There are major limitations when attempting to modify data within the software or correct recording errors. They advertise that any business owner can do everything themselves in the software but in practice most of the things business owners do are inaccurate. Pros I like that you can log into the software from any location. I like that I can talk to my clients while both of us are using the software in real time. Cons I do not like that QBO is constantly increasing their rates. They have made the software substantially more expensive since they came out with the product. Every feature of the software is now an additional charge. The transition from the traditional program as seamless and we were so happy that we made the switch! QB Online's customer support is top notch and wonderful to work with. Pros Extremely easy to use and is beyond user friendly. Makes daily bookkeeping takes simple. Design is super clean and the program is super quick. I love that you can customize your invoices, as well as your email when reaching out to clients. Cons There isn't much that I dislike but I would say that sometimes check numbers or dates change randomly when moving to a new screen. Reporting is also very convenient. Cons It's con is also a pro. Unlike the old Quicken where you could delete entries, QuickBooks has gone the way of all legitimate bookkeeping programs where errors need to be corrected through reversals and/or journal entries so that everything ever done in the account can be seen. Pros The team behind QBOA is constantly listening and improving the product. It makes my life so much easier to have all my clients int he same place. I can schedule my own work with reminders and to-do list for both me and my clients. The added feature of having my clients files at a click of a button in priceless. I also appreciate the ability to add non-QBO clients now. Cons Sometimes the interface and/or the links don't work for the training and ProAdvisor page. These don't have anything to do with the client files just resources for me but it can be annoying at times. I also have my doubts the info regarding the profile views and leads from prospective clients is accurate. Pros Due to the quickness and accuracy, it was really helpful to be able to track my stock as it was received and shipped out. Trade Gecko would complete a sell and track stock in a single step where free applications would require a million steps to do so. Pros I like that it tracks everything for me. My only responsibility is to ensure everything is captured and assigned correctly. After QB recognizes the same thing, it automatically assigns such as internet expenses, federal taxes, etc. Cons I feel for the price, everything should be included. I like that I can even pay my vendors through Quickbooks Online in conjunction with using Online Bill Pay. It's a fast and efficient way to pay my bills electronically, plus it is always safe to use! I can also receive payments for my various products with Quickbooks Online and although the software is not free it is definitely worth the small monthly payment. Pros What I like most about using Quickbooks Online is that I can use different classes meaning different payment transactions for the various different departments which brings in sales within my bridal store business. Types may be also be assigned for each one of my individual vendors therefore my sales invoices remain really accurate as per department. All of my sales invoices are always up to date simply by using my Quickbooks Online software! Cons What I like least about using Quickbooks Online is that I am always aware of the fact that the software is cloud based. This fact used to make me feel very paranoid in the beginning couple of days of using the software, but with its great features and friendly user abilities all of my fears soon faded away. Plus I have come to know that Quickbooks Online is really safe to use! Although some people do still mind having their company's invoices and financial records stored online on the cloud instead of the way that Quickbooks does it which is storing all of that sensitive information right there on your desktop computer. I don't worry that transactions for me to mark are coming in. Cons The workflow to review transactions, mark their category, and match them with receipts is incredibly wonky and requires me to keep multiple tabs open to flip back and forth between uploaded receipts and the expenses page. I do A LOT of business overseas, so my 'receipts' in local currency nearly never match the transactions written in dollars, which shouldn't necessarily be a problem - but requires a lot of manual work on my end to do the checking. Plus - it isn't clear how to handle 'reoccurring' expenses - so, so, so many kinds of B2B software out there is now on a subscription model, where I get billed every month. As a SMB, how do I 'attach' a receipt to each month's payment? For the cost of your software, (and given your relationship with TurboTax via Intuit) you really could do more to help SMB's manage and navigate some of the pitfalls of filing corporate taxes BEFORE tax season hits. I also REALLY wish there was more of a budgeting and not just accounting aspect to the program. I'd like to see more clearly what I'm spending my money on and what money I have yet to spend on certain types of items. Pros Quickbooks allowed us to manage our money without having to use our accountant every month. Over the course of a year, this saved us thousands of dollars. We were able to track our invoices, accounts payable, and receivables and run financial reports. At the tier we used, we were allowed 3-users for the software, which meant the responsibility didn't become a burden to just one person for our small team. Cons Of all of the accounting software platforms we looked at Quickbooks was the most expensive. Each pricing tier unlocks more features, this means to utilize the software to the fullest extent you may be paying over $100/month. I can't wait to look back over our records and watch how much we've grown in a few years. TG has offered us above-standard integration of inventory management as well as our costs of purchase orders, which factor into profit reports per item over time as a "Moving Average Cost" (MAC). As a manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer, we have been able to use this and the "Buy Price" per Purchase Order to track our cost of goods (basically, we calculate that externally and mark it in the Buy Price of an item in a fresh Purchase Order - the MAC is adjusted over time to reflect profit margins as cost of goods varies by batch). One of the most exciting things about TG is their dedication to growth, which is based almost entirely off of customer feedback. We're very excited to watch the development of TG's manufacturer tracking services, which hopefully soon will allow us to calculate and track cost of goods by individual ingredient. As enthused community participants, TG has also given us beta access to cutting edge services that have already cut out our need for other 4th/5th party subscriptions. I feel like eventually TG will be our all around blanket production & sales management interface, and I look forward to that. For now, it's still more versatile than any other SCM solution I've tested, at least without paying $2,000+/mo, and as far as I can tell TG will remain useful as we grow through our business plan and even incorporate. TG has also allowed us to seamlessly integrate with our complex Woo Commerce shopping cart, which we use across multiple sales channels within a Word Press server. TG can track sales back to the individual channel and automate reports to our customers that reflect the proper brands and stores. This has been invaluable to our growth and expansion, and will continue to be for years to come. If you're frustrated and can't figure out which SCM or inventory management solution to choose in the vast sea of services, if nothing else try TG for their outstanding customer support. My favorite part about TG is that no matter what I need to know, figure out, or sometimes even invent, the staff is extremely patient and they know the interface in and out ' I've yet to try to do something within reason that couldn't be done, and it's never taken a CSR more than 2 days to thoroughly teach me how to do it. I never cease to be impressed how the TG team has anticipated every capability businesses such as ours need. Customer support is the best I have experienced in years. Rather than locking you into its own system, TG is an open system that facilitates working with other software and programs. Two TradeGecko (TG) features are essential for us. For customer order entry, TG allows us to automatically import orders from our website, Excel files, and its B2B. Manual entry possible. TG generates attractive invoices, packing lists and enables easy e-mail communication. Our supply chain is 5-6 months so inventory management is an essential 2nd feature. TG provides great functionality and is very easy to update. We always know exactly where we stand with inventory issues. Reporting is a 3rd valuable feature. TG provides invaluable data on individual customer and products. We don't yet integrate TG with our accounting and many of its partners but we plan to begin doing so in 2017. Pros Does what it is supposed to - at a high level. The order entry component is smooth, integrates with the real world and requires minimal training. The inventory management component simplifies inventory management and provides us with all the information we need to manage inventory (no small task). Cons There is nothing I do not like about the TradeGecko platform or its team.
