Cons The only issue was that one older person on my team would always forget to record, complaining about it being too hard to use. Turned out they never read any of the how-to's or the use documentation. It really allowed me to record and edit the training content we needed for the team. I used to have to re-record content several times to get a good take, but Loom makes it so much easier to edit and get what you need out of a recording. Pros I loved that Loom provided a lot of versatility in how you wanted to record content. You could choose which tab or screen, audio or just video, or even add a video of you talking through the presentation at the bottom corner. Cons There was definitely a bit of a learning curve trying to learn to use this tool and maximize it's features. For example, I didn't know I could cut snippets of the video out until much later and even then it took some time to figure out, but that's also one of my favorite features once I did figure it out. Loom is riding the way of video content crucial for internal and external alignment as you scale. Pros Loom is such an incredibly easy tool to use across the company. We've used a few solutions in the past including slack recordings and clickup but truthfully, Loom has far more powerful capabilities via their rich feature set. Instant embed is a huge feature for us enabling you to simply copy and paste a link. The ability to measure insights and analytics on videos is important given we use Loom for external business development. In addition, the ability to tag others in a video, comment and engage supercharges your ability to work seamlessly across timezones. We have employees all over the world so it's crucial. Cons The biggest challenge was whether we actually choose a dedicated video platform (additional charges + additional learning internally and yet another tool). ClickUp is getting far more sophisticated with recordings and of course, you want to consolidate as much as you possibly can. " December 26, 2023 5.0 Overall it's been amazing, I started on the free account then when I realized how much time it was saving me (with making tutorials for a remote team) it was an easy decision to start paying for it. They also roll out new features so I feel they really listen to feedback. Pros I love how easy it is to use, even if you are not tech-savvy it's easy to use. It's easy to organize my recordings with folders and share them with team members and clients. It saves me so much time by creating short screen recordings versus having to have a meeting. It's also low-cost compared to other software solutions. Cons I have no cons for it, I think it's great. Even the free account offers a lot. Remote meeting especially with my associates don't overlap well so Loom enabled us to stop staying up late or waking up early for meetings2. I often need to create content for Linked i.e. Video screen recording. Before Loom I used the Wink or Windows Gaming Video capture all of which were not a seamless experience. I often had to use an additional application to slice and dice the videos and had no way of adding transcripts intuitively. Pros I like the ease of use of Loom, the screen recording and video editing features are especially useful. The ease of sharing and integration with other tools such as Gmail and Slack are awesome. Cons I was a bit disappointed with the Android app experience, the app does not work as seamlessly as the Chrome and Desktop app. I also think the Starter package should have the CTA feature on the limited features allowed. I think this will provide more value for content creators and enable more organic customers from recommendations by existing users Reason for choosing Loom Loom is inexpensive and has a rich feature set. I have used the business package at $8/Month which is a great bargain. What I love the most is how fast and easy it is to quickly make a recording of your screen or a combination of screen and camera. Pros What I like most about this software is it's easy to use and I have the option to show my face in the screen while recording. Most of my students are used to tutorials with just voice overs but this time with me using Loom, I can share my camera in a way that is not distracting anyone from what is happening in my screen. Cons I hope for the free plan there are ways to extend the recording length without upgrading to business. I love Loom for how easy it was for me to record and share those recordings for students so that their language learning would and did continue. My students were better because of this application. You can use it to avoid the typical "quick meeting to show you something", use it for repetitive tasks that your team always asks how to do (record and keep it on your documentation/onboarding), use it for learning & development and teaching your team about something, showing a bug to your tech team... so many ways. I also really like being able to see how many people have watched it, and it allows you to interact with the video on key parts that you want to highlight. Cons I love it, no cons in Loom!
