Pros Its ability to support metrics received with the OTLP protocol allows for extended platform support, as well as allowing the use of a standard that is supported by many other platforms, facilitating easy platform migration. Cons Although it supports metrics, it does not support traces and logs, so to relate them other platforms are needed, and depending on the platform the integration could be more or less complex. Pros I have recently started using Prometheus for one of my projects. It is petty and much easy to use. It helped me monitor various matrices for my spring boot app. You can integrate this with graphene to get the data in a much cleaner and easier way. Cons There are no cons to using Prometheus. It is a great tool. I wish that I would have known about it before.
