BuildBook has helped utilize their features to make sure everyone is aware and on the same page! Pros I love the tasks functions and the start and end dates you can implement. This helps show the entire team what needs to be done and how much time we have to do the scope. Cons I would like to see more financial functions. Pros It is extremely easy to use. There is no better software for the money. It is not busy and cluttered like its more expensive competitors, it has everything you need, nothing that you don't. The company is growing rapidly and I am excited to see the future software developments from BuildBook. I would recommend BuildBook to any residential builder looking to systemize their company. Cons It is a relatively new product that is rapidly growing, there will be features you with it had, though they are few. BuildBook will continue to improve, and I look forward to future developments. Very friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable staff. We have really enjoyed switching to BuildBook. Pros Easy to learn and use. Free onboarding sessions with handy reviewable transcripts. Estimate templates, easily use past jobs as a template for new ones, partial access for subs, cost book, and contact lists. Cons It has some areas that are not customizable e.g. the categories to list potential projects under. We can work within it well enough but it would be nice to change the titles to fit our company's jargon. The user experience is clean, simple and easy to navigate. Cons There are a lot of features lacking and some feel like very obvious oversights such as not being able to see profit margin % from a project's financials. It did not make sense to keep paying so much money for something that was never going to improve. March 29, 2022 4.0 Overall, this has been an amazing new integration for our business and has helped us level up our offering. We feel that clients have really valued having a platform that helps them feel closely connected to their renovation/build project at every step of the way whether they are living in their home or not. Clients have appreciated our regular communication using the tool as it keeps info all in one place. Our team feels more connected on projects and we are finding a new groove and it feels great! Pros The platform is very user friendly and our clients found it easy to navigate. We like the Chat features, File and Document sharing capabilities, Scheduling tool and the Budget and Selections sections to help us keep our process in check and moving towards project milestones. It's been a game changer for us as a whole! Cons We would love to see more reporting features, exporting estimates and selections into a nice PDF for clients to review. Some of our clients are hands on and still like paper copies or the ability to receive paper copies that are tangible. Would also love to see a more robust way to obtain client approvals on selections. Larger images for attachments and a few quirks with the mobile app can be flushed out too. The sales process was low pressure and informative. Onboarding was a breeze and the staff was so helpful and patient helping us apply and configure the software to best suit our individual business needs. Customer service has been amazing. Super fast responsive times and helpful feedback. All in all while there's always feature enhancements that we'd love to see, BuildBook has been a great addition to our team! Pros The ability to quickly establish a project schedule, assign task owners, store project documentation and efficiently communicate as a team has presented a tremendous improvement to our operation. Cons The scheduling feature could definitely be improved by the ability to set durations along with the ability to link tasks across phases. The budget feature isn't quite as robust as we'd like to use it for so an integration with google sheets would be great. Within the selections feature, the ability to rename an existing room would save a lot of time in transposing a project from a template to a new build. Cons It's sometimes difficult getting the "old school" subs to want to download an app, and then taking the time to train them can be an issue. I also have several other separate business and personal business document tools I'm learning at the same time. Spread thin. Pros I wish I had BuildBook years ago, it is ideal. Currently I do struggle with using it as I work mostly day to day for others, me myself and I. As such, I do not get too involved wit schedule and budget or estimate. Yes I would like to very much, and need to, but again at this time I'm not. As such I have limited practice or daily use. But I support BuildBook for what they are accomplishing. This software has met all of those needs easily. Every time we use it with a client, we're impressed with it's functionality and ease of use. The budget information has become our favorite tool, as it keeps everyone aware of dollars throughout the entire process. Cons It's still being adjusted and fine tuned, so some of the functionality is still being worked out. Reason for choosing BuildBook We are a small company - building 2-5 homes a year. Pros BuildBook has a very easy interface that is easily used by my team. They have everything you need in 1 organized location with many options to improve efficiency on the management side of the business. Cons The schedule display could be improved when using it on a cell phone. Would like to see a calendar view of how the current and scheduled jobs fit together, but I believe that is being discussed. Being able to see the multiple projects, see its status, communicate solutions, and answer customer’s questions. The idea extends to the team that created the app, the team at Buildbook. If there’s one thing I can say about them, its that they have excellent communication and customer service! Pros Being able to see progress on every project, and directly communicate and comment on individual project posts along with the home owner/customer Cons Still a few bugs here and there. One of the more consistent bugs is our team will run into problems uploading photos. But the Buildbook team is so responsive and prompt to address our feedback and squash those bugs.
