Pros

I learned about GolfStatus through the Association of Fundraising Professionals. We were in the early planning phases and I reached out to GolfStatus and met Matt. Working with Matt was great! GolfStatus provides the tools we needed to be organized and professional. The registration and event day tools work well. Golfers enjoy the app and the live scoring leaderboard.

Cons

I'm not sure there is anything I don't like about GolfStatus.

We will continue to use GolfStatus for our events moving forward and I look forward to any expanded features they add.

Pros

GolfStatus provides a platform to make event management seamless. We've hosted our last two golf tournaments with a field of 144 golfers and numerous sponsors flawlessly because of GolfStatus. Registration is handled and having the contact information for all your users is helpful for pushing announcements and any follow up needed. The mobile app for in tournament is a great feature to keep up with the leaderboard and provides a great way to sell sponsorships since they are highlighted throughout the app. \[sensitive content hidden\] has been a huge resource from a customer service perspective to help when I am unable to handle things on my own or needs to be done quickly.

Cons

Some of the customizable features are challenging to navigate on the users end but having \[sensitive content hidden\] to help where needed makes it a null point for us.

The customer support is probably the top highlight of GolfStatus. \[sensitive content hidden\] was quick to respond when needed, and previous employees we have worked with had the same urgency. The platform has a sleek design and setup is pretty straightforward.

Cons

We were disappointed to learn that the discount codes now carry a cost with using them.

GolfStatus has the best visual appearance in our opinion vs the other products and the pricing was more favorable based on the functions we would be using. GolfStatus makes it much easier than just using Microsoft Excel.

Great software and tool, OUTSTANDING customer care/support. I've used other tools and pulled together my own tools (Constant Contact, Paypal, MailChimp...), GolfStatus made my life so much easier. I am a fan and loyal customer for life. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was an outstanding liaison from an account perspective and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was always there when we needed him for administrative/website support. Really impressed with the tool, but LOVED the support from start to finish.

Pros

The software was easy to use as the administrator and easy to use for our golfers and donors. Not complicated.

Cons

I would like to get the sponsors more "eyeball space", perhaps on the front page. I know the Tech Sponsor is a big deal for GolfStatus, but I don't like that we have to go to a separate tab to see the sponsors.I also would like to be able to load my marketing list and create an outreach tool via GolfStatus - I use Mailchimp, I'd rather get rid of that and have it all integrated into the same platform.

We have nothing but fantastic things to say about GolfStatus and all of the staff we have had the privilege of working with. Overall, they make sure you are taken care of and feel like a top priority to them. I cannot recommend them enough!

Pros

4 key points for us about this software: 1) The customer service is on point for GolfStatus. I think any question we have had has been answered within a 10 minute window and the staff has went above and beyond to make sure we understand things and are taken care of. 2) The appearance of the website: the interface is clean and direct. It's pretty simple to understand for users (and once you get the hang of it, the back end is pretty good as well!) 3) Setting things up: This is made easy for almost anyone to do. We love the features! 4) Payment: The site being tied to Stripe has made our lives so much easier! I cannot begin to talk about how many hours the website has saved us as a team in organizing the event.

Cons

There really are no big cons we can think of. If I was nitpicking it all, I would say there are some reports that could be easier to pull / run for the event -but that's really nitpicking at it.

### "Alleviate Your Admin Duties with GS!"

Overall experience was top-notch! The customer support as an admin was very hands-on as we prepped for our first event using GS. I loved that printouts were available already on how to use the app for scorekeeping. It made it easy for us to "sell" our participants on using the app over a paper scorecard.

Pros

I like that it's a one-stop shop with respect to scorekeeping and registration. Some sponsored items were easily ordered with GS's help, but I would appreciate even more involvement in this aspect of event planning. One of the major headaches I experience is ordering sponsored items off of 3rd party sites, proofing artwork, ensuring timely production and delivery, fronting the money, and requesting reimbursement from the sponsor. Lots of coordination! I appreciated the experience we had with GS and our pin flag sponsor, for example. Once the sponsorship slot was filled, all that was needed was the logo and payment to cover the expense. GS took care of the rest (thank you!).

Cons

As a person crunching the numbers and keeping tabs on all of our donors/contributions, it would be helpful if there was a download that has a comprehensive list of all participants (regardless of their classification) to see how are proceeds were derived from. Even having 1 tab on a download contain contact names, email addresses, package(s) purchased, and purchase amounts would have saved me some time grabbing information from different sources.

Reason for choosing GolfStatus

BPT is more of a means to collect sales on an event. As far as I know, it doesn't have the capabilities of interacting with participants other than accepting credit card payments. GS has 2 functions in my eyes -- a merchant processing platform and a scoring platform.

Overall, using GolfStatus helped us consolidate all contributions, payments, sponsorships and registrations into one easy to use platform. I would definitely recommend it!

Pros

GolfStatus made our lives so much easier! This was our first tournament and I was amazed at how easy GolfStatus was to use. All of our players, teams and sponsors registered online through the GS platform. They could easily select the sponsorship they wanted and go ahead and upload their logo. I loved that, if it were only one sponsorship offered, then GS would mark that as "sold" so you weren't selling sponsorships that were no longer available. We had several people mention how easy it was to register (easier than other platforms) and the reporting was super helpful for our own tracking purposes. They even added a donation link to our GS event, and we collected some unanticipated funds that way. Then at the end, they sent us a check with our funds (minus fees, which were minimal). The thing I liked the best, though, was the customer service. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\], our contact, was always there to help immediately if we needed help or had a question. On the day of our tournament, he was even on standby to make sure things went off without a hitch. Not many companies have the bandwidth to do that, and it made us feel much more confident using the platform.

Cons

There were a few adjustments that we wanted to make that, because of how the software was built, were not possible. We wanted to add fields on various pages, but some pages did not allow edits. But this did not impact our sales or the operations of the tournament in any way. More flexibility in editing the imagery and the pages in general would be helpful.

### "Golf Outing Management"

Our golf outing is an annual fundraiser for the boys' and girls' basketball programs at our high school. We typically have a full field for our golf outing, but it's not a fundraiser that's designed to raise tens of thousands of dollars. However, you never would have known that in dealing with GolfStatus. They treated us as if we were running the most prestigious golf outing in the world. We are very happy that we chose to use GolfStatus for our golf outing. Not only did it make publicizing and running our golf outing much easier, but GolfStatus's customer service and support were outstanding. They took the time to do an online demo while we were considering using the product. Once we decided to go with them, they created the website for us and then scheduled an online training session to teach us how to use and edit it. The week before the outing, they scheduled an online meeting with us in order to finalize any last-minute details and prepare us for what to do on the day of the outing. During the outing, their customer service was always available to answer any questions that we had. That was very impressive, especially considering that our outing was on a weekend. We couldn't be happier with our choice to use GolfStatus. We will use them again next year, and we would highly recommend them to anyone else who organizes and runs a golf outing.

Pros

The software made running our golf outing so much easier. We used GolfStatus in order to publicize our golf outing as well as to register golfers and donors online. Those were huge benefits for us as in the past we had to collect paper registration forms from each golfer and sponsor, and all payments had to be in the form of cash or check. It also greatly sped up the registration table on the day of our golf outing since all of our golfers had already registered and paid online beforehand. For the last several years, we've had a full field for our golf outing, and the waiting list was a nice feature because golfers could see who was already registered and know when the field was getting close to being full. This allowed us to have our field finalized much earlier than normal. The on-course scoring and skins tracking were game-changers for us as well. It saved us a tremendous amount of time at the end of the outing since we didn't have to sit down and figure out the golf outing winners and skins winners. The skins tracker was a fun feature for the golfers because they could see what skins were still available in real-time during the outing.

Cons

There really isn't much not to like. We are a nonprofit organization, so there was no cost for us to use the software, which was a huge benefit. If we could change anything, it would be to have an easier to way correct a team's scorecard while the golf outing was taking place. We had a team who mistakenly submitted their scorecard after the first hole, and it wasn't very easy to simply allow them back into the outing. To GolfStatus's credit, however, their customer service was online and helped walk us through how to get them back in the outing. It would also be nice if they had a built-in app for sponsors to resize their logos so that they fit the size requirements of the GolfStatus app. It wasn't difficult for us to do it using the software that GolfStatus recommended, but it did take some time as we had to do it for most of the sponsors since most didn't have the technology to resize their logos. Those were relatively minor hassles, however. The benefits of the GolfStatus app far outweigh any negatives.

It was great--the team at golf status is incredibly responsive and helpful! Again, I think if you’re looking for a quick, easy, and inexpensive golf tournament management software you’re in the right place.

Pros

I think its an easy registration software when you have a specific event like a golf tournament with 4 players on a team and holes etc.

Cons

Unfortunately, it was marketed to us as something that could be customized depending on our needs, and that was not entirely true due to the technological constraints on the software to be JUST for golf tournaments.

The biggest problem GolfStatus solved was automating the registration and payment process. It helped make that a lot less manual and alleviate the stress of chasing payments. It also made the event a lot more professional in my opinion.

Pros

The best features of the website were being able to register and pay online easily and be able to track teams, sponsorships, etc. I really liked the reports that were easy to generate such as scorecards, cart signs, player lists and more that saved me time on the back end. It was a nice feature to have the ability to pass on processing fees to participants so it does not take away from money for the fundraiser. I also cannot say enough about the customer service. Every time I had a question my account manager (Paul) promptly got back to me and was very helpful. In our post-event follow up, I shared by feedback and ideas to enhance the website further and it seemed like a lot of my ideas were already in the works so GolfStatus is constantly looking to improve and add new features such as invoicing, easier logo uploading, etc. that will make this an even better product in the future.

Cons

I wish there was a section I could add notes such as "paid by check, comping tee-sign, etc." I think some of the challenges for me was that there were still a good amount of people that wanted to pay check so I had to manage two systems (GolfStatus and a Google spreadsheet) which was time consuming. With the ability to send invoices in the future, hopefully that will be solved. I would like to see a tab where you are able to manage tee-signs in the future (i.e. company name, logo received, sign created, etc.)

Excellent from start to finish. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and team delivered in every way from the first demo, to having a useable live registration page up and running in short order. Every question along the way was answered in a very timely manner. Can't imagine a better experience especially given this was the first fundraiser golf event I've ever run.

Pros

GolfStatus platform is exactly as advertised. It takes the challenging, behind the scenes planning, tracking, and fundraising (and collecting!) and makes it a simple, significantly less stressful process. The technology itself, for me as an ADMIN, for the Golf Professional the "day of", and the end user agreeing to play and support, is very simple, intuitive, and user friendly.

Cons

First time user and frankly can't come up with anything to "improve" it!

Reason for choosing GolfStatus

What used to take hours of data mining in excel is now painless and available in one easy to use website. We will now be able to communicate with our golfers and export contact lists directly from golf status allowing us to eliminate so many steps. Golf Status believes in giving back. The non-profit side is incredible. We were able to receive our tournament income right away with no fees on the back end. Overall a great experience.

Pros

I loved the ease of use and the responsive team members at Golf Status. They helped us prepare the website and get communication out to our golfers and sponsors. Included with the app are branded and team specific cart signs, score cards, alpha lists, and so much more. On tournament day I felt more prepared than I ever had in my 5 years of planning this tournament.

Cons

I would love the ability to export reports in a variety of file formats. We also learned that flighting should take place prior to the tournament going live. This was a first year mistake, but it didn't impact play or the overall outcome of the tournament. We were able to recover and get prizes and flight info out still in minutes.

Overall, it was a great experience. Myself and a few others were in charge of planning a charity golf tournament for the first time, and GolfStatus made this manageable in many ways. The GolfStatus staff was there every step of the way to assist and ensure the event was a success.

Pros

GolfStatus was great from the start. We started with a virtual meeting to get our team introduced to GolfStatus, and everything started from there. \[sensitive content hidden\] and the entire GolfStatus team were extremely helpful and very proactive throughout the entire process which included setting up the website, fine tuning the website’s features, launching the website, and managing registration/donations/add-ons/etc.

Cons

The only con was with the mass email feature that allowed the admin to email all of the registrants. There were only so many words allowed in the email, and it was a little less than we would’ve liked in order to get all of the necessary information to the registrants.

Our overall experience with GolfStatus is an extremely positive one from pre-event, day of, and post event. The best part was the level of communication with our rep, \[sensitive content hidden\].

Pros

In 2023, our non-profit was putting on our first golf classic fundraiser. After months of trying to create the event (i.e. details, registration, etc.) on our website, it was clear that it would not be possible to do it by our registration launch date. Our \[sensitive content hidden\] found GolfStatus online, connected with a representative immediately and that rep was able to setup our golf event website in less than 5 days. The representative connected us with \[sensitive content hidden\], our account rep, who was instrumental in training us on the GolfStatus platform, available for Q&A with multiple departments in our organization, helped us troubleshoot, and took our feedback to GolfStatus who subsequently made the suggested changes to the platform. We couldn’t have done it without him. We were able to meet our registration launch date and went on to have a very successful golf event.

Cons

For the event page on the website, we were restricted from personalizing it to the level to which we are accustomed. Assembling golf teams could have been more user friendly. We were going to use the electronic disbursement option, but opted out when the process required access to all of our financials.

Pros

The software was intuitive and easy to use. And if there were any questions, our customer success specialist was there to assist.

I have given some of my recommendations already but there should be an app for doing things on the administrator's side. Currently you can only use the website to handle things, so having an app especially for day of event will be beneficial.

Overall, I feel lucky to have found this platform when I first started our annual outing. I had never run a golf outing and am not a golfer, so this make it really easy.

Pros

I like that it is structured specifically for golf outings and gives you all of the tools and reports you need to be organized and professional. I always get comments on how well our outings are run and Golf Status plays a huge part in that.

Cons

I would like the option to list sponsors according to their sponsorship level. It just groups them all together and doesn't allow us to recognize the different levels.
