I get that with Buildbook, and it makes it easy to simultaneously setup task management and scheduling. Pros The interface is extremely fluid and natural to use. The potential for what Buildbook has to offer is very high. Cons I would like it if they offered a desktop native app vs strictly a browser based option. BuildBook has helped utilize their features to make sure everyone is aware and on the same page! Pros I love the tasks functions and the start and end dates you can implement. This helps show the entire team what needs to be done and how much time we have to do the scope. Cons I would like to see more financial functions. Pros It is extremely easy to use. There is no better software for the money. It is not busy and cluttered like its more expensive competitors, it has everything you need, nothing that you don't. The company is growing rapidly and I am excited to see the future software developments from BuildBook. I would recommend BuildBook to any residential builder looking to systemize their company. Cons It is a relatively new product that is rapidly growing, there will be features you with it had, though they are few. BuildBook will continue to improve, and I look forward to future developments. Very friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable staff. We have really enjoyed switching to BuildBook. Pros Easy to learn and use. Free onboarding sessions with handy reviewable transcripts. Estimate templates, easily use past jobs as a template for new ones, partial access for subs, cost book, and contact lists. Cons It has some areas that are not customizable e.g. the categories to list potential projects under. We can work within it well enough but it would be nice to change the titles to fit our company's jargon. The user experience is clean, simple and easy to navigate. Cons There are a lot of features lacking and some feel like very obvious oversights such as not being able to see profit margin % from a project's financials. It did not make sense to keep paying so much money for something that was never going to improve. I see this becoming one of the industry leaders and they are growing in that direction everyday. Pros Clean software that is user friendly. has the right features that i need with out the fluff of similar construction project management software. you can't beat the amazing customer support and they are always looking for feedback on how to improve the software. Its hard to get older people to try new things and learn new things. Cons No summary page for the total expenses. this makes the build process easy to watch and see where they are over allowance and under as the project moves forward. that way they are not "blind sided" at the end of the build with a huge overage on allowances. December 31, 2020 5.0 Great product for communication between owner, manager, employees, clients, and subcontractors! Pros We use this tool primarily to track job progress internally as well as with clientele. We use this software daily, whether it is creating task lists to be completed or post pictures and captions, and we love that we are able to post these progress updates to enhance internal scheduling as well as keep the client updated throughout the process. That being said, the communication capability with all parties is what we love most! Cons The to-do lists and tasks seem difficult to create, and I wasn’t aware of several other features prior to taking this questionnaire. Perhaps a tutorial or help guide would be useful in lieu of the chat option. Also, previously I had issues uploading multiple pictures and getting posts to create/post, but that seems to have been improved in the most recent update. Review Source JV Jody V. Pros What I like most about Build Book is that the majority of our Client job info can be tracked, entered and stored in one location and the best part is that our whole team can access all the job info seamlessly. I love the SELECTIONS Category, having a visual component in the room view is so nice! Build Book is super easy to navigate, you can add or remove as much or as little information to each job. Cons It would be nice if we could customize what what categories we would like to print from the Selections category. This would be handy to be able to hand over to individual suppliers for ordering. It would also be nice if there was a communal group chat that could take place instead of only being able to chat within a particular job. Reason for choosing BuildBook I initially looked into Build Book because I wanted a nice and professional app that would display and track Customer selections, boy did I make the right decision! This is only one great feature we utilize. We are working on integrating our leads, design reviews and building stages and can't wait to start sharing our progress with our Clients. In collaboration with our processes that were in already in place, the implementation of BuildBook has increased our productivity, which means increased our bottom line. All while satisfying the customer with no added expenses directed toward them. Pros Given multiple features to disperse to our internal team and our clients, BuildBook has proven to be well worth the investment. We have had nothing but positive feedback from our clients and the designers that we work with. They love the daily update posts that we require, which describes the work that was done that day and what is on tap for the next. The option to embed photos into your posts have made change orders easier to document and gain acceptance. The documents tab has all of the necessary information that the crews in the field need to efficiently complete the project. Cons There are no dire needs throughout the platform. The only suggestion would be have a spreadsheet option in the documents tab that would allow all parties, or selected few, to edit right there in BuildBook.
