November 1, 2021

5.0

Pros

The overall workflow along with clearly partitioned tasks is JIRA's will be my most liked feature. It makes tasks management and collaboration very easy.

Cons

It's difficult to get started with. For new resources, the platform could be a little overwhelming, just the look and feel of it.

### "Best work management tool for programmers."

May 23, 2022

5.0

If you are a programmer it has all the necessary features and nothing more, so it doesn't look overwhelming. The debug feature is the best one you will find, and we know that bugs/errors are major setbacks for programming projects. I can assure that Jira is the best work management tool for programmers.

Pros

Jira's features are focused on programmers/scrum teams. The features are specific for a niche public and as a result it doesn't look overwhelming with unnecessary tools. The bug tracker works perfectly.

Cons

Jira is very niche so it has not the necessary features for projects related to other areas.

### "All tickets together."

January 16, 2023

5.0

It increased the efficiency of my work by 100% and reduced the time loss to zero.

Pros

You can see all the tickets opened for IT or HR on one page, and you can access them faster. The design you have made is of course important, but the site is very easy to use. You can be instantly notified of a new ticket or a comment made to the ticket by email.

Cons

I like everything. Its really useful program.

### "Jira is a very powerful and popular project managment tool"

December 19, 2019

5.0

Jira is the industry standard for issue management. It's popularity helps it to be familiar for new users but still different enough due to customization that each project can have.

Pros

It's quite easy to get started using Jira for new employees. It's very powerful for advanced users as well with custom queries and ability to customize the ticket's fields, Sprint Board and ticket lifecycle.

Cons

Ticket vs. Story vs. Sub-ticket - The distinction isn't really clear on when you should really use each of them. It is often confusing for people and leads to mistakes. Your personal experience with Jira would vary heavily based of your project's administrator's decisions to configure the ticket lifecycle, custom fields, JIra board appearance and so on. As a user that is not an administrator you can't tweak or create a personal view of Jira that is convenient for you, so often you rely on your administrator's judgment of what is good for the company/project. Since each Jira project can have different settings, it is often painful to re-assign a ticket between projects as they require different type of fields which sometime you don't have the right context to know what they mean in a big organization. Each custom field should have a hint to explain what it means and provide an example. Each project/component should have a default assignee to triage the ticket if you don't know to whom you should assign it.

Cons

Se debe ser un usuario un poco avanzado en conocimientos de tecnologia para poder utilizar la herramienta ya que la misma tiene demasiadas opciones por utilizar.

### "JIRA a great bug tracker"

August 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

We use to have the software installed in our company as a change management and collaborative tool, it comes with the great features like the confluence work as a document repository, activity tracked to manage and collaborate work with other team members. Apart from that JIRA has a great way of designing workflows to resolve bugs, way to issue management and triage them. Moreover, it can be integrated with the code repository like Bitbucket to show code changes and comes integrated with Bamboo to show build activity. It works on JQL a powerful query building language using in order to search various activities happening throughout the issue database. It has added feature call Greenhopper which is an addon that makes it possible to follow work to implement on Agile methods, there are several addons that facilitate QA task as well, JIRA market place has hundreds of Addon that you can use for various tasks.

Cons

Its cost incrementally increases when the number of users increased

### "JIRA for professional project management"

June 13, 2020

5.0

Even though prior experience to agile practices is essential to understand the different features In JIRA, I appreciate the fact that much thoughts have been put into developing this software and it really does show with sprint planning and syncing with other Atlassian tools such as Confluence and BitBucket

Pros

This software is built with agile development method in mind with the easy to use drag and drop of task functionality to update the status of each ticket in terms of progress made.

Cons

Because it is built with agile method in mind, there are a lot of essential terminologies and concepts built into the software that someone unfamiliar with this development method might need a crash course before jumping into creating a new project.

### "Big learning curve"

January 28, 2021

5.0

The learning curve to onboard to this tool is pretty steep. I would recommend hiring an external consultant if this is new to your whole organization. It can be learned through trial and error, make sure to have one or two main "owners" who control the workflows and other areas so it does not get out of control.

Pros

Great for managing tasks, and creating a customized workflow for what your team needs. Can create complex workflows to fit into various needs. There are several

Cons

The UI on the tool leaves much to be desired. It has a long ramp-up process to figure out the best workflows for your team. To do any kind of advanced functionality like time tracking or recurring tasks usually requires an add-on.

### "JIRA is a giant but now there are other options"

August 19, 2022

3.0

I used Jira a lot as a bug tracker and then as Project Scheduling/managment software. It is a nice tool, but today I'm prone to use Asana, Clickup or monday

Pros

Original approach to bug tracking, that evolved to project Scheduling, with an easy integration with other Atlassian tools.

Cons

Sometimes is hard to see the big picture. Other, new platforms have better approach for small projects

I like JIRA to manage team's daily task in addition to customer's demand tracking.

Pros

Easy implementation is best feature of the software, especially cloud environment. Also it's a good example of all-in-one task and project management software.

Cons

Dashboard feature is not advanced, and price is a little bit high.

### "Jira is great"

September 9, 2020

5.0

Jira is an essential tool to my workflow that i use daily. It is good at what it was designed for and It keeps my whole team on track as well as in the know of what everyone is working on and the stage that they are in.

Pros

I like all the capabilities of the software. My team uses it for project management and tracking for video production and i think its a great tool. It tracks the stages of our projects well, time tracking is easy, the way it holds resources and holds project information is really detailed too and organized. It helps me stay on track and in the know of what I’m working on as well as being able to check in with teammates with ease on their projects.

Cons

I’m not a huge fan of the update to the interface but thankfully i can still switch to the old view which is what i use majority of the time. Sometimes moving a project stage can be a pain as well cuz there seems to be more of a stepper system vs a just drop down and click system.

### "A goto product for bug tracking in your companY"

August 24, 2020

5.0

Worked with other bug tracking tools in several companies and nothing matches the experience of using Jira. Very straightforward and less time spent to update bugs/ features on Jira and easy to migrate from traditional to agile planning.

Pros

The ability to integrate with other development tools like github, vscode, codecollaborator etc Easy to share and create queries on dashboard.

Cons

lacks text editor feature while writing a comment or description. The code palette could do better text display formatting. Also, need more text formatting options to display highlighted words or specific sentences when quoted

### "Jira has been an essential tool in managing projects, client issues/bugs, and enhancement tasks"

November 27, 2022

5.0

My main reason for choosing Jira was that I wanted a solution where I could grant my clients access to be able to add tasks or bugs and Jira has worked perfectly for that purpose. I have a few clients where I do a weekly status meeting and Jira is our main focus in the call. We review all issues with the 'In Review' status and if approved, we move them to the 'Done' status. We then look at outstanding items and adjust priorities as needed. My team then has their marching orders for the week.

Pros

The ability to assign priority ratings and then assign a task to a resource is great. I can then run reports to see all open, in progress, and done tasks by project, priority, or resource.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve. Jira is an extremely powerful tool and sometimes a bit overwhelming. In fact, I would guess that my team is only using a portion of the features available to us.

Jira integrates perfectly with a plethora of different tools. Very easy to set up, the GUI is also fully customizable and very neat. A lot of features are available to follow your SDLC by keeping track of the tasks, progress, releases, tickets, etc.

Pros

Jira handles extremely well the whole software development lifecycle, allowing you to completely control tasks, progress, notifications and so on.

Cons

Jira can be quite expensive if your team is big.

May 15, 2023

Pros

I like that it provided different views for tickets, it’s more PM friendly than other ticket managements softwares, and you don’t have to use all its features to get a lot out of it.

Cons

It’s got a massive learning curve. I’ve been using for over a year and a half and I’m still learning things everyday. Some flows are not as straight forward as others are. Sometimes I feel like I’m making things up to get by.

I'm very pleased with Jira, use in in couple of projects, fits well in all cases

Pros

Flexibility, especially since the next-gen versions (huge improvement). From quick kanban to scrum in seconds, and you can adjust on the go as you need (awesome).

### "Comprehensive Project Planning"

September 9, 2020

5.0

JIRA is very useful once everything is properly setup. It is a reliable way to document information and can look very presentable once you are over the learning curve.

Pros

JIRA integrates with other Atlassian products which makes it very useful for maintaining documentation of projects. There are a lot of customizations that can be made that allow the workflow to be optimized. The data from JIRA can then be easily queried through their JQL query syntax to allow for the project information to be displayed in multiple useful formats.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve to using JIRA. It takes a while to get everything set up to manage a project in a way that fits the company.
