### "It's probably the best for a long term solution"

April 22, 2020

4.0

I ran a signal service for trading through the cloud with this software. It helped keep my trading program active 24/7, although it was on the difficult size to use and after the trial was up the cost were a little higher than I expected, but it is something that many of the top companies use. Amazon will be in the cloud service industry for sometime and they have the greatest capacity over all the other competition. I would probably go with Amazon for cloud service and learn RDS for any serious cloud project.

Pros

Free trial available and you can get up and running on the cloud. Create your own instance for business or person use on the cloud that runs 24/7 with reliable servers. Lots of YouTube videos to watch on the subject and there are even courses you can take online.

Cons

It's tricky to use and there's not a lot of support. There is learning curve if you want to use properly.

### "Amazon RDS is the best cloud based database service available."

November 28, 2018

5.0

Pros

Amazon RDS was quick to setup and has been extremely dependable. It is going to allow us to expand our offerings and abilities by providing a cloud based database that can be accessed without the need of a VPN or being on premise.

Cons

AWS in general can be difficult to understand. Many of the settings and features are not user friendly, even sometimes for an experienced software developer.

### "Reliable managed database service"

November 24, 2018

5.0

Pros

Super-reliable, fully-managed relational database service from Amazon. Provides good performance, with automatic backups and scaling, Amazon RDS is a stable back for companies of any size. As expected, integrates nicely with the rest of the Amazon stack.

Cons

Can be a bit overwhelming to set up at first and is rather an expensive service.

### "Low cost "

September 2, 2019

5.0

I used RDS with AWS lambda services.

Pros

Less cost for Relational Databases in AWS. If we create an instance and configure a Database it will spend more money. But AWS RDS only calculate cost for connections and transaction not for running time.

Cons

Not easy to configure a Relational Database. Have to spend some time with documentations.

### "The industry standard for cloud database management "

June 6, 2018

5.0

I was able to build a database that match my needs perfectly and pay a rate reasonable according to only what I needed

Pros

Is the most comprehensive tool available online for cloud-based database management. It offers every feature that any company could possibly need for their cloud-based storage needs and offers the scalability unparalleled by other services

Cons

Figuring out how to work with this service is not the easiest thing to do. I feel like the documentation is written by people who already know how to use it and therefore assume that things are intuitive which really are not. Furthermore, getting support and direction may end up costing you money if you can't figure it out yourself

### "Powerful but not for everyone"

January 19, 2019

4.0

I needed a DB for some of my projects, so I had to do it with was.

Pros

The easy building and configuration, the elasticity you need for big apps.

Cons

This product may be powerful but if you are a normal user, it can become a pain, if you need a DB ask for help to a better comprehensive.

### "The best place to start with cloud computing"

May 2, 2019

5.0

We are a student development team, our task is to make a dummy php website and we use the RDS as our SQL database. We are happy with the performance and the uptime

Pros

It is very easy to setup. I registered for the free 1 year trial when You can run an RDS database (mysql) for free, for a year. The allowed hours just cover the necessary run. With minimal IT experience is possible to run such a database, and it's pretty fast for development purposes, but try to use Your region. It works great with other services like amazon like Elastic Beanstalk.

Cons

It offers a correct amount of service for basically free. I didn't need to pay yet, and I can control my costs via the dashboard

### "A database service that combines simplicity and robust management of your cloud database."

June 6, 2019

4.0

Amazon RDS is a service that delivers what it promises: a database service that combines simplicity and robust management of your database along with the flexibility of a cloud tool. However, it is a recommended service for small and medium-sized businesses because of the complexity of managing big dates.

Pros

The backup tools is automated and easy to use.

Cons

It's still not possible to export snapshots.

### "Difficult to use, easy once you get the hang of it."

September 5, 2019

5.0

Currently using it for its affordability and reliability.

Pros

It's very affordable and reliable. That's the bottom-line, really. It also happens to get easier to use over time.

Cons

It's very hard to get started. UI is extremely bloated and near impossible to navigate if you don't know what you're looking for.

### "Workspace"

July 10, 2020

5.0

Very very good experience with this platform. I am hoping to go back to it.

Pros

This I was a bit apprehensive to use it but when I started to it was fluid and precise! I really did enjoy using it with my work programs.

Cons

That my employer did not keep it very long but I really want it to come back. I do not have a say in that but can mention it.

### "Gold standard of cloud-based relational database management"

November 21, 2018

5.0

Use cases at our company in managing relational databases

Pros

By far, the flexibility AWS offers to developers in managing relational databases in cloud-based infrastructure is its best feature. You can make use of all kinds of SQL databases, provision resources, and build out features that best fit your use cases. Furthermore, you pay for what you use, like all AWS products. Amazingly flexible and powerful.

Cons

Again, as with all AWS, the barrier for entry is quite steep. You have to do a lot of research and develop a proper understanding of all AWS services to properly integrate into your infrastructure.

### "Powerful durable databases"

July 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

So many great features, near infinite scalability, redundancy, replication, all dead simple to set up vs. the old days of setting up and configuring servers. I can setup worldwide cluster of databases in minutes, the future is now.

Cons

I tried but really can't think of anything. There's so many features and settings it's like drinking fro m a firehouse but take a little time to learn everything and you'll be fine.
