August 26, 2019 5.0 I don't have to be physically present at my office to access our financial information/client billing data/etc. Pros The versatility of being cloud based is very beneficial to me as I can log in from anywhere with an internet connection. Combined with the price it was the best choice for our law firm. Cons We're a 1 attorney law firm and while larger companies can utilize all the bells and whistles we just need basic billing functions. So easy to use and really user friendly! Cons The only thing that could be different is when I select "Active" in the Matter tab and every search I have to re-select it again. Good follow up service from your customer service staff. Pros It takes care of the file management and is mostly user friendly. Your customer service department is very helpful and take the stress away from issues quickly. Cons If an invoice needs changes or additions once it is saved it is difficult to change and too time consuming with many steps to go through to be able to make those changes. I was an early adopter and I really like it. I probably don't use as many of the functions as I should but what I do use, I really like. I have recommended it to people in the past and will continue to do so. Pros I like the ease of functionality the best. Cons I think the accounting is more difficult than the legal end of it, but I am not an accountant. July 24, 2019 5.0 Pros For solos and small firms, the built in accounting was a definite selling point. Filled with features and the customer support was great. Cons No add ins or integrations at the time of my free trial. This limited the functionality . As a growing firm, I wanted a case management system that would grow with me. I feel like the potential is there it just needs more tweaking. Pros Cloud software, navigation in program, reminders and importing of emails. Cons It doesn't have all information available on one page. Invoice generating page the card slot area is very small and takes a very long time to find your cards and that you can only capture 400 cards in one invoice and then when you go into activities and capture them all you cannot apply a discount. I've recommended it to other lawyers that are looking to go out on their own. Why pay for multiple software licenses and learn multiple platforms when CosmoLex does it all, from anywhere, for less? Pros Single solution, cloud based, eliminates the need for separate software licenses, LawPay credit card processing integration, OneDrive integration, ease of use, Android app Cons Would like to be able to edit billing entries (time amounts, billing amounts, partial no-charge in block bills) directly in timers, could use a more elegant accounting solution for firm funds that are parked as a buffer in trust accounts. Pros Easy to use and very user friendly. Support team is great and very helpful/quick to respond. Cons As it is relatively new, there are some features that are not available and through use our firm noticed would be very helpful. January 18, 2017 5.0 We have previously used some SQL based accounting software, but Cosmolex's user interfaces make our accounting much more accurate. Pros I like cosmolex's support, that it has such a broad functionality. I specifically like the way I can integrate entering in an expense and link it to the matter, I like using the TK reports so that I can keep up with calculating 941 Withholdings. Also, just having a system with set rules on how to input data keeps our financial data clean and accurate for auditing. Cons I would like to see a how to update a matter's contact email. I was trying to update the email to which we sent Invoices yesterday, and I could see the matter's associated email on the dashboard, but could not seem to locate a how to article in the knowledge base. I also would like to separate out invoices not only by fees and expenses, but also separate each category by TK and not just chronologically. Review Source Joshua D. Pros I struggled to select my first LPM platform. Most of the lead players appeared to offer the same features. I finally chose CosmoLex because of its accounting functions and the LawPay integration. I have been using it for about a month, and I have no complaints. Cons There are almost too many features. December 11, 2018 4.0 Pros Cosmolex is the only management program I have used, so I can only compare it with how we used to do thing (with hundreds of spreadsheets!). It has been great, we are so much better organized, I can see all the matters and clients' accounts in one place, generate invoices was straight forward and easy. It's changed the way we do things forever. We also like the seamless integration with LawPay! Cons The limited ability to customize invoice or matter-billing-report templates. It takes me at least 3 times as long to enter into Cosmolex as it takes me to create a manual invoice and cut and paste that info into excel. The program seems to work for many other tasks but it fails at allowing rapid invoice generation for high turnover projects that are in and out within the hour. Pros The workflows, the customer support, and tracking reports Cons Invoicing within the program is a nightmare. Cons I would still like a report that breaks down, by client, the expenses incurred monthly, and shows a monthly total of expenses. It would speed up month end by showing me what is income that is taxed and paid out, and what is expenses that is applied to neither. They are quick and it is always a live person. Customer support representative is the one who always helps me. I call because I know he can always figure it out. I love having accounting and billing in the same software. I spent hours researching a software for my law firm and I went with CosmoLex for customer service, cost, cloud platform, and features. I am glad I did. Cons I just wish it had document merge and template capabilities, but they are happy to take requests and suggestions. They are always rolling out new features and updates.
