The Tempo Capacity Planner is a helpful resource to manage and plan resource and team capacity. Once implementated, team capacity planning provides a good overview of stream workloads, enabling the teams to plan ahead and handle the workload proactively.

Pros

It has clean simple interface where multiple projects is clearly displayed along with the resources capacities and workload planning is clearly reflected. Works well for capacity planning , work load balancing and identifying potential clashes in schedule which can potentially impact deliverables. Planning process works intuitively and well integrated with collaboration workflow.

Cons

The reporting and dashboard customizability could also be increased – especially by teams that require in-depth views of their capacity. Some aspects of configuring complex planning features will require a bit of a learning curve when initially set up.

Just adapts well between Management expectations and actual bandwidth developed in reality. It is more informative about what our real team velocity is, rather than guessing. It is a good choice of software release management software for complex software releases.

Pros

I love Tempo because of its close integration with Jira. I always have to juggle between sprint tasks and quick fixes for bugs in the backend, database optimizations, and complex API integrations. Tempo provides our team with a visual cue of real availability prior to ticket assignment. It prevents management from allocating us on paper so that the deployment cycles are realistic and don't overwhelm the team.

Cons

Filtering resources across multiple dev teams can be a bit of a learning curve as it can become rather cluttered and busy in the UI. Besides, manually updating the scheduled capacity when priorities change in mid-sprint is somewhat cumbersome and tedious.

Tempo Capacity Planner has worked well for me.The tool allows the team to understand our team’s capacity better, visualize workload, allocate people resources, and identify potential clashes. It makes it easier to forecast and plan workloads more accurately. The ability to see who is available when is great.

Pros

Tempo Capacity Planner is particularly useful because it helps the organisation to visualize team’s workload and upcoming capacity. The planning interface is easy to browse and using the tool has helped the organization better allocate resources and thus improved cross-team coordination, while at the same time reducing the risk of overbooking important people in critical resources.

Cons

The reporting could stand to be more adaptable & customized Some users may need a brief transition into some of the advanced capabilities on this platform There is sometimes more effort involved in upgrading a plan or making any type of change than might be anticipated.

Loving the new Tempo Capacity Planner for our small team! As a team of meeting and event planners, Tempo allows us to assign the right planner to the job and provide them with the tools, resources and collaborators they need!

No cons thus far, we're still learning how to use it for forecasting but so far it has been incredibly user friendly and the entire team has adopted it seamlessly.

Pros

The only real pro here is that it links up to Tempo Timesheets and Jira if you are trying to avoid adding yet another plug-in or new tool.

Cons

Tempo planner is not very intuitive. There are other softwares that are much better for resource planning. It could be cool - but still needs more work on the UI and features.

Pros

It's super easy to log time within Jira. I can access time entry in a few different ways, so if I'm working on an issue, I can log it directly in the Jira task. I can also quickly run reports to assess burn and progress down to the specific issue or bug.

Cons

The search functionality within Jira is pretty awful. It works great in the mobile app, but I'm not going to use my phone to log time when everything else I do for work is in browser.
