The process for tracking sprints and transferring tickets throughout the board operates with high efficiency. The system enables our team to maintain shared understanding about which team members handle different bug fixes and user story tasks without requiring us to ask each other.

Cons

The initial experience proves to be excessively challenging. The multiple menus and available options create a cumbersome experience when users attempt to perform basic task updates. The system becomes unmanageable when project managers and administrators create excessive custom workflows because users experience extreme difficulty in moving tickets to the "Done" status. The system experiences performance issues because it becomes slow and unresponsive when the backlog exceeds its capacity.

The company was doing everything right 4 years ago. Since then, it has clearly pivoted in the completely wrong direction and has started to produce a very poor quality product.

Pros

Jira is a straight-forward product for product planning. It originally ticked off all the features I could possibly want for agile methodology development flows. Users can be managed via third party integrations, and boards are easy to design

Cons

The company has leaned heavily into AI without first polishing existing features. There is a lot of core functionality missing, and a lot of it feels very low quality, yet the main thing they are producing are AI chatbots to provide poor quality summaries of tickets.

its basically the industry standard right now. even tho its a bit slow i dont think ther is any other tool that handles complex projects as good as jira does. we use it every day at work n it keeps everythin organized, just wish it was a little faster and less clunky.

Pros

the best thing about jira is the way it handles tickets n backlogs. like if ur doin agile or kanban it just works perfect. we use it wth bitbucket integration so seein PR links directly in the ticket is a huge time saver. plus u can customize the workflow to basically anythin u want.

Cons

honestly jira is just way too heavy. sometimes it takes forever to load a single page which is annoying when u just wanna check a task. also the UI can be super confusing for new people. like ther are so many buttons and settings hideing everywhere... its a bit of a steep lerning curve if u ask me.

I'd give it a solid 4 stars. It is the industry standard for a reason, and for managing software development sprints with multiple teams, it does exactly what it needs to do. However, I can't give it 5 stars because the clunky UI and occasional slowness hold it back from being perfect. Honestly, it is absolute overkill for a tiny team or a simple to-do list. But once you finally get through the painful setup process, it actually keeps massive projects organized and stops bugs from falling through the cracks

Pros

The biggest advantage is how customizable the workflows are. If your team has a specific or unusual process, you can map it out exactly. I really rely on the integrations with Confluence and GitHub - it’s incredibly helpful to see code commits or doc pages linked directly to a ticket so I don't have to go digging around. The drag-and-drop Kanban and Scrum boards make running our daily standups much easier and keep everyone on the same page.

Cons

It is incredibly heavy and sometimes feels slow. Taking seconds just to load a single ticket or update a status gets annoying when you are in a rush. Jira will completely flood your inbox with useless notification emails.

As a Head of Product with a PO/PM background, Jira excels at tracking technical work and sprint management. The integration with developer tools (Git, CI/CD) is solid. Backlog management and estimation features work well for traditional agile ceremonies. It's an industry standard, which means most tech teams are familiar with it. The reporting capabilities are comprehensive once you figure them out. For pure software development tracking, it does the job reliably.

Cons

The tool feels rigid and doesn't adapt fluidly to diverse workflows. The pricing model is frustrating, you need to pay significantly more to unlock the most valuable features, which feels like nickel-and-diming. Compared to modern tools like Notion, Jira lacks flexibility and feels stuck in an older paradigm. The ticket-centric approach is limiting for product strategy work, discovery, and cross-functional collaboration. Customization is complex and requires admin expertise. The UX hasn't evolved much and feels dated compared to newer alternatives. It's built for engineering workflows but struggles with the broader product management needs like ideation, research synthesis, and stakeholder alignment.

Jira is a great tool to support project work , we utilise this in our tech team to ensure we capture all work items , using the back log to add tickets to then refine the back log weekly to move these items into the Kanban board to work these. We also use these to then manage these using the different groups , eg: to do , in Progress , in review , done

The way we use Jira is primarily for campaign builds: building websites for refresh tasks, email sequences, changing paid search stuff or the occasional client journey diagram. It is more software than we technically need, but it is good to have project collaboration not live in my head. I would keep it if it were for that amount of money, as freelancers come and go. Simply allow an afternoon to just clean up the setup.

Pros

The visibility is what I like the most. Jira allows me to view landing page content, ad creatives, client approvals, and dev ticket without having to track down Slack threads for a 2-10 person shop. Task management is sufficiently described for retainers, and the collaboration amongst group feels cleaner in the mornings on Monday. Whiteboards / diagrams creation helps to map the ideas before we convert them to work items. We believe the pricing is reasonable for the amount of tracking we receive.

Cons

The configuration can become very complicated. I still try to conceal 50% of the fields so that account managers don't get bored. Easy to use is OK after training, but not on day one. Customer support has responded to tickets, but the responses can sometimes lead to documentation, and I was looking for a very simple answer for a small agency workflow.

Overall, my experience was excellent. The majority of the time I was working with Epix, which allowed me to create tickets and point and color code and create an easy view for my team. It was difficult at times when I was looking for historical data and metrics for each Engineer. You have to learn its own clearing language, but it wasn’t too bad.

I genuinely appreciated the work that went in to making project boards understandable and easy to work with. I could color code and see the scope of work for each engineer and for each project.

Cons

Querying can be difficult and often I wasn’t seeing all of the historical work for an engineer that I thought I should be.

My overall experience has been decent with Jira when it comes to tracking, planning and managing projects and tasks.

Pros

Jira is the most robust project portfolio program that I have ever used. I like how it allows me to also collaborate on projects and manage tasks automatically.

Cons

Unavailability of some crucial features such as video conferencing was overwhelming when I was a new user since I hadn’t integrated with external applications.

My overall experience with Jira has been exceptional. It’s very easy to manage leads within the platform and if you’re collaborating with your sales team or even with other departments, it’s way easier and more flexible to collaborate, manage projects and manage tasks. With Scrum Boards, we are able to break down massive projects into manageable chunks of work and this helps the team become more efficient. This has been a game changer for us and the main reason I love using Jira

Pros

What I love the most about Jira is that you can consolidate tools between departments and the Sales, Marketing, HR and Operations Teams can use the same platform in the different departments. This makes it easy to collaborate between departments and helps with tool consolidation which saves costs as well.

Cons

I haven’t found anything I do not like about Jira so far. Jira has served its purpose without any major challenges
