The icon commands are great but still I like more typing my commands. Pros I like that the software is very simple to use, some of the commands are not very intuitive but once you learn, it is quite easy. Very useful for urban development design. It is intuitive and quick to use. Full of shortcuts. Quality of the drawings is very high. Cons When the design is more demanding, the software lacks the necessary tools to meet the requirements. You can find yourself wasting a lot of time trying to search how to do some crazy design. It can handle big sized files compared to the rivals. Microstation provides easy ways to customize and making workflows. It has Geographic datum tools for re-projecting or using survey datums in real world coordinates so it's very useful in survey POV Cons Dimension tool seems to be unprofessional Lack of dynamic blocks Text tool also needs improvement Review Source SP Sean P. Generally easy to use. The the option to open menus as tool boxes or select from drop downs. Cons I do not like the Keyins. I like where Microstation is going with the Connect Edition. Simplyfing it and making it easy to use. Also like the fact that its compatible with GeoPAK and Inroads. Cons The UI could be better. Too many dialogue boxes are to be opened to complete a simple task. Sometimes it freezes when trying to work with multiple files. Review Source EN Elizabeth N. Architect Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "microstation was always our company go to, great for 3D and precision, but not recently :-(" January 23, 2018 5.0 when I first began to use it in the early 2000s it was easy to customize for our company standards and get what we wanted from the software as far as 3D and extractions. Now it has become too cumbersome to have to redo all of our standards for the new 3D capabilities, no money to create all new customization Pros What I like most is the ease of use and precision it provides when doing 3D structures and extractions as well as sheet files. Cons It is no longer adaptable to new ways of use for company standards. It has been difficult to keep up our standards in the new releases, just too much customization. Even the standards we had for previous 3D info is no longer useable and new ones just take too long to create and implement so we have had to go with other software to do our work now, which is really sad for me as Microstation has always been my go to software. There are many options within the program for producing designs and many different features which can be added to models and prints. The level of customization with the design using this program allows it to be an outstanding option when considering a CAD system to use. Cons What I like least is that sometimes it can be hard to keep track of all of the little options. While I really liked that so many options for customization of a design exist, I wish that it could be in more of an organize fashioned. It is organized to a degree, but it is not the most intuitive organization. Usually, those clients want a fast turnaround and I think Microstation makes it easy for me to finish projects faster. Pros I think this software is easy to use. A beginner would have no issues plus the shortcuts are really beneficial and easy to learn. Cons I don't think it compares to anywhere AutoCAD is.
