The large, clear 22‑inch IPS screen makes calendars easy to manage and not forget about your appointments. Cons I find it unfair that users are pushed into a paid subscription just to get a normal refresh rate. This limitation isn’t tied to extra hardware, optional software, even a separately developed add-on or any real added cost for the company. It feels like an artificial restriction designed purely to upsell. On top of that, the meaning of “All integrations included” in the paid Essentials plan is unclear. There’s no transparent explanation of which integrations are excluded from the free basic plan, even after paying around $600 for the device itself (which is way more than 50 dollars). For a premium-priced product, the lack of clarity and the paywalling of basic functionality is disappointing. I would not recommend this solution for lots of video or multimedia content. Pros The features like local weather, integration with many different calendars, integration with multiple photo sources, and configuring these types of dynamic content into designs you configure are Dakboard screens greatest benefits. The system is reliable and easy to manage remotely. Cons The per slide pricing of Dakboard is undesirable to me and if you have a lot of content, this can quickly become more costly than some of the competitors. Video playback was not smooth in my experience due to the system streaming all multimedia content from the internet connection. I'm using DAKboard with an iPad as a dedicated display, and it's immensely helpful to be able to look at several days of upcoming events in list format. Cons I think the user interface for setting up the boards could be a little easier to use. Additional features for the lower pricing tiers would be helpful and I think fair for the price point. I also wasn't that excited about the suggested templates, so more visually appealing options and/or an AI assistant would be a great feature. I integrated ToDoIst and can see the tasks I have to do and I use the touchscreen to check them off. Google photos rotate in the background and then my exteriors cameras can be accessed by a link I added to my screen. I love DakBoars. It’s so easy to use and very beautiful designs with a lot of functionality. Pros First. DakBoard is beautiful and has great templates to choose from. You can have background photos and then add different style of calendars from big monthly, weekly, daily, and more. I like that you can integrate your google calendars, Apple calendar, and more to the calendar. There are many other functions that will integrate and you can add like ToDoIst, google photos, weather, and a lot more. Cons I don’t like the small selection of templates to choose from. They need more of the beautiful templates. Pros Really nothing. I had so much trouble that it is hard to say something good. Cons The fact that it would not work properly and when you tried to reach out for support there was not. I thought, I can just pull up this information on my phone, surely there's a way it can just be displayed on a screen somewhere for them to see. Yep, there is, and there are several options out there to do it. I picked DAKboard because it looked easy and had a free version. I tried it out on my computer and it worked great, so I went ahead and bought the "DAKboard CPU" which is a raspberry pi mini computer preloaded to run DAKboard on a screen. That came with 6 months of their premium service. The premium service has a bunch more customization options that were fun to play with. The only one we really ended up using was having our own Google Photos album as background images. After the 6 months ran out we went back to a free background of some nice landscapes. So for several months now, we have been using DAKboard to display the date, time, weather, sunrise/sunset, our family calendar, and the most recent memory verses using an RSS feed from our church's website. Cons I think the only hiccups have been issues with our own internet service. I've been really hoping to see integration with Life360 so the kids can stop asking, "Where's mom?", "When will mom be home?" Several of us have requested that feature and we've heard they have been trying to connect with Life360 about it. But, DAKboard is actively adding new features on a regular basis.
