Avature, in my opinion, is hands-down the leader of the pack in ATS/CRM software, and I don't think it's all that close. The navigation, configurability, smart design, and product evolution make it the superior recruiting software. There are shortcomings, yes, but you'll find these of some sort with any SaaS vendor or product, and the pros Avature offers heavily outweigh any cons.

Pros

As a long-time administrator and user of Avature, I have always enjoyed the configurability of the core app, from having all the data fields your heart desires to the record layout and dashboards that users access. Its flexibility to your organization's needs, styles, and branding is key. Also key are lists. Avature's lists functionality sets the software apart from any other ATS/CRM. Being able to use virtually any native or custom field as a filter and/or column to find records on a whim -- and being able to save and share an endless number of lists -- ensures each organization can find and act on data in an efficient and complete manner. Massively important.

Cons

As powerful as lists (and custom reports) are, both suffer performance issues given too much data or too complex of a search. Avature leadership and engineering have taken noticeable steps toward improving this, but much more is needed, and competitors are beginning to leave Avature in the dust in this regard. Avature also has a tendency to over-promise and under-deliver. Big features will be touted as the annual Upfront with an aggressive timeline that proves unrealistic. And when Avature does finally deliver, it often feels half-baked and underwhelming. Examples include Portal Apps Builder, "fuzzy search," Copilot, Sherlock, and smaller features.

I think when it comes to using avature as a platform, we are very pleased with the level of support we get from the team. We are enabled to deliver more value to our internal stakeholders, with a level of process that is superior to other solutions available that dont really have the level of flexibility. We are able to screen people successfully, host all of their data in one unified place, have a great experience offered to our internal and external stakeholders in viewing profiles, analyzing data, and applying to jobs which is at the core of our employee journey. All of this with a level of security that gives our internal audit and infosec teams the reassurance needed.

Pros

I like the flexibility of the platform, it allows for the creativity of the team to come to live and enables them in creating a solution relevant for our business case

Cons

I think the pricing structure being changed so often is not a good experience for customers. If there is something already handled in a way, dont change it to charge differently to old customers.

My overall experience with Avature has been amazing and I do not see that changing. I love everything about the system. i love that it is always customizable based on our ever changing needs.

Pros

Avature has streamlined our recruiting and onboarding process. everything is contained in one system. all aspects of the candidate profile was customized to our specs and is updated as our needs change. Reporting and analytics are a breeze to pull and put in a presentable format. Our account rep \[sensitive content hidden\] is AMAZING. He is always ready to work some magic and show us how he got there so we are able to duplicate his process.

Cons

as far as what i like the least is a simple answer. I wish we would have found avature sooner than we did.

Avature is easy to learn and use and I learn from it every single day. There are always updates and new features to learn and use.

Pros

I like that you can configure it to fit your needs and modify as you go. There are so many options that you can literally let the program run itself in some instances.

Cons

I don't really have anything I don't like. There are little things such as merging multiple profiles at once or marking them not a duplicate.

My role involves creating custom reports and dashboards in Avature. The system’s capabilities are truly impressive! We can map fields from various forms and data sources to develop almost any reporting solution. What I appreciate most about Avature is its ability to be tailored to unique processes, allowing for detailed and specific reporting. I also really appreciate the people who work at Avature.

Cons

What I find most frustrating about Avature is the lengthy process for adding new enhancements, and sometimes, requests are outright denied.

Overall, it's been a positive experience so far. The certification equips the relevant team member to effectively implement changes in line with business requirements.

Pros

The system has significantly streamlined our processes, improving overall efficiency and reducing manual workloads. It has enhanced workflow automation, allowing us to complete tasks faster and with fewer errors. This has resulted in smoother operations and better coordination across team.

Cons

\- Other tabs do not load content until they are actively opened, which causes delays. It would improve efficiency if the tabs preloaded content to reduce waiting times when switching between them - The dashlet currently opens within the same tab, which can make navigation less efficient. It would be beneficial if the dashlet (list indicator) opened in a new tab to allow users to easily switch between different lists without navigating back and forth within the dashboard.

I work as a candidate engagement PM that also doubles as an Avature Admin. We use Avature primarily as a CRM. Due to business needs I was unable to attend all certification courses, but needed to operate in my capacity. I found Avature highly capable & effective of managing what I needed, but was often taking a majority of my time researching to find answers to my troubleshooting needs.

Pros

It is a powerful tool to build robust ATS/CRM platform/s for your business. One user can manage vast amounts of capabilities to ensure top quality candidate engagement and data management.

Cons

It can be difficult to navigate all of the capabilities and time consuming to find assistance. When building digital processes or solutions, I need to be able to find my answers quickly. I found the Avature training library difficult to navigate when seeking solutions, and don't always have time to wait for responses to customer service requests. Access to a technical or process manual would be a nice feature.

Overall, I am very content with our Avature platform. It's helped us create many automations and efficiencies.

Pros

The incredible amount of flexibility. There's many different challenges you can throw at Avature, and almost all of them can be solved. It's really powerful and mature.

Cons

Because there's so much you can do, the learning curve is quite step. Also, features have extended capabilities, but it does happen every now and then that you are stuck with a trade-off, as every workaround you find has at least some limitation. Albeit often limited, it's often a shame that you can get close to perfection, but then something obvious could be missing. This happens especially with new functionality, where the first release is very limited.

Pros

Incredibly configurable, when you ask if something is possible the answer is almost yes. It also allows the system leads (like me) to self-service a lot of changes. The Admin UI is very intuitive and there's heaps of learning content and support.

Cons

At times we hit pinch points with centralised teams on projects and changes. We only need to engage with these teams for certain large projects and integrations.

Willingness to work toward solutions to any situation! Flexible technology that is continuing to invest in development to stay a leader in the HR tech space. The fact that this company is privately held and is investing more in development than in SALES, they are focusing on being the BEST IN CLASS rather than selling the most. Refreshing!

Pros

Flexibility and ease of configuration for each business strategy and situation in any industry. There are literrally NO limitations. Avature will work with any client to enable their vision.

Cons

Challenging for Tech Support to respond quickly, as each client's instance is unique and the support specialist has to "learn" each instance before addressing an issue, in most cases.

Despite any negatives or less-than-five-star features, I am an Avature evangelist in a world of folks trying to be "tech-agnostic." That doesn't mean I don't also like other products, but Avature's ease of use has made me look smart in more than a few situations.

Pros

The versatility and ease of use with Avature's workflow builder sets it apart from its competition. When I'm confronted with any type of recruitment process issue - even outside of its normal use - my first question is, "How might Avature improve this process?"

Cons

Integration with LinkedIn would be a huge improvement, but Avature may not be to blame. Resume parsing is decent, but the evolution of matching (and "AI," whatever that means this month) may not have been prioritized on the developer story list as highly as it should.

overall I have really enjoyed having this tool. Our last CRM was horrible and I used an excel sheet instead of that tool. I am so much more productive since we got avature.

Pros

I love that I can manage the stages of each candidate and skill set and have the database send me reminders of when I need to reach out to a candidate again.

Cons

SOme of the more advanced functions are hard to do without instructions and I find sourcing for candidates in the tool to be hard to do.

Pros

The Avature UI is very sleek and clean; it feels natural. The usability is built for simplicity while offering customization for the user. The roadmap since I have been using it has been set up to deliver more features to users and non-developers which has been great to delivery agile results with little implementation timeline and resources.

Cons

The platform is very customizable, but we tend to hit our record limits with lists, reports and dashboards that requires more developing of smaller chunks of data to get the values to generate versus creating a single large level widget for admins or senior leaders to review.

Reason for choosing Avature

The number of features is very competitive; some platforms tend to focus on certain areas, but Avature continues to expand across the platform's objects. Thier training team and support model is also very responsive for when we try new things to keep us on track when we decide to go forth and tread new waters.

The ability for users to Self Report is superior to other products. To be able to filter down by workflow step or any field filter, regardless of the object, make it easy for the user to configure their own reporting. Furthermore, Avature has and is willing to build custom integrations for many 3rd party initiatives should their clients be interested in integrating say, a dialer, or, other data source. They are great to work with I have made career decisions on my ability to work with and support Avature.

Pros

I've had 7 years experience implimenting Avature, and, the unfortunate experience of sunsetting Avature in favor of what turned out to be a far inferior (though a very popular) product (with another company). Avature's ability to report data, customize workflow and field configurations, and, the ability to utilize data outside of the platform is second to none. It's highly customizable, user-friendly, and, easy to train. There is no need for 3 part apps, with additional costs, and while some features have additional costs within Avature, the value is superior to those with 3rd party Apps. Avature is constantly improving their product, rolling out enhancements, and, thinking ahead to provided what is needed for true AWS achievement.

Cons

While there are some cons, like, accessing large table data in a raw format for BI integration, Avature is working on overcoming that with Avature 8/Endpoints. Because Avature is so customizable, no two instances are alike, and, this can be more difficult for standardization and training initiatives, but, there are prescriptive restrictions that can be placed on users and admin type roles to avoid customization where desired.

Pros

The product is easy to use, easy to design. Intuitive and is continually being improved by Avature.

Cons

Some features (like time slot portal and calendar) are clunky and not as easy to use as the rest of the platform.

It's still far better compared to other complicated or super simple tools. Used wisely, you can have a streamlined set of data that you can analyze later to improve your hiring processes or to produce reports for external usage. It's a right mix of detailed and straightforward.

Pros

It's simplicity when it comes to recruiters using the software to track the progress of their candidates. Depending on the quality of data and how the workflow is set up, you can run analytics on the data that can be exported (analytics done outside of Avature).

Cons

It's not the place to run analytical reporting, as it requires complex coding (the language is still different from SQL) and it does not have certain features that one can do in Excel or Power BI. Another point is it's lack of ability to accommodate business development-level of information storing and tracking (it's still more of an ATS than a CRM).

Reason for choosing Avature

The ability to set up silos. Cost-effectiveness as well.

The Avature is best and solid CRM software or platform and the following things that I like most are: - Easy to use dashboard even beginner can understand easily. - Powerful drag and drop builder. - Easy and very reliable to use and tagging of candidate's skill feature is awesome.

Cons

the only two thing that I don't like most is: - Their reporting feature is somehow not meet the quality criteria. - Not able to import multiple CVs.

I love the customizability of the software. I love that my company can do most of the work on our own without having to wait for Avature to configure.

Cons

That I can not configure everything. And the queue time to complete a project is very inconvenient.

The Avature CRM is really powerful. The Customer Success / Account Management team lacks knowledge of the platform and isn't really helpful - at least they're really friendly though.

Avature has so much to offer in linking multiple systems - I know that a big business problem at my company is trying to ensure that we are being as efficient as possible in everything we do, and Avature really helps us do this by saving time and effort.

Pros

Avature is probably the most all-encompassing ATS I've had the opportunity to utilize throughout my time in recruitment. The features are so vast and customizable that it's easy to set up dashboards and reporting in a way that will allos your team to work out of the system in nearly every functionality you may need.

Cons

Avature is really not at all user-friendly. It takes extensive training to learn how to create lists and reports, as well as how to generally access many basic functions. Once you learn everything it's an amazingly intuitive system! But getting there is difficult and takes quite a lot of time.

We work both in and out of the United States and have been able to optimize the candidate application and interview process around the world, taking all country-specific rules into consideration. The system also integrates well with our employee management system for onboarding management.

Pros

This entire system is customizable. The workflows, forms, portals, and events are all easily customizable to work for your unique company. I appreciate that I can make many changes independently, but the tech support team is always available to assist when I do not have the capacity to do something. They also offer plenty of training videos which has helped me train new team members and learn more myself.

Cons

There are some elements that seem behind in the times compared to other software systems, but Avature is constantly releasing updates, and they're great about listening to their customers. If people voice their opinion, the Avature team will thoughtfully consider your suggestions.

\- the dashboard and layout is very easy to use and you can easily navigate between folders and features - the ability to custom tag prospects/candidates allows the user to bring up search results very quickly and efficiently - the ability to create email campaigns - search functionality is complete and very simple to use

Cons

\- depending on the level of package your organisation has, you can be limited with some of the features i.e. using your own customized tabs, not having it integrated with your applicant tracking system

Pros

The incredibly flexible workflows and data models make it easy to facilitate our processes, which can be complex at times.

Cons

Until our recent certification we needed Avature to update many things within our instance (application, career site, etc). After certification this has improved greatly! However, we still can find it difficult to understand what features are available or coming soon and if we have them enabled in our portals. With a good account manager relationship this can be helped.
