I love using QB for my personal businesses as they are small. I loved using QB in a start up until we became too big and the software couldn't cope. Finding someone to help was virtually improssible Pros Great value for money for small companies. Very easy to use for accounting and non accounting employees Cons The product does not scale with the company. Ran into multiple problems when we became too big for quickbooks. Pros What I like most about QuickBooks is how efficient and organized it makes my day-to-day tasks as an office manager. I can easily track project expenses, generate accurate invoices, and reconcile accounts all in one place. The interface is user-friendly, and the ability to customize reports by job or vendor helps us keep a clear view of where money is going. It also simplifies payroll and makes tax time much less stressful. QuickBooks keeps our financial operations smooth, professional, and easy to manage, it’s truly a vital part of how I support the team. Cons What I like least about QuickBooks is that some of the job costing features could be more flexible and easier to customize for the way construction projects are tracked. We have been using this product for many years now. We use QuickBooks Online on a daily bases. We can add deposits and everything! Pros QuickBooks Online is great for our small business. We can invoice our customers, keep contact info about our customers. Its pretty simple to use as well! Cons The only thing that we have come to find that we dislike about QuickBooks would be their updates. Pros I’ve had a great overall experience using QuickBooks Online as an accountant. The interface is seamless and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and collaborate with clients. I especially appreciate that the platform is free for accountants and that the accountant dashboard allows me to easily view and manage all my clients in one place. Sharing access with clients and guiding them through their books is very straightforward, which makes collaboration much easier. Most of my clients enjoy using it as well, and the Essentials version is usually the best fit for their needs. Cons The only downside I’ve experienced is with payment processing. Early on, I had issues accepting payments that support wasn’t able to fully resolve, and I still occasionally run into the same problem. I also have used for personal accounting, and the reports are easy to generate and read. Pros Quickbooks Online, or QBO, is a great tool to get any small to midsize business accounted for. It also goes beyond just bookkeeping with tools to help with cash flow planning, invoicing, and reporting capabilities. I like the fact that it integrates well with other apps and software as well. Cons I don't like that there are some frequent outages. Also sometimes it can be hard to get representatives that know the answer right away and can help in a timely fashion. The software is user-friendly, effective at tracking customer financial records, and anticipates users' needs by offering an array of reporting features. Pros What I like most about the software is the invoicing capabilities. As someone who primarily uses the software in a development capacity, I send invoices to donors and sponsors. Not only is creating invoices easy to navigate for the user, but clear, easy-to-read records are kept, making it easy to track customer history (paid invoices, overdue invoices, etc.) and pull financial reports. All the essential features for invoicing are included, including adding necessary attachments and customizable classes and categories. As someone who works with multiple team members on invoicing, it is also helpful to be able to review an invoice's transaction history. President Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Payroll Tax Support and ProAdvisor Support gets 1 Star!!!" July 28, 2025 1.0 My overall experience has been okay. There has been a few times over the last five years that there was a glitch in their software (sales tax at one point and bank connectivity issues) where they had to escalate the the problem to a higher level. Pros QuickBooks On-line is generally easy to use if you have a good understanding of how QuickBooks Online works, and accounting principles to properly set up chart of accounts, and to properly categorize. If you don't know what you are doing, you can make a big mess quite quickly causing inflating income or expenses from duplicated transactions, and chart of account set-up errors. Cons Customer service is good if you come to them with basic software understanding questions. If you have payroll tax or ProAdvisor Profile issues they are awful!!! They send you generic 'do not reply' emails that say the same thing over and over again. I have them file my payroll taxes. They messed up, on a couple of situations. The IRS sent me a letter stating they would levy my account if I didn't make a payment. As far as the ProAdvisor Profile, after 5 generic rejection emails, and 8 to 10 (no exaggerations) phone calls to Intuit, it still isn't fixed. They don't allow you to speak directly to the person who sends the emails, and they don't know how to fix the issue themselves. Review Source JI Jess I. It is a very easy platform to navigate through and learn as you go. It's also so widely used that most accountants know how to work it. Pros Value for Money, User Friendly, Invoicing, I thought it was easy to navigate around. Could easily set up users and liked that we could give them specific roles. Cons Dimension Tracking, More In depth tracking for cost codes, equipment usage. Customer Service was difficult. We did have payroll with QB, but anytime we needed help with something their customer service across the whole platform was horrible. Usually someone who didn't even have any training in the platform. We could usually research the problem on the internet before they could figure out a solution. As stated, the changes without warning are trying at times. Pros QB online has a lot of great features to help manage your business. I've been a QB user since 1996 and I wouldn't switch despite the ever-increasing cost. Cons Intuit does like to change the dashboard around without any warning, making it hard to find links you've gotten used to. The rapid inclusion of Artificial "Intelligence" is also quite annoying. The software isn't getting better, but the price is getting worse. Pros I like the invoice aspect quite a bit. The actual input and output of the journal entries and transactions is pretty good. The reporting on the financial aspects is intuitive. Cons Too many pop ups. I don't need financing. Please stop with the constant garbage on the screen. There are actually no easy way to customize and eliminate many items I don't use. Whilst the market seems to have become more competitive now I thought QB was the software that made a difference to the speed and ease of use of having to deal with accounts and payroll. There were no major issues with it and it has become more sophisticated in recent years. Pros Easy to use, well structured, straightforward invoicing along with receipt recording for expenses. Payroll has always been easy also and reporting simple. Cons Not much actually. When I first started using it was a step up from previous software so there weren't many issues with it. Integration with Jobber has not been the easiest and I would like this process to have been more smooth ideally.
