There are never ending features to tap into. Pros I like that it can be accessed by several people. I love the price. I love that the software continues to get better with requests from customers. Cons I don't like that it works to ensure that people without an accounting background can record data accurately however its not as useful when you know what the accounting that you want to do but not sure how the buttons interact with the GL. Project Engineer Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Quickbooks is "legally" Stealing and Withholding Payments " July 11, 2025 1.0 We swapped payments to another vendor Wednesday and have already been paid by our customers without delay. At this point QBO intentionally hires customer service reps to stonewall any real customer service. They do not care about their customers because they are the defacto. Do not let them continue to survive as a business. Pros Nothing. We have been a customer of theirs since 2019 billing and receiving payments weekly. In June we swapped to QBO from Desktop to make things easier. A bigger lie has never been told. Cons 1: Our flat rate for receiving payments disappeared and was replaced by a 1% fee. Each payment from our customers turned this from a small flat fee to hundreds of dollars. This is "legal stealing." Support claimed it was because we had swapped and QBO was treating us as a "new" company since June. 2: We've been in business with them weekly since 2019 and we were called "new." No one at QBO support wanted to look into this or help. It felt like they were intentionally told to stonewall everyone no matter what. 3: Two different times now on top of them stealing money per transaction they've randomly placed our account in review. This puts ALL deposits on hold. As of now Quickbooks is withholding over $150k from money paid to us last week by our customers and refuses to help expedite. 4: I have to run a Google Sheets script to correct the reports it runs. Office Manager CFO Consumer Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Solid Choice for Small Business Accounting" September 4, 2025 5.0 My overall experience with QuickBooks Online has been very good. It makes it easy to manage my business finances in one place, from tracking expenses and income to sending invoices and running reports. I especially like the convenience of being able to log in from anywhere, which helps me stay on top of things even when I’m busy. While it can take some time to learn all the features and the cost can add up, the efficiency and peace of mind it provides make it worth it. Pros What I like most about QuickBooks Online is how easy it is to keep everything in one place. It’s simple to track income and expenses, send invoices, and pull reports without a lot of extra steps. I also like that I can log in from anywhere, which makes it really convenient. Cons The part I like least is that some of the features can feel a little overwhelming at first, especially if you’re new to accounting software. It is easy to attach your bank accounts, reconcile transactions, and track your transactions for auditing purposes. Pros What I like most about QuickBooks Online is the ease of processing automatic payments and the accuracy of the bank transactions. QuickBooks Online is very easy to navigate. Cons I do not have a least thing that I liked about QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Online is very efficient and accurate. Easy to use for employees, great customer support services, quick information at my fingertips, without having to bother a superior staff member. I would recommend this to companies looking for a cloud-based accounting software! Pros Being an employee, that used QuickBooks Online, it was quite easy to use! To be able to track your pay and have things at my, the employee's, fingertips was a huge help. Customer support was always a quick call or email away; I never had to wait long to get a solution to any problem. Good value for the money the company spent! Cons Sometimes there was too much information overload; lots of screens and steps that could be confusing at times. However, customer support was always helpful in these situations. The help desk is easy to contact and I feel confident that when I call them, I will speaking to someone in America whose accent I have no problems understanding. Pros QuickBooks Online syncs my bank accounts for real-time financial information and makes it easy to match transactions across accounts. Cons QuickBooks online frequently makes updates to the appearance and organization of the platform - just when you get used to the new update, it seems to change again. This results in disrupted work flow and loss of productivity while learning the new platform. Users should be given the option to use the updated layouts or keep the one they were previously using with NO changes. Additionally, changing which bank account is used for payroll funds/paycheck payments (for the company, not for the employee) is challenging. There are multiple settings that need to be updated, including one setting which is unknown to users (settings>payroll settings>accounting>sync to current QBO account). How would anyone know that needs to be updated to finalize the account change without calling the help desk? Alternatives considered [Sage Construction Suite](https://www.capterra.com/p/154874/Sage-Construction-Suite/) Reason for choosing QuickBooks Online I was already familiar with QuickBooks desktop and my CPA recommended QuickBooks Online because they were also familiar with it. It has helped automate and store so much information for me that would otherwise be a major headache! Pros Quickbooks online as a payment processor works fantastic, especially with bank transfers at 1% for the more consistent transactions! The process from estimates to completed invoices and payments is very streamlined. Options for text or email make it great for on the go payment processing while on the job. Cons The app does change interface often with its many updates. So the only qualm would be that the app looks different and buttons may be in different locations but it’s really a personal complaint as the updates always end up streamlining even more! It's easy to use, and has a variety of products. I liked how responsive they were when I needed support troubleshooting. As much as I appreciate the positioning with NYC SBS years ago, while developing my consultancy, QuickBooks left me feeling like "wow, I thought we were friends." With the increases year after year, to an extreme amount, we definitely are not friends. Pros What I most liked about Quickbooks online, as a small business \[sensitive content hidden\] was the product represented in important educational seminars and learning experiences through NYC Small Business Services. That eased anxiety with using the fintech solution. Cons The increases became so extreme I had to stop using QuickBooks. I don't consider this scalable or a good use of budget any longer, and I don't feel valued as a small business \[sensitive content hidden\] . We're just not the same as mid-level or large organizations, which is especially true for independent consultants. October 17, 2025 5.0 For our small company, we use QBO daily for all the accounting within the company, including payroll. Pros Quickbooks online is an easy to use program that is great for our business needs. The cost is economical for the amount we use it for as well which includes posting expenses, and importing invoices from our main CRM. The customer support is usually pretty good as well. The financial reporting is robust and provides all the information we need! Cons There are sometimes bugs in the system which are usually resolved by the QBO team in a timely matter, though it takes some time to recognize what is an actual bug or not. Cons The speed is quite slow. When I used QuickBooks Desktop before, everything loaded much faster, so my work was more efficient. Cons Sometimes the Tasks do not show up and have to refresh the page several times. In Tasks, once I approve and save it does not refresh the list right away. I have had very few interactions with customer support; however, support has been somewhat okay for the times that I need them. I would say I appreciate that I rarely need to call customer support. It’s been good overall, as I have no experience with bookkeeping and have been able to implement with mostly ease. We did have a major issue with support when my transactions weren’t coming in. I got a lot of different answers and it took months to actually resolve the issue. Pros QuickBooks has a lot of great features. We love that it integrates with bank accounts to automatically bring in transactions. We also love once you have categorized it recognizes similar transactions and auto categorizes them moving forward. It is pretty user friendly for even inexperienced bookkeepers. It also has a lot of great reports to utilize for understanding finances. Cons The automatch system doesn’t always work. I love how the transactions flow into their automatically and are easy to categorize for bookkeeping. Reports are easy to pull. Customer service is good. They really do seem to care and try and help, but there have been times it takes awhile as they have to continually put me on hold to check with others on solving the issue. Cons The occasional issue or glitch with credit card batch transactions not matching up, and there not being a great way to fix it. For the most part, it functions well and most beginners can be able to do quite a bit of work using the software. " April 3, 2026 5.0 I really enjoy the program and I think it is very user friendly and great for small businesses that are looking for a program to use for paying employees. Pros You can get your payroll done within no time. It takes us under an hour to get checks out for the 8 people at the firm. Cons If you do not update the program regularly you can run into issues but that is the only complaint that I have.
