It took about 2 or 3 cycles to feel proficient. Pros I prefer the timeline method of editing so that my cuts and effects are frame accurate. AVS let's me do that. I trained on Adobe so I was able to get going quickly once I found the right places to find the tools I wanted. Cons Some items take a bit to master, but that's true of every software package, especially video. This doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Premiere, but it is a great basic, get it done, package. I would be lost without it. Pros I have been using AVS4you for over 10 years. This is solid software and each module can be used in a group or stand alone. Software complexity is the same as similar software. I use most of the packages every week and find they are an asset for my productivity. I would recommend this software for most users. There is so much you can do with it. Pros This software is easy to use. I am not tech savvy. I experimented with a lot of video editing programs before finding AVS and they were designed for more advanced users. This software is suitable for all levels of users. I signed up for a free trial when I was asked to create a particular file. I had absolutely no experience in videa editing but managed to achieve the objective. Pros It was easy to learn from the start. I had some issue getting into the editing aspect, but the online videos on YouTube were very helpful. Cons The file save functions are buggy. The "Save As' feature does not work as expected and seems to change the original file whether it is write protected or not. I believe this problem is just a visual bug in the video manager area, but support was unable to resolve this issue after months of back and forth conversations. I have heard nothing more on the problem after they said they could replicate it, but did not know why it was there. The issue was present on several computers at my location and across several versions of the software. Cons I NEED the newest codecs and having to wait for H265 capability has been a source of annoyance Reason for choosing AVS Video Editor Originally I found it an easy to implement solution for converting and creating projects, But it has been falling back as the "go to" tool because of late implementation of the H265 codec.
