Fantastic for automating all advertising reports. Pros You can integrate it with most advertising platforms (e.g. Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook, etc) and create dashboards which update automatically. Cons Sometimes the bar charts do not scale correctly. Integrations are free with other Google products however you need to buy third party data connectors to integrate with other advertising platforms. Not as advanced as Tableau. This has led to a broader "understanding," as well as more engagement in this project from users and developers alike. Pros I loved the fact that there are templates for interactive web page dashboards that help shortcut visualizations and common display formats for data. Other websites either lock you into a boring template or expect users/devs to reinvent the wheel. This allowed me to build momentum quickly. Cons I was not a fan of the additional charges for data connecters. Data from large social media sites or professional websites is often stuck behind a paywall, which is a bit aggravating. We use this in conjunction with Funnel.io and we get all our data in one place to make monthly reports. Cons Sometimes it takes FOREVER for data to load. Because of the limitations, I need to do some of this work in the database i'm connecting to rather than in the app itself No native connection with smartsheet or appsheet, so needed to use google sheets as an in-between. There was a third party connector for smartsheet but this attracts an additional cost. Pros Google Data Studio is an easy way to create clean looking reports for my team. It allows you to pull data from multiple platforms, there's lots of customization and you can schedule the reports to send out as needed. The final product looks clean and professional. Cons I regularly experience issues with data not matching Google Analytics. When the data is correct the tool is great but I spend a lot of time resetting the same search criteria in Google Analytics, only to find out the numbers are different and that I can't use the report.
