Overall quite positive. I think it's easy to get in touch with my rep who is familiar with our account, as well as open a case with their support team for anything more complicated than a single direct question. Most of what they do is fast, simple, professional, thorough. It's not a cheap platform to be sure but it is extremely reliable and saves our team lots of time, so we're fine with the cost.

Pros

Ease of use, especially payroll processing. This process used to take me most of the day using other payroll providers, but I can complete this task in under an hour every two weeks now. And we have a mix of hourly, salary, part-time and full-time employees so our payroll runs are not simple.

Cons

Setting up custom paid leave and time off plans. As I mentioned above we have a mix of FT, PT, hourly, and salaried employees, and we have different leave plans available to some groups and not others. Trinet is not extremely flexible in this way leaving us to pursue workarounds and other strategies to keep track of various comp/flex time.

I highly appreciate the fantastic customer service that my assigned TriNet consultants have offered over the years as this gives me confidence that I can talk with "someone" and not just a machine/AI to review or assist on a matter; I am happy to say that this top-notch customer service aspect has remained after almost 7 years of working with TriNet team members. The platform also provides good security for personal information (multi-factor verification). Our company has been on a PEO model, and the TriNet-sponsored benefits have great options for all of our employees in addition to a super easy benefits election process during Open Enrollment period!

Pros

What I like most about TriNet is their continuous push for improvement across all their service, process, and products that benefit both existing clients and new SMBs. I have been using TriNet for over 6 years and have witnessed this positive change. I've observed that almost all of the changes over the years make a positive impact in my daily/weekly workflows, which is rare as I find that most tech changes are often design-related and not truly for a better user experience. TriNet also has a wonderful virtual community named The Wing, and we all connect and learn from each other in that community while completing challenges and earning points for rewards which makes the experience even greater!

Cons

I'd like to get more legal information on an employee-level. Our company is on a PEO model. If I did not have Admin/Manager-level access, I feel that I would not be as informed and would not know where to go to easily find certain information. I would also like TriNet to offer immediate access to virtual trainings such as Harassment/Discrimination and Workplace Violence Prevention upon a new hire. I was previously informed that access to these trainings is not immediately available on the new employee's first work day.

TriNet has been a reliable partner for scaling our HR infrastructure. It completely takes the headache out of multi-state payroll, tax compliance, and benefits administration. While the platform UI can feel a bit rigid and the premium pricing is a significant investment, the ability to offer enterprise-level health insurance and perks to our small team makes it well worth it.

Pros

Compliance and HR Support: Having access to legal compliance guidance and risk management experts helps HR teams navigate complex employment laws without hiring internal legal counsel.

Cons

Abrupt System Logouts & Technical Glitches: Some reviewers mention minor technical frustrations, such as frequent automatic logouts for security or temporary glitches during peak benefits enrollment periods.

I have been an HR representative with my organization for 9 years. I've been with TriNet 8 out of those 9 years, and I have used CPEhr and ADP in other organizations. TriNet support team and portal have been the easiest to use and navigate.

Pros

I love how easy it is to manage payroll and W2s. Having employee onboarding and exit in the same place we manage benefits and performance is fantastic, especially for a SMB team where HR wears many hats. The chat feature for support is my favorite because I have help in real time, and very rarely is it difficult to communicate with the TriNet representatives.

Cons

It is pricey, but much like insurance you see the true value of the price once you start needed to use the resources available on the TriNet portal, mainly OSHA questions, payroll questions, and some legal employer-employee obligations.

Helpful but a bit expensive, it helps on having a quick answer to any question but getting a report they just send you a thread and not helping

Employee Management, process automation, connect 360 is a big help when an issue arises from employee

Overall, TriNet is great for me because it keeps so much information in one spot. I like that all of the information is in one place rather than having to hunt information down. HR is new to me in general and TriNet has been a big help.

Pros

There is a lot of valuable information on the platform. From employee time cards to time-off requests to benefit information. TriNet is a valuable tool!

Cons

I am still new to TriNet, so I can't really say that there's anything I dislike about it. Perhaps as I use it more I can come up with an idea for improvement.

Overall my experience has been good, but I wish the reports and analytics were more user friendly. My boss often asks me for specific info and eventually I can get what he needs but it takes much longer than it should

Pros

Trinet makes payroll seamless and really helps with our employee management. It's nice to have everything in one place

Cons

The reports are often very confusing to filter, especially if I'm in a hurry. There are too many filters that are irrelevant and just get in the way

My experience with TriNet is very positive. The employees are responsive and knowledgeable. We have employees in multiple states don't have to be aware of every state employment law. We've never had an issue with security breaches or product issues. Payroll entry is quick and simple, 401k administration is through Empower and employees have access via mobile app, too.

Pros

TriNet is an all-inclusive PEO that's easy to learn and simple to use. The website is well-built and intuitive to navigate. The Chat feature makes it quick to get an answer to a question or help to resolve a payroll issue. There are numerous healthcare choices for employees to select from and multiple additional insurance options available.

Cons

The growing cost of healthcare has hit all PEO and private insurance companies but our annual cost for medical insurance has been acceptable thus far.

TriNet has a great setup for smaller, start up companies, and or Companies that are growing monthly/as needed.

Cons

TriNet setup for Full time hourly employee's eligible for Holiday pay was always needed to be entered manually.

Its been overall pretty good, there are snags along the way and we have learned techniques to get those fixed.

Pros

Trinet has been valuable to our company, but again there have been certain issues and kinks we have had to work through.

Cons

There are some issues with payroll at points, and then we have issues with employees being paid on time.
