Many of its competitors have either lacked the variability and customer support (example R) or are still in its initial stage of capturing the worldwide market (example Dataiku - potential competitor). Anaconda supports python programming language but also integrates RStudio seamlessly. It also integrates MS SQL Server and Oracle databases, thus making it easier to execute SQL queries. Anaconda supports multiple data science/machine learning libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc. to perform various tasks such as statistical analysis, data mining, data exploration, feature engineering, and modelling. Pros Anaconda is a free and open source software which is extremely easy to install and carry out developer and analytics tasks. The Anaconda GUI is very user-friendly, whether it is the Spyder IDE, RStudio or the Jupyter Notebooks. Also, Anaconda integrates easily with other tools such as RStudio, Blue Prism RPA tool, etc. It has a vast network of supporting websites such as geeksforgeeks.com and stackoverflow.com that provides solutions to various complex issues in python/data science. Cons The major concern related to Anaconda is that it cannot handle large volumes of data. It takes a long time to upload large-sized datasets and computations consume too much RAM. " September 19, 2021 5.0 I have used anaconda throughout my degree and I still use it in my work today. It has been a pleasant experience I was able to hit the ground running relatively quickly and use it for my professional needs. Pros As a Machine learning engineer I use all the time in my work for performing various tasks. I love the fact that I get to use all software in a single centralized unit. In it I can find my all the different IDEs and tools such as Spyder, Jupyter Notebook, Jupyter lab, R Studio.....etc. I find this extremely convenient. Aside from that it allows me to create multiple virtual environments with very minimal effort through its fantastic UI (user interface) which keeps the whole process relatively simple. I would absolutely recommend this product to any Machine learning engineer or Data scientist. Cons I dislike the idea that it has slow start-up time. Pros I like that Anaconda provides the Anaconda prompt tool which enables me to install the packages and libraries I want using the terminal. I like that I can create an endless number of virtual environments on Anaconda where each one of them is related to a certain project. Also, I like that Anaconda is offering some learning tutorial for beginners on how to use it efficiently. Cons It takes very long time when switching between 2 environments inside Anaconda. There is no cloud or sync option to help me if I am using Anaconda on multiple devices. Also, I do not like the interface of Anaconda navigator and that I cannot switch to dark mode. This is simply the starter kid. It eases the burden of newbies, removing the effort to install all these manually. Not to mention it comes with the most important data science tool Jupyter Notebook. I usually use Jupyter and Spyder notebooks, and they've been easy enough for me to learn even as a beginner, and to extend my code using library support. The premium version has many alluring features, but it can be a tad bit expensive for students and hobby-coders like me. Pros It has a great user interface with support for running multiple environments for your development. The Jupyter and Spyder notebooks are my usual go-tos, and they work really well. Code auto-correction is a lifesaver. I also love the debugging tool, which makes it very easy to find out the bugs in your code. Preloaded libraries, support for multiple languages and environments, support for extended libraries, and simple integration of various tools, makes it a must have for coders. Cons It can be a bit bulky sometimes, slowing down and lagging while you're working on your code. Especially when you are on a low-end system.
