I would definitely recommend a 3rd party to move from desktop to online version. I did so; and I lost no data from the move.

Pros

I absolutely love that one can attach invoice copies and receipts to payables. It's all in one place and I rely less on paper copies.

Cons

Versus the desktop version, the reporting doesn't seem as robust and customizable.

It's not as user friendly as I would have hoped. I spend more time cleaning up clients QBO accounts than I ever did with QBD.

Pros

I like the fact you can access from anywhere. I also like the connection with financial accounts.

Cons

The features of QBD are more user friendly than the online version. Only using QBO because QBD is too expensive now that QB's requires an annual subscription and reducing support of QBD.

We were having trouble producing professional reports using Tally ERP 9, so we successfully implemented QBO software in our company. It has been in use at our company for the past year, and we strongly suggest it to small and medium-sized businesses.

Pros

\- Easy to use and organize business finances in one place. - It can be accessed from anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. - QuickBooks makes GST compliance simple. - Professional reports are generated as a result of effective data communication. - QBO preserves data integrity and provides complete control over business data. - Improved and professional dashboard.

Cons

\- It would be better to see more customization options in reports and templates. - There is no toll-free number listed on the QBO India website for contacting them. - Inflexibility to amend the currency for a vendor. - Online support could be better.

### "QuickBooks Online has changed my life"

QBO has been life-changing for me and my practice. I have clients all over the country, without QBO is could not have grown my business at the same rate.

Pros

I love the QBO eco-system. The eco-system allows me to offer more resources and solutions to my clients. QBO doesn't have to do it all for all industries, it just has to partner with 3rd party app developers that are specialists in their industries.

Cons

There is a lack of communication from Intuit / QuickBooks. For example, if a user can't access their company file, they don't know if it's a QuickBooks issue, an internet issue, a browser issue or user error. I wish QuickBooks would send an email that says QBO is down for an hour. And if a function is not working, let us know, keep us informed of progress made.

The software is extremely solid with yearly updates and new features being added on a regular basis. Its great support and acceptance make it the gold standard for small enterprises.

Pros

The software has tremendous support from Intuit as well as 3rd-party vendors. The software has an incredible number of features that you can select from which to customize for your specific business environment.

Cons

Sometimes there are multiple ways to enter information and that can be confusing as to which one is ideal for your company.

My overall experience is okay. I like how easy it is to input my expenses, but I don't like how the quickbooks account is set up.

Pros

I like how easy it is to access your reports. I like how easy it is to keep up with your business expenses.

Cons

Bad customer service. They send you from one person to the next and no one seems to resolve your problem. They will make a case for you after going through all the necessary steps, but never contact you back. I have called multiple times about my case to be told "we will email you when the case is settled." I have been waiting on a case to be resolved for over 6 months now.

Again, the biggest benefit is being able to see your information from anywhere. All you need is access to a computer and the internet.

Pros

Being able to access Quickbooks Online from anywhere is the biggest perk. You don't have to remote login to a computer to be able to access your information.

Cons

There is very little to not like about Quickbooks Online. The functionality is the same as the desktop version in my opinion. It takes a little bit to get use to but when you do there is no going back. The really listen to their customers suggestions as well. This means they are always updating the program to add new features at no additional cost to the consumer.

I hate you.

Pros

We liked that it was online and not on our server. That is why we switched from Desktop to Online. VERY BRIEFLY.

Cons

Billing was difficult to use. Payroll was difficult to use. Employee documents were difficult to add or access. Basically, if we had not seen what a software SHOULd be like and how user friendly it can be in the desktop version, we maybe would not have hated this version so much. But we did and we do. Things that were entered kept disappearing. Payroll made me go to a different screen to change the pay rate for drivers (ours changes every payroll). If you change your mind and want to convert BACK to desktop - you will lose a large portion of your data. It's almost impossible for it to work. We even hired an outside company to help and they couldn't do it either. Had to restore from a backup and recreate 3 months of data.

its a great decisive move to go for Quickbooks as it contains all you could look for even in standard or simple mode

Pros

Simple interface: Even if you need to handle complicated transactions, the QuickBooks Online interface is exceptionally simple to understand and adapt to. The program has a color-coded interface that allows users to simply access every option and feature, ensuring easy navigation.

Cons

Only the Advanced plan, which is six times more expensive than QuickBooks Online's Simple Start plan, allows for automatic routing of bills on an approval workflow or informing clients of accepted payments. Users must manually monitor due-date transactions such as deposits, payments and invoices

It's pleasantly stuck in a limbo. However, on the other hand, Intuit's plan of action isn't about that mid-level, mid-range. It's about passage level for them.

With QuickBooks you get all accessibility to your business needs. The platform gives you full control of your business cash flow, inventory control, being able to manage your expenses as well as allowing you to make outgoing transactions.

Cons

The least about this product software is that I didn't know about it sooner!

Customer service is a lot better - you used to be on hold for 30 plus minutes - now it is 5 minutes max to get connected to customer service rep. BUT - they need a lot more training - it takes about 30 minutes to get verified and then for them to truly understand your problem - but then 90% of the time they can't solve your problem and they have to escalate it.

Pros

It is easy to learn. The creation of the vendor PO - to bill - to payment - is great. The reports are easy to run

Cons

DO NOT use this if you have inventory. The system doesn't really work - my detail reports don't match the summary reports and QBO tries to do costing in the background and it is wrong

We are using QuickBooks only for accounting. We also used if for payroll for a number of years, but there are better payroll systems available out there

Pros

This accounting software covers all the areas needed to track and manage your accounting needs. It is set up so you put all the information in the right places and then the info is there to retrieve and use as needed.

Cons

The software is not quite as customizable as advertised. We tried to run our repair service shop with it completely, using Sales Orders and Purchase orders, but it was very cumbersome and awkward for that. It is meant to be an accounting program only, not a service program like the sales people said it would work.

Reason for choosing QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks promised to be a more comprehensive accounting product, with optional add-ons (to be purchased) and it did actually have a pretty good inventory tracking system, which we used for a number of years as well.

### "The perfect fit"

The go-to book-keeping software. It's just right...

Pros

I love that there are many packages available so that I can get just what I need to fit MY business. There is software out there that is a "one-size-fits-all" and you end up paying for services you don't need or not getting the services you DO need. That's not the case with Quickbooks. I am a contractor and I got Quickbooks Online Plus and I can track projects, 1099's, payroll, and all of the simple book-keeping. The projects feature is amazing as I can categorize transactions per job and know my profitability on a particular job with a few clicks. The reporting is great. I give my accountant the login information and at the end of the year, he logs in and does my taxes for me. The mobile app is perfect for bookwork on the go. Snap a picture of the receipt, tag it to a project and account and it's all taken care of. It links to all my bank accounts and cards so I have everything all in one place. I can access it from anywhere and don't need to download anything as I can use the web app in any browser. It's the perfect fit.

Cons

Cons? Well, I guess it could be free... but it saves me more than the subscription rate in time, reporting, and paperwork, so for me, it technically is free...

QuickBooks has allowed our company to save a lot of money when it comes to accounting and payroll. We are a small business who used to pay a CPA a lot of money to run our finances. Now, I am able to run everything through QuickBooks myself and just have a CPA review everything a few times per year. It saves us so much time and money, we will never use any other product!

Pros

The ease of use is incomparable to any other product out there. I have used other accounting software that was confusing and time consuming. QuickBooks is easy enough for anyone to use, I even taught myself! I use it to balance accounts, print checks, payroll, and to communicate with our accountant.

Cons

Honestly, there aren't any cons I can think of with this product.

### "False Advertising and Poor Customer Support"

Horrible experience with poor customer support, poor documentation, false advertising, high fees, long payment delay, Bad platform for hourly billing. The essentials is different upon subscription than it is advertised, buyer beware.

Pros

This is the most used online accounting software, so it integrates with many other platforms.

Cons

There is something very dishonest about the way that they hide the essentials subscription option at different moments from being available and visible, even in their own internal systems to their sales/customer support. And in looking at the essentials platform, they advertise it as supporting hourly billing by customer, but then when subscribed to that plan, it is missing and they say you need to subscribe to plus instead. In receiving payments, there is a delay in getting paid and it is very expensive.

Reason for choosing QuickBooks Online

Because they false advertised the features in Essentials platform. Canceling subscription and moving away to Wave and Bill4time.

Straight forward billing processes are available within the software. Easy to access remote due to online availability.

Cons

It seems like features are always changing which can be annoying. Support usually offers advice to clear internet cache or use a different web browser, but those are not always solutions.

QuickBooks Online saves our time and effort managing our finances and accounting. Provides access to our accountant during the annual audit process. I share the invoice with our customers easily, although I want the invoice to be simplified to understand. My accounting has generally improved visibly. It helps to check how much money we really have in the account at all times. When we can reconcile accounts, it becomes much faster, with little or no error as it pulls the bank account information daily to match what we did.

Pros

It is reliable software, so it is used by millions of people. It allowed me to make my own books and have my independent accounting. Reports can be customized to suit my individual needs. Another benefit is that you can add your accountant as a user to keep everything electronic and this has greatly improved my management and financial forecasts.

Cons

It is quite complex for those who do not have some kind of financial experience because it has many resources to understand and use. Payroll upgrade is as expensive as hiring an accountant to do accounting. Quickbooks allow you freedom, but it must have a built-in payroll feature or at least keep prices competitive. With this, I imagine it is better for those who may perform independent accounting.

### "Quickbooks Online is not nearly as good as the desktop version"

Don't like it, much prefer desktop. Would not use it if I had a choice.

Pros

Automatic reconciliation with bank feeds enabled. My clients like that they have access to their books all the time. Sometimes this is good for me (like when I don't have to send Desktop files back and forth) and sometimes it is bad (like when they go in and change things without telling me).

Cons

Hard to navigate, missing many of the features of Quickbooks desktop. Not as customizable. Clients tend to set up rules for bank feeds and then just accept what the rule is suggesting rather than actually looking at the transaction. Results in lots of transactions in the wrong place.

Didn't choose, clients came to me already using it.
