When I needed to work with someone to set up a program I began making my own Loom videos. Pros Loom is pretty easy to figure out how to use. Cons I struggles with Loom recognizing some of my audio and video equipment that works on other programs. The videos always work. I have used them for all kinds of things, from working with students to showing parents where to find important forms to fill out to training, etc. I cannot imagine going back to my job without Loom! Any chance I get, I spread the word as well! Pros I love that I can show a student, teacher, or state department liaison what I am working on and exactly what my question is. This saves an insane amount of time during my work week. I love that it is so easy to grab my recording with a link. I am not sure if all, but most of the teachers at my school are using this tool now, after I did a demonstration at our back to school meeting in August. We are a virtual school and this is such a valuable tool for all subject areas. Cons I wish we had more than 100 free videos, but I understand the reasoning behind this. I wish there was a special package for educators. This is such a great tool to help us teach students and teachers get so little discounts as it is. Review Source Danish M. Loom is a great tool of you are looking for screen recording and for video recording too. The new tools added by the loom team are also great which help us improve the overall productivity. Pros Screen recording capabilities are awesome. I loved the integrations with 3rd party apps. User Interface is also very easy to use. We can record and get feedback from our clients very easily and quickly. It makes me more productive. Cons The screen recording limit is what bothers me a lot when I was on a free plan. Sometimes its an excellent alternative to the meeting. Clients enjoy the demo I give them because they can keep going back to it. I can re-record a video if the first take wasn't good enough. Taking on new employees and welcoming them to the new system during Covid times is great and very easy. I enjoy the solution a lot and really appreciated their efforts for keeping it free during 2020 Pros Somehow this was the first screen recording software I found and I fell in love with how easy it, the click animation display and the self video in corner to give it a personal touch Cons I enjoyed the software a lot when it was free :) and while the pro version was very good, we came back to free because there were fewer instances where we needed to go beyond the free time limit Review Source Ferhat Suat E. It is also super easy to create how-to videos for customers. Pros We use Loom for two reasons: to give comments to colleagues instead of scheduling meetings. And second, to record videos that we then process using other tools and publish online. Loom is super easy to use and perfect for these two use cases. Easy for anyone to make a quick video about feedback or to show a problem they are having. Cons The post-production capabilities are more limited. Would be great to have transcription in German available, as well as the possibility to create different types of headers and subtitles. Pros A simple yet effective tool, I use Loom frequently as a way to provide educational videos to my colleagues in a way which is engaging and semi-interactive by being able to annotate and highlight documents in real time whilst they watch. Cons It would be better if it had a scheduling function for online meetings where participants could be invite to join via an invitation. However I am still relatively new to this tool so it might have this feature and I have just not found it yet. Reason for choosing Loom I feel that Loom is better suited for updating documents and collaborating in real time, help with problem solving and explaining problems to remote colleagues with its superior screen sharing and editing features. Switched from [Zoom Workplace](https://www.capterra.com/p/144037/Zoom-Video-Conferencing/) Loom is more interactive and suited to my video styles which focus more on document review and education than direct conversational meetings. We even recorded each meeting at some point. The last time-limit implemented made us think that it might not be the most relevant software for our company in the light of how we use it, we moved on without harsh feeling. It is, indeed, a very well designed software and the team deserves kudos. Pros Loom is so simple to use that you could handle the use of it in 1 mn ! Organizing videos in files is very easy too. Cons I found it not very intuitive to collaborate on a Loom video : you can comment, but not show where in the screen you refer to. I like mostly that Loom creates links and the record can see everybody that has the link. It is very easy to use to report bugs. My favorite screen recorder tool for testing. The advantage of the former is the inclusion of screenshots in the same app, something I miss in Loom. However, Loom does very well for screen recording. Pros Loom is perhaps the best-known software in this space, and they have used their position to innovate. I love how straightforward it is to set up a screen recording and how quickly the recording is ready after recording. Cons The Windows app still isn't quite set up correctly for two monitor--or at least not on my setup. I wish I could push the recording controls out of the video space entirely and onto the second monitor, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Lots of issues. I use a fast PC, and each time you ask them, they ask for logs and details and all sorts. Its a standard PC, windows 11 pro - fast connections. Their product is getting worse and worse and wasting a lot of time for me re-recording. Now just given up and switched. This tool is easy to open and it gives you easy access to your recorded videos. I have really enjoyed being notified when someone views it because I use this tool as feedback for my online class and it helps to see how often and whom is viewing each of my recordings. I even have back and forth discussions just below the video page. Cons I had a few instances when a video failed to upload because it was taking forever. I couldn't be certain if this was due to the internet in our location or Loom, but it happened more than once but no more than 4 times in the last two years I have used it. There were also a couple of times when my microphone didn't connect for whatever reason and I recorded an entire video without sound. Loom also recently announced that their service will be free for educators moving forward with his great! Pros Loom is simple and easy to use for your screen and video recording needs. It does exactly what it is supposed to do, is easy to save, has great features, and is intuitive. There's no need to be a "techy" in order to create high-quality videos and lesson recordings as a teacher in a flipped classroom. Cons I wish there were a few more editing options within the user console and an easier way to set up local storage the videos (as opposed to downloading them and backing them up). Pros Loom is really useful for making training videos for various tasks, it's helpful to have the audio and screen recording to walk colleagues through how to do certain things. It's also helpful to pass along large amounts of detailed information quickly, like a meeting that not everyone needs to be at, and you can rewatch as needed. Cons Not all coworkers find it to be the easiest way for them to absorb information, preferring in person chats, but it is definitely a close second and very helpful when in-person or live meetings are not an option. The bubble showing my webcam feed really personalised the experience for my customers. Cons I would sometimes have audio issues from my microphone. Once I got recordings going it went well, but the pre-recording issues really got to me. Pros I love the background blur on videos as Im not always recording from the most professional settings. Cons I constantly had problems connecting, my mic and couldn't find the button to change it, it became very frustrating after a few times.
