Since I have started using Acuity Scheduling managing my business has become a whole lot easier. It has helped me automate services and add integrations to better streamline my services! Salon owner Consumer Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Promising but not ready for prime time" November 4, 2016 3.0 We subscribed to the Power Player plan, hoping to resolve the issue we were having with Square Appointments. The issue specifically is preventing our clients to having to enter credit card every time to reserve an appointment (this is to prevent no-shows). Acuity offers this "nifty" feature, albeit with a flaw that enables customer to "disconnect" his credit card on his account while retaining his booking. I tested this feature with Square credit card processing. Customer receives automatic an email from Square that his credit card is now on file with Square, in that email there's a link to remove this credit card, therefore making this customer not accountable if he chooses not to show up for his appointment. This allows for no-show and no way to charge this customer a no-show fee, so Acuity's implementation of no-show protection is flawed and actually pointless. USER INTERFACE: Their user interface is un-intuitive and lacking basic common sense. For example; they call each staff in the account setting "Calendars". Seriously? The reminders section allows removal of "Cancel/Reschedule" buttons but with no way to restore them unless contacting customer service via email, which could take hours if not days over the weekends. Our Power Player account offered live online chat, though it never worked despite trying to contact them during their business hours, their email customer support were clueless as to why it didn't work. The "Register for Account" button is not visible. It is located at the screen when the first booking is complete by the customer. The backend interface looks like it was designed in the 90's, with major disregard for usability experience and user-friendliness. The service has lots of bells and whistles that are overshadowed by the shortcomings I described above. Pros Prompt email support, albeit during weekday business hours Cons UI, possibility to bypass booking with credit card setting, No staff description or images for the end user viewing during booking. Pros I like the freebie plan that is included with Acuity Scheduling. I like that is user-friendly and has a vast amount of features. Cons You have to integrate calendars. You also cannot personalize Acuity Scheduling. It also helps with scheduling multiple classes and different types of users. Pros You can easily add client information to the system. You can also create multiple calendars with availability that you can then send a link to clients to schedule themselves. You can also set this up through your billing system to have clients sign up and pay through the Acuity system. It has taken the hassle of personal scheduling away. Pros Scheduling was easy for my clients. I was able to update my services without any problems. Little to no monthly cost. A nice trial period, pricing for first-tier options on par with other services. I'll be back but need to grow my business to a point where another paid subscription makes sense for me. Pros The biggest factors that took me from Calendly to Acuity were 1) ability to plan recurring appointments, and 2) ease of use. For whatever reason the interface just made so much more sense to me, after getting lost in Calendly. I love too that it feels very friendly but clean and professional. Nice touches like the little pop-up phrases when you hover over buttons, clear layout and great options for customizing made it really pleasant to use. Cons The private/public link wasn't as clear to me as it could have been -- I sent the link out to a few folks and they replied that it was for private viewing only so couldn't book. A newbie mistake but I had to hunt a bit to find where to switch that. Maybe a toggle right next to the "Copy link" option would have been helpful. January 29, 2021 5.0 We've began using Acuity a couple of months ago for our bank branches so easy to setup and administer! Within a couple of hours we had a functional pilot test, with multiple calendars with varying schedules. We developed multiple appointment types and we were rolling. Modifications were simple. Acuity's Help team was available with very knowledgeable help on the intricacies. Other systems can do more, but the cost for Acuity is very attractive. Pros I was involved in the vendor review and selection, and 've been administering the site. I'd have to say the beauty of this system boils down to functionality, low cost, flexibility, self-administration and real-time update capability. The vendor support is excellent as well. Cons We'd like to see multi-language support, and some more advanced features like allowing a user to indicate they have arrived for the appointment (waiting outside). There is limited information should your company require thorough vendor due diligence. I can schedule it on my calendar immeditely with minimal effort to book clients Pros I love that i don't have to spend ti.e going back and forth with clients to find a date and time that works . I also love that my clients can schedule in their own timezone which saves me having to work out time differences for them. It also really helps me to write out my range of services and get clear with my customers in one place using one easy link for them to see all the choices. I am just starting out so I enjoy the convenience of the app. The guidance is clear and easy to understand, too. That is much appreciated. Pros I love that you can do it ALL in this app. I set my schedule, arranged the emails, created contact forms for each type of appointment, and put the appointment button on my website. I get a notice when I have an appointment set or changed. This scheduling App is exactly what I needed for my new business!! Cons I currently use the free edition. More legitimized as a new business, 2. I’m very grateful for the extended trial because this pandemic has really really affected me financially as I’m sure it’s done for most. So the extended trial allowed me to be able to earn a little more in order to secure an annual subscription. It’s worth it for me. Pros I like that I can customize my schedule availability (showing my clientele a limited availability by a %) because it helped me 1. Choose my hours that I would use for consultations and 2. Help me appear to have a busier schedule thus driving more clients to want to schedule with me. I also liked that I can customize the colors so that the calendar fits the aesthetic of my website. Cons It isn’t as user friendly as it could be (yet). It could be a little less complicated to navigate on the admin side, I had to google how to do certain functions because finding the answer wasn’t intuitive based on the layout of the site. March 7, 2017 5.0 When I was starting my new massage practice in the town where I moved, I looked at various different online booking. There seemed to be a lot of good ones, but many of them were above my budget. I tried free trails of Square Booking and Acuity. I found Acuity to be very easy to navigate and set up. Square was also good, but was a lot more expensive (twice as much for similar services). I also found the Square appointments a little harder to navigate as far as making adjustments to my schedule. During the free trial of Acuity, I loved that the appointments would sync with my calendar on my phone and that they would send confirmations to my clients. I decided to go with the free version until my business was more established. I have been very happy with the service. I still get notified if someone books and it is easy to include the link to my booking page on my website. (The upgrade versions allows you embed the booking page on your website which is also very nice.) I also liked that I could upgrade to add a person with very little cost if I ever expanded my practice to include another therapist. If you are looking for a simple affordable straightforward online booking platform, I would definitely recommend checking out Acuity. Pros I like the ease of adding appointments and blocking off times in my schedules. I also like that there is a free version which still meets the needs for my business. January 8, 2021 5.0 It has been great using acuity for some light scheduling that we do. It is not able to take over having an actual person manage the calendar, as sometimes we need to switch things around and it takes a real human to take a look through everyone's schedules. However, it is much easier to.manage the scheduling of staff with this than with outlook, which is what we used to use. This is a great improvement and has simplified scheduling! Pros It was pretty easy to set up and use, although we did have some trouble integrating our current Outlook and Gmail calendars since everyone used to use their own solutions to manage their schedule. Having the intake forms filled in beforehand was great, since we could keep electronic records and didn't have to scan each form as we did before. Haven't used the payment feature yet, but I have heard good things about the functionality it brings. This has made it easier for our staff to focus on other tasks rather than checking people in, and has also kept our records more organized. Cons The mobile app, while it is functional, is not very user friendly. The views are tricky to navigate and it is easy to get the days of the week confused when using a different view. Our firm began using this when the simple act of scheduling client meetings began to take up so much of our admin's time. Now we can just direct clients to our website link and let them find the time that works best for them. Plus, we can set different schedule for different times of year. Cons It does take a bit of time to learn how to get the right appointment times set up for the right types of clients. (New vs Old) Wish there was a very in-depth training on this.
