I would choose this 100% over any other bookkeeping system. Would be even better if they integrated more QB Desktop features into it. Pros Quickbooks is the best record keeping system there is. The ability to record all your transactions with ease makes it so worth the money. Cons Quickbooks online is a great system but opposed to Quickbooks desktop, it has a lot to catch up on. We love it. It’s faster, and I’ve you learn it, it’s easier to work with. Pros Financial reports are amazing. They make meetings so much easier. They are easier to sort, user friendly in breaking down the amounts and line items. Cons Customer service isn’t the best. We have many programs and use the "class" feature consistently. Pros It is easy and complete! It does everything we want it to do from entry to reports. I can't think of anything that could work better. Cons There really isn't anything that I can think of that I like the least about QuickBooks. Everything works very well. Review Source HH HILLARY H. I like QB payroll feature and how the integrate. If you have a larger company with a lot of transactions it can go bad easily and quickly. Pros The cloud feature that I can access anywhere. Cons From my math QBDT does end up being a lower cost overall (although the QBD version is getting more expensive by the day) Work flow in QBD is better/smoother, reports export to excel in a nicer layout. If you are tracking inventory for resale items in QB (if you aren't - you should be even if you don't have things on a shelf) - inventory is WAY easier to reconcile in QBD than QBO. QBD had lots better report options. Pros The ease of having all accounting info in one system. Ability to go back and see previous transactions. Fee is minimal for everything it does. Cons The reports are terrible. When you call for help the support staff doesn't know what you are talking about. This simplifies my bookkeeping by a ton. When it comes to having employees in quickbooks, I can't say enough good things. It's so seamless. Employees put in their info, and quickbooks takes care of their W-2's so I don't need to worry about that. They handle all of my employer taxes and make tax payments regularly so it takes that entirely off of my plate. Such an amazing software. Pros Quickbooks makes payroll for my small business EXTREMELY simple. They handle many things that I would be so lost trying to do myself. For the price, it's so worth it. Cons What I like least might be the "look" of the software. It may not be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and sometimes I can get confused where to find things. This is not an issue at all though, just a preference. It needs a bit cleaning up, but as you go through the cleaning process you get to understand the categories better and come up with a great organization of all your transactions and movements. Pros QuickBooks was perfect for me, a small business owner in need to organize all the business transactions in a way that lets me set up customized categories and have clear separation of cards and bank accounts. It also imported the information very quick into the system. Cons It was a bit difficult to understand without the proper guidance. Pros I use QuickBooks online for bookkeeping also integrate with other software for automate invoicing and billings Cons The price is a little steep for solopreneur and I'm locked in to a certain price that goes up from time to time. Pros Simple to use, lots of premade reports. For most things you can export to Excel and there's a good range of connectors to other products. Cons In the recent version making a batch journal entry at the end of the year requires you to have the accountants version. Seems mean that they've removed that option. Pros It pulls in the transactions from our bank account. Cons Sometimes when I log into Quickbooks online, I can't get into any of the functions. I have to log in and out several times. I can only use Quickbooks with Chrome. Today I am can create a customer but cannot create an invoice and have spend several hours trying to do so. This system is awful. I have to spend time changing systems so that I can use something when I need to and not when it wants or decides to start working for me. Originally I used it to track expenses as well as bill my clients and now I use it for those things as well as to gather important tax reports needed. Pros Quickbooks online is reasonably priced, is fairly easy to use even for someone who does not have financial background. Cons There is not really a lot I do not like about Quickbooks Online. Pros QuickBooks Online keeps invoicing and financial reporting tidy, and time tracking flows easily into billing drivers and dispatch activity. It is simple enough to interface that I can keep books in between load assignments. Cons Customer support is sluggish during heavy loads, and occasional bugs in bank feeds or report filters break up frequent reconciliations. I do not recommend it. I will be telling all the business owners I know to avoid using this and find another service provider that actually offers customer service when it is needed. Pros None. There are no upsides that I have to discuss here. Cons If I could give them zero stars I could. I have been back and forth with Quickbooks for over a month trying to figure out how to attain funds from a client. I have a bank slip from the client, and further evidence that this money should be on the way. Quickbooks has been inefficient, ineffective and completely inconsistent when dealing with this case. I have been on the phone for three hours, had to upload documentation twice to different case numbers and still have no resolution in sight. They have the worst customer service system I have ever seen. There is no way to talk to the same person again, which means you have to explain everything from the beginning every time you call in. Do not use this software. It's not worth the headache. Pros QuickBooks is so user-friendly and easy to keep track of all of our finances. Reports such as profit and loss, balance sheets, etc., are easy to generate and modify as needed. Cons There are times where all the options can feel overwhelming, but that really is more of a user issue which can be overcome through training and time spent on the program. Also the employees should NEVER tell an accountant that they do not understand how to collect payroll taxes when Quickbooks did not calculate the totals correctly. Example: the 941 report and the RT-6 state report had two different totals for total payroll for the same period. Pros Pros are that it is an online so it can be accessed by anyone from anywhere. It is also user friendly for non bookkeeper/accountant. Cons The Cons are that it allows non bookkeeper/accountants to do things that should not be allowed and should only be done by bookkeepers/accountant. When I want to print something I have to click between 5-8 times just to print. Also since the new update the clients checks they want to print are not in the list because you now have to click print later for it to show up that way. You messed up my payroll taxes. You locked me out of my account with no explanation. It turns out that someone in your company changed my employee's bank account information which we figured out on our own. You said you would email me in 24 to 48 hours. While I waited, I could not do payroll or get paid. I tried to report fraud but your machine hung up on me twice. I could not get a hold of anyone but the lowest level employee to help me and many of them did not know what they were doing. The feature I had that helped me pay my subcontractor stopped working. Your employee could not explain why this happened and would not connect me to someone who could explain it. Frankly, I believe you owe me money for all the time and extreme frustration and anxiety you caused me. I hope this review makes you pay in a different way.” Pros It saved me time. I was able to automate many features. I had everything in one place. Cons Customer service was horrific. You can only speak to the lowest level employee. If you have a major problem you will need to wait for an email. I spent many hours on the phone with their employees who had to get their information via chat on their computer.
