I plan to keep on using it for as long as possible and I welcome more features that may be integrated in the future. It has more options and setting up time between appointments is easy. Blocking off time is simple. Setting up automated emails is simple. So far it's pretty great overall. Pros I like that it's integrated right into my website and I don't have to go to another platform for my schedule. Cons The integration option for adding what's scheduled on Acuity to my iCal is not as seamless as I'd like. It has to be done manually every time someone books with me. If I forget to do that step I end up double booking my professional and personal life. It would be great if there was a seamless integration for when folks schedule and cancel so that it's not an extra step on my end. We are switching to an alternative appointment scheduling provider. Pros The ability to set different hours for certain appointment types via calendar service groups. This enables a high degree of customization of the calendar settings for each staff member and appointment type, which I have not seen in other SAAS appointment scheduling offerings. Merging duplicated clients is a breeze and simply requires the misspelled record to be corrected. Cons Calendar views are poorly formatted, difficult to navigate and inconsistent across platforms. Our default view is weekly, which frequently displays only 6 days and skips a week when navigating to the following week. Calendars do not consistently align in columns in the daily view, resulting in confusion when determining a therapist's availability. Booking errors are common, which projects unprofessionalism and results in a tedious in-store experience for the customer. The apps are bug-ridden with very poorly designed views that are unusable. The ipad app frequently displays no customers and requires the user to log out and back in to function. In fact, I use it in my other business as well. Therefore, I highly recommend the software. Pros We have been using Acuity for quite some time now. We love how it integrates with multiple platforms and multiple calendars. We love being able to customize add-ons and love how easy it is to add payments such as Stripe. The best part is the intake forms, the reminders that our clients receive about their appointments. We honestly couldn't live without Acuity in our lives. Cons Learning to use the software is a serious learning curve. I still find myself wondering and figuring out each step even after having used the step. Maybe, I'm making it more difficult than it is! I've had quite a few hiccups and will say the ease of use isn't that easy, but it's worth the time to understand it. Pros The flexibility of this online software and the fact it syncs (through customisation) with my workflow makes my life so much easier. The fact that it can see when I'm busy and schedule appointments around my existing jobs without me getting involved is like having a virtual assistant except you know everything is perfect, every time. As I've got to use it more and more I've created new services which I can sell through the automated scheduling system whereas I wouldn't have been able to do that before because I am either busy on a job and not answering the phone or I wasn't near a computer and couldn't quickly take the details and payment. It also helps that most people actually don't like talking to people on the phone and if they can book everything themselves online in this modern world, then that wins me more business. I have used it so much and it makes all my dealings with clients so much easier. It means I do not have to play the receptionist and I can focus on my work and what I am interested in. Before using Acuity I was wasting so much time sending texts and emails trying to arrange appointments which would take a long time, particularly if I was working with different timezones. I am so happy my clients can pay up front and it automatically goes into my Paypal account. I can also refund very easily with the app. Very well thought though ! Pros I really like the way my customers can book with me, schedule their appointments to their timezone and pay without me being involved. It is very convenient for my clients to be able to reschedule their appointments if something comes up or changes in their schedule. I can also text and email them from my calendar if I need to contact them in a hurry. Cons Setting up the times available feels a little clunky. It is ok if I had the same times each week but if I want to make alterations I find it a little hard to be unpredictable and for the app to keep up with my fast changing diary. Tax season is hectic for any tax professional and being able to schedule your day in all aspects and giving your clients the ability to schedule when it works for them.... that's one more way to lower your stress. Pros I've tried a few different scheduling softwares out there for client appointments. This software is by far the easiest for me to use. I can see the whole calendar, block out times, set up different types and lengths of appointments, and sync it to my google calendar on my phone. During tax season, I wouldn't be able to keep all the appointments straight without it. Cons When I traveled to in person meetings, it would have been nice to have an option to add an address that would then sync to google calendar so it could map it from there. The app is very handy, it is efficient, it is customizable and made by me for me, and it is very confident for my clients. Pros Acuity Scheduling is a great app! It is very convenient and has everything I need to make booking less complicated for my clients and easy for me to keep up with clients, dates, and prices. My favorite part of the app is that it gives me the space to customize my booking information. I can pick my choice of font, background colors, font colors, I can bullet point, and have all types of fun to make my booking app feel like my own and stand out from others. I love that the app sends confirmation emails with EVERYTHING my clients need to know which saves me time from having to send out messages and emails and constantly changing things. Cons What I don’t like about the app is that clients are only allowed to book (via Instagram or the link) using a paid plan. I feel that clients should be able to book through all social media platforms using the Acuity link whether the business owner has a paid plan or not, and that some app functions should be limited and only accessed by those who pay for it. I also didn’t like that I couldn’t customize my booking information and I had a limited amount of space to type. November 16, 2020 5.0 I was looking for something very similar to what I'm already using, but with a few specific extra features that it seems crazy to me aren't available. I wanted a reasonable monthly price, the ability to share a direct link to my booking page on social media via a link, integration with google calendar so I don't get a load of double-bookings and the ability to set a maximum number of appointments per day. Acuity has all of that and more. Pros Once you've spent a little bit of time getting to grips with the interface, it's super easy to set up. I'm an online ESL teacher working for several third party sites, and the acuity scheduler is very similar to what I've seen before. This is a plus, as it means I'm already familiar with the basic concepts and it didn't take me too long to figure out where everything was and how it works. Not only that, Acuity fixes a lot of the main gripes I had with the platforms I'm already using i.e. lack of integration with other apps, inability to set a maximum for the number of appt. per day etc. I'd tried out a few other apps of this kind in the past (the usual suspects, I won't name them here), but found they were either too expensive or lacking specific features that it seemed obvious to me needed including. Hooray for Acuity! Cons There is a bit of a learning curve at the start, I imagine more so if this is your first time using this kind of software, but considering how much easier it's going to make things moving forward I think it's more than worth the initial effort. Definitely a good option for smaller digital businesses and other service based businesses. Plus they have an open api that connects with Zapier so easy to integrate with most anything else you may need. Pros The 2 things I like most about this software is that it has a lot of native integrations already prebuilt into the system. For example, we use Zoom a lot for our appointments and it took just a few minutes to set up. Secondly, I like how you can set up different categories of schedules with only one email and calendar per person. I've used this not only for my digital marketing agency but have helped friends set this up for many other types of industries including a gym, hair salon, professional coaching and more. Cons Only thing I wish they would include is different time zone scheduling option with the smallest team plan/ Found that out the hard way, we are adding more people to our team so that won't be too big of a deal breaker but it would be nice. My customers love the calendar invites and text reminders. Drag-and-drop rescheduling is so easy. Cons 1) Acuity's reports are junk. At least i can export to Excel and get everything i need, but not within the app. They need to look at their competitors to see what they do; TimeTap's reports are beautiful, but that wasn't enough to get me to go with them. 2) Customer service is so minimal as to be nearly nonexistent. They say that's how they keep their prices low, but it's not very helpful. Even having a human rep available by email would be a perk. April 17, 2020 4.0 This really lays a great platform for any business needing an appointment scheduler. It is very customizable and offers you plenty of options to fit your business needs. I really am falling in love with this one in particular (and I have used several others before)! Pros I really enjoy all their appointment and scheduling options. Not only can you set appointment types into groups (I set mine as clients and prospective clients), but you can also set each calendar & type with their own hours. I found their variety of options available for your availability, calendar settings & limits, block timing and ability to attach forms to any or every appointment type. There are definitely plenty of options to choose from to make it unique to your company. Cons For me, I found this to be a little bit of a learning curve since they do offer so many options. It was a bit intimidating at first. But, I took my time and worked through each section being able to conquer them all in the end. I must say though, whenever I ran into a problem or had a question during this process, I reached out to Acuity Support. They are so helpful and helped me out with each and every question that I came across! I even had to kindly tell them that I didn't have enough time to use and they were nice enough to extend my trial for 2 additional weeks so that I could try it. After figuring out how to arrange our timetable to fit with our business operations, we were able to resolve numerous difficulties and issues related to scheduling customers. The most impressive feature is the ability to assign resources and determine their availability. This is a critical feature for any customer-based business because it enables you to make the most of your customer base. We assumed our schedule was already full, but we quickly realized that we could increase our timetable by more than 50% and increase our profits. Cons I found the user interface and navigation to be confusing and unintuitive at times. It doesn't have much of a learning curve to figure out how to work the back end, and I like the aesthetics of the calendar and appointment options on the front end. If you can handle the bill, Acuity is one of the best scheduling/appointment setting software I've used. Pros Acuity Scheduling has helped me in multiple jobs. When I worked for a Yearbook Photography company, we used it for students and schools to schedule Senior Portraits and other special photoshoots. It was great to be able to set up multiple schools with appointments in multiple locations. I have also used Acuity in a few other jobs where we need to schedule client meetings. The scheduling feature is easy for anyone to use, and helps take the appointment setting task off of our plates. It's easy to set up on the back-end and great to use from the front-end. Cons Acuity is a bit pricey, especially if you're using it for a small company. However, if you are scheduling a lot of appointments, the price is worth it because it'll save so much time. We looked at a few other options - we'd used Calendly previously, but the key with Acuity was the ability to book both individual sessions and classes - for someone in the health profession this is absolutely key. You can also limit the numbers within a class, take payment, and for the individual session, sync with the teacher's calendar - saving lots of backwards and forwards to arrange a time. Also syncs with Zoom and the like for online classes and you can add coupon codes for discounts. Pros The key for using Acuity for our clients is the ability to book for both class situations and individuals. For somebody like a Yoga or Pilates teacher who wants to offer both services, it is key that with Acuity this is very simple to set up. As a web developer, the user friendliness also allows us to set the software up and let the client use it moving forward without the need for excessive training. Cons The ability to customise on the website using CSS is only allowed for the highest priced plan - not sure why this is the case. (I should add that you can use brand the colours and copy on all plans).
