I like being able to track when items are received and to keep a list of things that have been ordered. I also like that team members can select and request an item that I can then push through to order once I've had a chance to review. Furthermore, the monthly spending reports and the easy interface with excel have been incredibly helpful. Finally, ordering directly from quartzy has generally been a positive experience, as they have great customer service - they are good with cancellations if something is delayed, rapid and professional communication, etc Cons Very few. On the inventory, a "search for duplicates" function would be helpful, especially if the item is identical but from different sources. Also, forms don't automatically update for certain options. The 19 scientists in my lab love it, and even accounting finds it useful for looking into certain inventory items. Pros Quartzy is free to use and took our lab from handwritten order requests to a streamlined platform that stores our inventory and alerts for urgent order requests. Customer service is phenomenal and the overall product is very streamlined. Pros This software is super user friendly. Not only with setup but also with everyday usage. Cons Sometimes items have been discontinued or not in stock and it doesn't say that when purchasing. Not that big of a deal but if the catalogs were live that would be great. Cons It takes too many clicks to perform searches, and shipping information is not always up to date. Also, there is always a difference between the expected and the actual shipping date. Cons There are often suggested alternatives to order requests that are listed that you have to ignore or reject, but this pays for the software...but they are occasionally useful. That is crucial as projects can be time sensitive and during peak season it is critical we can get product out the door fast. Pros The simplicity and ease in ordering. We generally reorder a lot of the same items for the lab. It's as simple as "request again" which saves time not having to re-input all the product information each time. Reason for choosing Quartzy Not sure how many alternatives we looked at, but the customer service rep walked our researcher through it and we determined that it would suit our small science company needs.
