Jira has been wonderful to work with. Project management and product development in a complex dev environment has been easier with Jira

Pros

JIRA is fantastic to use. The task management and Kanban board are easy to understand. Superb for handling complex software developments/Projects

Cons

On JIRA, I am not able to create multiple child tasks to get a better view holistically, so that I can have a branch mechanism for individual departments

### "Jira makes agile easy"

I use Jira every day as part of my scrum team - it is a great way to visualize tasks and collaborate to achieve our goals

Pros

It makes it really easy to see tasks and work in an agile way to achieve our goals as a team. I like the sprint boards that you can customize with different headings so there is transparency about the status of tasks across the team.

Cons

It can be a little bit buggy at times. Some days it seems to run really slowly and be quite laggy as you are navigating around the site. It also doesnt auto update when someone is making changes to the board - you have to refresh to see what changes have been made which can be a little annoying and lead to some repetition

Use it pretty much every day now and it's made a big difference in how I keep track of the team's workload. Hard to imagine running things without it honestly.

Pros

I like that I can just open the board and see right away what's stuck or moving. Helps me follow up with the right person without needing to send a bunch of messages.

Cons

Some parts take too many clicks, like when I want to change the view or find a specific sprint. Wish the search was a bit smarter, sometimes I type something in and still gotta scroll to find what I need.

It’s a pleasure to use this tool and I get excited when I see companies using it because it I understand the efficiency it creates internally for teams.

Pros

The collaboration and transparency the tool creates inter-departmentally and cross functionally between companies is phenomenal.

Cons

Would love a way to request permissions within the product. I currently need to reach out to parties outside of the platform via email when I don’t have permissions to certain documents or boards, or want to be a watcher on a ticket. It would be nice if there was an ask for permission button within the browser.

Pros

its simple interface it got that makes it easy to work with thereby allowing me to efficiently manage both my tasks and projects. Tracking the progress made on each projects have used this software to manage has been easy to do. Its instant messaging feature has also been helpful for me to pass productive information to employees. Its also easy for me to market our various projects which has helped to let people know about our services we render. I also like its notification feature as it keeps me on track on any development on managing my projects and tasks.

Cons

I often experience glitch when am using it to manage complex projects aside from this it works well for me.

Easy to open and follow a ticket from beginning to resolution. I liked the ability to search similar issues and find solutions that may have been more difficult using tribal knowledge

Pros

Jira made it easy to submit and follow a ticket. Adding information or followers to the ticket was simple.

Cons

It was difficult for us to tie tickets together (similar/same/recurring issues). Having this would have made it super easy to track/tie issues

Jira has eased my life and has helped me to organize the dev work. Tracking bugs, sprint planning and following up tickets are all things that I’ve used it for without losing a block of momentum.

Cons

It sometimes made it confusing to see all the tickets in all the sprints that were currently active across different boards.

Cons

I had issues of system lagging when loading Jira with large data volumes. However, the customer support helped me solve this.

I used Jira for many years; we integrated it into our daily operations as our company scaled. It helped avoid informal exchanges over Slack and prevented losing track of recurring incidents

Pros

Best way to communicate with tech, product and ops teams and to track incidents internally

Cons

We don’t have control over the progress of the ticket, it would be useful to add real-time tracking, similar to what Trello offers

Linux based on premise boxes are hard to upgrade and configure

Pros

With Jira, I can have a granular view of team velocity and pin point bottlenecks in the cycle. This has fit well into our agile workflow and enables everyone to be on the same page of what comes next.

Cons

JQL for custom queries is a little bit of a pill to digest using the search filter logic, though. During sprint retros I had to double check filters often.

Cons

Jira is primarily designed for developers and delivery-focused teams, but today’s multidisciplinary teams require tools that go beyond delivery. We need solutions that seamlessly connect strategy, customer research, and proposition development with the people responsible for building and delivering those customer experiences. Compared to the new tools available, Jira feels pretty rigid—you can’t easily tweak fields or settings to fit the way different teams work
