It is cloud-based, which is quite advantageous since you can log in everywhere, provided you have access to the internet. With this, it is also easy to manage documents; you may easily locate files later on by attaching them directly to expenses in the software. Cons On the other hand, I stopped using it, though, because it is a little more expensive than other comparable alternatives. Only requires basic internet abilities. But a little slow and clunky for fast paced efficient workflow. Cons Sometimes the Quickbooks UI can be a bit clunky, the transactions tab can take a long while to load, and there is a high initial learning curve for beginners. Pros Ease of use. The reports are great too. The reports help me keep the expenses and profit and loss organized Cons Entering vendors can be a pain sometimes. Sometimes the system has a lag. It used to be so much harder to navigate. Cons I’d say the searching for answers or help with using the software could be improved slightly. I found myself using YouTube and Google a lot. It was a good experience and getting adjusted took no time at all. I have not encountered any bugs or issues so far. Pros I am a user of quickbooks, the film studio I work at uses it for logging time and converting it to hours for bill for the client invoice. I like how it's easy to log time and straight forward if I need to make any changes. As a user I get to use quickbooks online for free. Cons I wish aside from generating invoices for the client it could also convert into hours for my own paycheck. I was able to keep track of who owed me money and send all of my estimates through it. There were just a few things it was lacking like taking notes and being able to schedule jobs or putting my contract in to the estimate to send to my clients. Pros I liked that I could invoice my clients on the job and collect the payment while on the job also. Cons I couldn't do everything in one app. When I went to do estimates I would have to use a different app to take my notes and then transfer everything over to QB to send my estimate out. Pros The only thing I like about Quickbooks Online is the portability. You can easily access your account as long as you have a good strong Internet signal. Cons Quickbooks Online is not for the inexperienced bookkeeper. The bank feeds seen so easy and accurate until you start to look for a transaction. Sometimes it will say it is auto expense and sometimes it will say it’s a loan or maybe supplies… it isn’t consistent and you must know basic accounting before you attempt to start trusting their classifications. Seems like the bare minimum for a small company but it meets our needs at the moment. Pros Sending Invoices is super easy. You can copy the previous invoice and do edits before sending. It makes tracking down customer payments very easy. Cons Limited job costing features. It has made a major impact on the book keeping in house for the accounting department. As well as a nice system to track some of the inventory. Pros Tracking day to day expenses and managing multiple bank account and credit cards of different proprietors in once place is extremely convenient. Cons QuickBooks updates online and then help fixing them is not always the fastest. Pros I used this specifically for invoicing, and found it straightforward and easy to use. The starter plan was also good value when I was starting out. Cons I didn't use it extensively enough to say there were things for me to dislike. It worked, and worked well for my use cases. The layout makes it easy to find out what you need and for the most part, it is very user friendly. I caught on quickly to how it worked, and if there were questions, I was able to find the answer relatively quickly. Once thing that did cause issues was account syncing, where it would communicate with external bank accounts or credit cards to pull transactions. Sometimes they would not sync properly and It would take time to troubleshoot. Pros I liked how easy it was to use from day one. Creating an account was easy and extensive training was not required. It is very user friendly for the average person. Cons Account syncing would disconnect frequently, causing issues. The cost can also be high, depending on the level of service you need. Cons I'd prefer longer timelines of financial reporting; I have been unable to access my 'year to date' i.e. total year amount for 2025 without looking for it on tax documentation. I find it easy, clear, efficient, and straight forward. I am happy with the system and will continue to use it for all of my bookkeeping needs. Pros I find QuickBooks to be very user friendly and easy to learn. There are a few different ways to complete each action but all are intuitive and easy to find from their menu bars. Cons I wish that frequently used descriptions would pop up automatically in the description boxes on bills and invoices. I have to type in the same entry multiple times. If the system recognized them and automatically populated the box, it would save a lot of time. Only other thing it's always updated with the newer software and you get surprised that all of a sudden things are different. I categorize the expenses monthly and our external accountant reconcilie the accounts guaranteeing the controls that the auditors require of us. Pros I like that it is very easy to use. I taught myself how to input the accounting without having any business background. I have learned how to create the financial reports that the board asks me just by using the search tools. Cons I was not easy to get it set up because I'm the director of an organization that is under a parents organization and it took me about 2 months to get access.
