Owner and Director Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Good when it works" November 6, 2025 2.0 It has been average with a number of problems experinced over the last few years, some which have taken a long time to resolve. Pros It has been a great advancement from using manual excel sheets. It is great for sending out invoices to my customers and asking them to pay online via paypal. Cons I most dislike their integration with Gocardless since it has caused us a lot of problems, although QB were quick to accept fault and offer compensation. The online payment fees through paypal is expensive. It is too much sometimes. Pros It was very easy to use and they constantly make updates. Our CPA is also very familiar with the product, so that made it even easier to use. Cons They never send out details emails explaining their updates and how to use them. It is very confusing to sit down one day and everything has changed. Pros Quickbooks online is an amazing tool for samll and big business models. It keeps track of all needed financials within your business. Easy to use and an affordable price. Cons Quick books can seem complicated and very in depth so it can be daunting at first but once you use it a few times you can get the hang of it quickly. Review Source lB lia B. I haven't been able to find this combination of value and price in another off the shelf program. Pros The ease and speed of invoicing and payments has streamlined a good amount of 'busy work". The connection to other small businesses using the same platform has also streamlined uploading new vendors and customers. Cons Some of the reports that I was used to in the desktop version were hard to replicate. With the online support I was able to find most of what I needed. It is widely known and used and easily understood by non-finance professionals. It is still seeing updates and getting better than the original version as they try to move all users to QBO. Pros QBO Advanced has quick and easy reporting with so many ways to customize. It integrates easily with basically every other tool and is very easy to access. Cons Some reports are not as robust as the QB Desktop versions, though this seems to be consistently improving. Have been using this system for several years and it has served most of our needs quite well. Pros Ease of use, syncs with other software's. The reports are generated easily and for the moist part very helpful. Cons Having an accountant undo a reconciliation when needed. The desktop version you could reverse a reconciliation on your own. Pros It gets the job done. I am able to keep track of expenses, look up deposits and reconcile bank accounts with ease. Cons I am still learning some of the aspects of how to use it since I am new. Pros I like the new option to add projects, it's the best tool so far and most widely accepted in the market to track your expenses, categorize and run reports for profitability. I use it to send invoices and connect it to each of my projects. Cons Sometimes it takes its time to update the last transactions, or it automatically categorizes but you always have to double-check and determine which is the correct nature of the transaction. Cons More features means more learning, although Quick Books do provide the training. It can be overwhelming to slot into your current business. It's nice that it integrates with so many other softwares. Pros I enjoy that Quick Books online is very intuitive and how smooth it is to operate. The fact that it's cloud based makes it easy for teams. Cons I don't like that the app on my desktop is super slow. I, also, found that the rising fees on every element were adding up to more than it was worth. I could not reach customer support ever to straighten out problems so ultimately had to make a few changes. Pros I loved using QuickBooks product suite for the first year or two and still find that it's a great comprehensive package for small businesses. Cons When using the full QuickBooks product suite there are often issues. For example invoicing double creating bookkeeping entries. I still use some QuickBooks products but do not use all of them any longer. Once learned, it is fairly easy to use. Good community group. Integrates with my CPA to access necessary documents Cons Poor help files. It should be built out more.
