The help desk is easy to contact and I feel confident that when I call them, I will speaking to someone in America whose accent I have no problems understanding. Pros QuickBooks Online syncs my bank accounts for real-time financial information and makes it easy to match transactions across accounts. Cons QuickBooks online frequently makes updates to the appearance and organization of the platform - just when you get used to the new update, it seems to change again. This results in disrupted work flow and loss of productivity while learning the new platform. Users should be given the option to use the updated layouts or keep the one they were previously using with NO changes. Additionally, changing which bank account is used for payroll funds/paycheck payments (for the company, not for the employee) is challenging. There are multiple settings that need to be updated, including one setting which is unknown to users (settings>payroll settings>accounting>sync to current QBO account). How would anyone know that needs to be updated to finalize the account change without calling the help desk? We have been using this product for many years now. We use QuickBooks Online on a daily bases. We can add deposits and everything! Pros QuickBooks Online is great for our small business. We can invoice our customers, keep contact info about our customers. Its pretty simple to use as well! Cons The only thing that we have come to find that we dislike about QuickBooks would be their updates. Pros I’ve had a great overall experience using QuickBooks Online as an accountant. The interface is seamless and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and collaborate with clients. I especially appreciate that the platform is free for accountants and that the accountant dashboard allows me to easily view and manage all my clients in one place. Sharing access with clients and guiding them through their books is very straightforward, which makes collaboration much easier. Most of my clients enjoy using it as well, and the Essentials version is usually the best fit for their needs. Cons The only downside I’ve experienced is with payment processing. Early on, I had issues accepting payments that support wasn’t able to fully resolve, and I still occasionally run into the same problem. There are never ending features to tap into. Pros I like that it can be accessed by several people. I love the price. I love that the software continues to get better with requests from customers. Cons I don't like that it works to ensure that people without an accounting background can record data accurately however its not as useful when you know what the accounting that you want to do but not sure how the buttons interact with the GL. I like the easy invoicing, automatic bank feeds, and real-time access from anywhere. The reporting tools are a big help for planning. On the downside, the subscription cost can be high, some features take time to learn, and bank syncing isn’t always perfect. Still, it’s a reliable, convenient tool that saves me time and keeps my business on track. Pros QuickBooks Online makes managing finances so much easier. I really like how user-friendly the platform is it doesn’t feel overwhelming, even if you’re not an accountant. Everything is well-organized, from tracking income and expenses to reconciling accounts. Cons While QuickBooks Online is a powerful tool, there are a few areas that can be frustrating. I've been a QB user since 1996 and I wouldn't switch despite the ever-increasing cost. Cons Intuit does like to change the dashboard around without any warning, making it hard to find links you've gotten used to. The rapid inclusion of Artificial "Intelligence" is also quite annoying. Pros Quickbooks online is an easy to use program that is great for our business needs. The cost is economical for the amount we use it for as well which includes posting expenses, and importing invoices from our main CRM. The customer support is usually pretty good as well. The financial reporting is robust and provides all the information we need! Cons There are sometimes bugs in the system which are usually resolved by the QBO team in a timely matter, though it takes some time to recognize what is an actual bug or not. The software is user-friendly, effective at tracking customer financial records, and anticipates users' needs by offering an array of reporting features. Pros What I like most about the software is the invoicing capabilities. As someone who primarily uses the software in a development capacity, I send invoices to donors and sponsors. Not only is creating invoices easy to navigate for the user, but clear, easy-to-read records are kept, making it easy to track customer history (paid invoices, overdue invoices, etc.) and pull financial reports. All the essential features for invoicing are included, including adding necessary attachments and customizable classes and categories. As someone who works with multiple team members on invoicing, it is also helpful to be able to review an invoice's transaction history. Cons The most recent update that changed the homepage navigation is a little tricky to get accustomed to, but overall, I have had very few issues with the software. Review Source JI Jess I. It is a very easy platform to navigate through and learn as you go. It's also so widely used that most accountants know how to work it. Pros Value for Money, User Friendly, Invoicing, I thought it was easy to navigate around. Could easily set up users and liked that we could give them specific roles. Cons Dimension Tracking, More In depth tracking for cost codes, equipment usage. Customer Service was difficult. We did have payroll with QB, but anytime we needed help with something their customer service across the whole platform was horrible. It has helped automate and store so much information for me that would otherwise be a major headache! Pros Quickbooks online as a payment processor works fantastic, especially with bank transfers at 1% for the more consistent transactions! The process from estimates to completed invoices and payments is very streamlined. Options for text or email make it great for on the go payment processing while on the job. Cons The app does change interface often with its many updates. So the only qualm would be that the app looks different and buttons may be in different locations but it’s really a personal complaint as the updates always end up streamlining even more! It is easy to create new users and give them access to what they need. We like Payroll that goes along with Quickbooks Online as well. Pros It's easy to use. I love how the transactions flow into their automatically and are easy to categorize for bookkeeping. Reports are easy to pull. Customer service is good. They really do seem to care and try and help, but there have been times it takes awhile as they have to continually put me on hold to check with others on solving the issue. Cons The occasional issue or glitch with credit card batch transactions not matching up, and there not being a great way to fix it. For the most part, it functions well and most beginners can be able to do quite a bit of work using the software. The reporting on the financial aspects is intuitive. Cons Too many pop ups. I don't need financing. Please stop with the constant garbage on the screen. It's easy to use, and has a variety of products. I liked how responsive they were when I needed support troubleshooting. As much as I appreciate the positioning with NYC SBS years ago, while developing my consultancy, QuickBooks left me feeling like "wow, I thought we were friends." With the increases year after year, to an extreme amount, we definitely are not friends. Pros What I most liked about Quickbooks online, as a small business \[sensitive content hidden\] was the product represented in important educational seminars and learning experiences through NYC Small Business Services. That eased anxiety with using the fintech solution. Cons The increases became so extreme I had to stop using QuickBooks. I don't consider this scalable or a good use of budget any longer, and I don't feel valued as a small business \[sensitive content hidden\] . We're just not the same as mid-level or large organizations, which is especially true for independent consultants. It’s been good overall, as I have no experience with bookkeeping and have been able to implement with mostly ease. We did have a major issue with support when my transactions weren’t coming in. I got a lot of different answers and it took months to actually resolve the issue. Pros QuickBooks has a lot of great features. We love that it integrates with bank accounts to automatically bring in transactions. We also love once you have categorized it recognizes similar transactions and auto categorizes them moving forward. It is pretty user friendly for even inexperienced bookkeepers. It also has a lot of great reports to utilize for understanding finances. Cons The automatch system doesn’t always work.
