needed when it comes to monthly reporting to the board. This was the main reason for switching. Cons I'm assuming, because it's new there are a few bugs that have to be worked out, but they are great at helping out. Our organization is small so the automations have been very helpful in maximizing staff hours on things like mailing list queries and event registrations. Cons I would like a native mass email system inside of Novi instead of the Constant Contact/Mail Chimp bridge. Those two companies have large public profiles and many of our members have them blacklisted in their SPAM filters. I am constantly in awe of how this program has changed what we do, how we do it, and the added benefits for our members. Pros I think the fact that NOVI is on stand-by to answer questions, lead us to solutions, and help us navigate the powerful tool is one of the greatest aspects of NOVI. I made an off-handed comment about not having the address for orders on the printed page and several weeks later - there it was suddenly. I was blown away. I have never had a company respond to a suggestion in my life! Cons The integration between the learning management system and NOVI leaves a lot to be desired; however, I have seen great improvement and expect that the responsive team at NOVI will not rest until it works in the same easy way as the NOVI does alone. Novi allowed us to integrate everything together in one system that as a volunteer organization will be easier to maintain going forward and easier to train others, as members come in or move on. Pros The onboarding process was top notch, Novi's staff was amazing. They're always willing to help and listen to ideas too. The software was fairly intuitive to us as we started managing our content and members. Integration with MailChimp has made contacting our members such a breeze. May 30, 2023 5.0 Pros The ability to have multi-tiered, multi-priced costs for our events is huge. Cons The thing I like the most about Novi is their ability to listen to their client's concerns. You cant have an out-of-the-box software that fits everyone, but NOVI will listen to you and see if they can figure it out. For example, we had some issues with email deliverability. I had a call with the head of development and the CEO and they worked the problem. They then emailed me back with the solutions and then I had another meeting with the CEO and he showed me the software change they had made to correct our issue, and the issues of all their clients. Reason for choosing Novi AMS Read all the reviews and interviewed 15 to 20 different providers. While NOVI was more expensive, the support is SUPERB and well worth everything. Pros Honestly, my favorite part about Novi is the team. They made a great product that solved a lot of AMS issues, but the Novi Team is what makes it great. They didn't make a product and walk away thinking they were finished. They are constantly evaluating the software to see how it can be better. The best part is that they listen to user input when making those decisions. Cons This is a pro and a con... It isn't 100% customizable. Their features and upgrades apply to all users. This is a pro, because I, as a user, benefit from feature ideas brought in by other users, but it's also a con because if we have a need, that only we have and doesn't benefit other users, it doesn't make sense to change the software. However, based on what I have heard...Novi AMS soars high above the competition. I love how easy it is to get in touch with support, and the fact that I have had a chance to meet the Novi team at the first annual Novi AMS summit. The team truly cares about its customers, and it is refreshing to witness! Pros I love how easy it is to navigate, learn, and teach to new hires. The software is so user-friendly, and it is almost impossible to make a mistake (and if you do make a mistake, the Novi team is quick to help). Cons I really can't say I have an answer to this. Cons The lack of customization options available on the Novi AMS was the least liked feature. While the system was easy to use and had many useful features, it lacked the customization options that some of its competitors did.
