### "Industry standard, good for dev teams but lacks flexibility for product work"

November 27, 2025

4.0

Jira is powerful for engineering teams tracking tickets and sprints, but I find it rigid and poorly adapted to modern product workflows. The pricing structure is frustrating (you pay a lot to unlock the best features). Tools like Notion offer much more flexibility for how product teams actually work. While it remains the industry standard for dev teams, I now recommend more flexible alternatives for holistic product management.

Pros

As a Head of Product with a PO/PM background, Jira excels at tracking technical work and sprint management. The integration with developer tools (Git, CI/CD) is solid. Backlog management and estimation features work well for traditional agile ceremonies. It's an industry standard, which means most tech teams are familiar with it. The reporting capabilities are comprehensive once you figure them out. For pure software development tracking, it does the job reliably.

Cons

The tool feels rigid and doesn't adapt fluidly to diverse workflows. The pricing model is frustrating, you need to pay significantly more to unlock the most valuable features, which feels like nickel-and-diming. Compared to modern tools like Notion, Jira lacks flexibility and feels stuck in an older paradigm. The ticket-centric approach is limiting for product strategy work, discovery, and cross-functional collaboration. Customization is complex and requires admin expertise. The UX hasn't evolved much and feels dated compared to newer alternatives. It's built for engineering workflows but struggles with the broader product management needs like ideation, research synthesis, and stakeholder alignment.

### "Jira review"

January 28, 2026

4.0

Jira is great and I would definitely recommend Jira to use to manage products in IT or in any project area. It works well for our team and we are able to see at quick glance tasks that are in progress and done. We use this each day for our daily stand ups to discuss the project progress.

Pros

Jira is a great tool to support project work , we utilise this in our tech team to ensure we capture all work items , using the back log to add tickets to then refine the back log weekly to move these items into the Kanban board to work these. We also use these to then manage these using the different groups , eg: to do , in Progress , in review , done

Cons

Learning all the different ways you can use Jira takes a bit of time . You can use this project management tools in many ways

### "Tried & True but Could Do With Some Much Needed Small Improvements"

January 19, 2026

4.0

I've been using Jira nearly every business day for the past 11 years. I've also used it in different implementations at 3 different companies. Each had its own unique way of incorporating the platform into its workflow. Each had its benefits, but each also has its own smaller nitpicky things that I wish Atlassion would fix. At the end of the day though, Jira is extremely powerful, and I honestly can't imagine not having it as a daily software development tool.

Pros

There's a reason is basically the gold standard for software development teams to manage their workflows. It's fully customizable, but also provides a clear path for issuing and tracking projects and development efforts. It's highly collaborative and incredibly powerful for both small and very large teams.

Cons

The platform is very slow to introduce new features. I understand not wanting to rock the boat too much, since so many people use it every single day. However, I think it's overdue for some quality-of-life UX improvements and introduction of net-new features. Also, its notification system is frustratingly so close to being good, but falls short of being useful. I'm unable to use the mobile app's push/badge notifications because there's no way of marking one as unread after opening it. Not only that, if I have 20 new updates and I open one of them, all 20 are now marked as read. Because of this, I'm forced to use email notifications to ensure I don't miss anything, but now my inbox is 70% bloated with Jira notification... Again, I just wish they would improve smaller, seemingly obvious shortcomings like this.

### "Powerful but Complex Project Management for Serious Teams"

December 9, 2025

4.0

My overall experience has been positive, especially once the system was tailored to my team’s workflow. It’s reliable, flexible, and extremely useful for keeping large or complex projects organized. However, the learning curve and setup time are significant, and smaller teams may find it more complicated than necessary. Once it’s configured well, Jira becomes a powerful central hub for project collaboration.

Pros

I like that Jira gives teams a clear, detailed structure for managing work. It’s highly customizable, supports complex workflows, and makes it easy to track progress across sprints, epics, and projects. The integrations with Confluence, Git tools, and automation features are major advantages.

Cons

Jira can quickly become overwhelming due to the number of menus, settings, and configuration options. It’s not very beginner-friendly, and building or adjusting workflows often requires admin help. The interface can feel cluttered, and simple tasks sometimes take more clicks than they should.

### "Life-Saving Automations: How Jira Transformed Our Workflow."

April 12, 2026

5.0

Our transition from Google Sheets to Jira has revolutionized our operations. It has made our workflow much more professional and highly productive. By automating our shipment tracking and ticket creation alerts, we’ve eliminated human error and reclaimed significant time for the team. It is a robust tool that has streamlined our entire process.

Pros

Time Savings: Moving from Google Sheets to Jira has saved my team approximately 3 hours of manual work every day. • Automation: The automatic email notifications triggered after shipments are a lifesaver. It provides instant visibility on shipment status and kit counts without manual tracking. • Efficiency: I love that we get instant notifications the moment a ticket is created, which eliminates the need for tedious copying and pasting of data.

Cons

Board Complexity: While the system is powerful, the ticket system on the Jira board can feel a bit overwhelming or "clunky" when trying to plan out very short-term, day-to-day tasks. It takes some time to get the view exactly right for daily planning.

### "Powerful Agile and Issue Tracking Tool for Engineering Teams"

May 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira was positive. It worked well for Agile project management, sprint planning, issue tracking, and team collaboration. The platform is highly customizable and suitable for teams of different sizes, especially in software development environments. Although there is a learning curve and some complexity in setup, it remains one of the most reliable tools for managing engineering and QA workflows efficiently.

Pros

It makes life so easy to report a bug or create a story or a spike or any type of tasks and you can create measurable metrics out of everything. Integrations with AI helps in fine tuning your descriptions I liked the flexibility in creating workflows, dashboards, and custom issue types based on team needs.

Cons

Jira can feel overwhelming for new users because of the number of configuration options and settings.

### "Potente herramienta "

May 26, 2026

5.0

### "Manufacturing, QA, and Cost Tracking using Jira."

April 19, 2026

5.0

Overall my experience with Jira is good. It helps in organizing work like ticket creation for reagent manufacturing, change order process, and QA report tracking. It improves communication between departments and keeps record of all activities. It is also cost effective for managing multiple workflows and gives some support in tracking invoicing-related tasks when linked with processes. But it can be improved by making it more user-friendly.

Pros

I like that Jira helps to track all the tasks in one place. It is very useful for creating tickets related to manufacturing of reagent of clinical chemistry buffer. Also it is easy to follow up on change orders for documents and to manage QA report procurement for lyo beads. The workflow system helps to assign tasks and monitor progress clearly between different teams.

Cons

Sometimes Jira is little complex to use, especially for new users. The interface can feel confusing and takes time to understand. Also creating or updating tickets can be time consuming when there are many required fields.

### "Reliable platform to manage IT projects."

June 12, 2026

5.0

Jira has been a great help for our IT team, specifically for the management of software development projects and tracking their progress. It has good functionality as well, it can be used for collaboration with other teams, but it has a learning curve to get the most out of it. While it’s not the cheapest solution available, the benefits, particularly in terms of organization and visibility, have made it worth the investment for our company.

Pros

Jira is a good solid base to manage tasks in different teams, particularly for our development and testing processes. Loving the ability to be so specific in dependency and specifying who does what, so our timelines can always be kept open for all concerned. Detailed reporting has been useful for our weekly team review and the interaction with Confluence makes it easier to update the documentation.

Cons

For new users, the interface can be daunting and difficult to appreciate, particularly in larger projects that have numerous parts. The advanced features, such as automation rules, can take a bit of time to master and this might be difficult for smaller teams or if you don't have admin support. Also, at times slowdowns during tasks with more complex boards, or at busier times.

### "Software per la gestione dei progetti completo"

April 20, 2026

4.0

### "A Powerful Tool for Managing Projects and Team Collaboration"

December 11, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with Jira has been very positive. It keeps my entire team aligned and makes it easy to track progress, deadlines, and blockers. Once the workflows are set up properly, the productivity boost is huge. Automations help reduce manual work, and integrations make the system feel complete. It has definitely improved transparency and task ownership within our projects.

Pros

Jira is extremely powerful for managing tasks, bugs, and project workflows. I really like its flexibility—whether it’s Scrum, Kanban, or a custom workflow, it can adapt to any team. The dashboard, automation rules, and integration with tools like Confluence, GitHub, and Slack make collaboration very smooth. Tracking sprint progress and issue history is also very easy. Overall, it brings great visibility and structure to daily work

Cons

Jira can feel overwhelming for new users because of the number of features and configuration options. Some pages load a bit slow, and setting up custom workflows or permissions takes time. The UI has improved, but still can feel slightly complex for non-technical users.

### "Powerful and scalable project management platform"

December 21, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been excellent. It is a reliable, scalable, and well-designed platform that supports both simple and complex project management needs. Jira improves transparency, accountability, and collaboration, and it scales well as teams and projects grow. It has become a core tool for organizing work and delivering projects successfully.

Pros

Jira is an extremely powerful and flexible tool for project and task management, especially for technical, product, and development teams. It adapts well to different workflows through Scrum and Kanban boards, custom fields, automation rules, and a large ecosystem of integrations. It provides excellent visibility into project status, dependencies, and priorities, making collaboration and planning much more effective across teams.

Cons

Jira can feel overwhelming at first due to the number of features and configuration options available. New users may experience a learning curve, and initial setup requires some planning to get the most value out of the platform. That said, once properly configured, Jira becomes intuitive and highly efficient to use.

### "JIra is a Best of Class Tool for Managing Agile Development and Product Delivery"

November 18, 2025

5.0

Overall my experience is with Jira is very satisfactory. It is easy to use and easy to learn the navigational skills with the software. It is one of a few best of class applications used by Agile development professionals and product delivery teams.

Pros

Jira is a great product for creating, tracking, and moving product development activities from ideation to production. Jira supports Agile frameworks such as Kanban and Scrum. Its strength is on allowing dispersed teams to collaborate on requirements, development, testing, and release of software and product stories (items that define a specific need or function within a product or system). The functionality is easy to use and generally easy to configure and administer. Jira supports attachment of documents, diagrams, workflow elements, etc. that support the delivery of the required functionality. It is also generally easy to connect Jira to various other tools used for project management and for movement of code and configuration from development, to test, to production environments. Jira integrates well with Continuous Development/Continuous Delivery tools used within DevOps environments. Jira provides excellent value for the money to teams that need to work collaboratively, efficiently, and within large-scale development structures where maintaining Agile workflows are inherently important. Custom support for Jira is well suited to provide a higher level of support to administrators, regardless of the size of the enterprise. There is also widespread user experience and feedback available through various forums.

Cons

Although the reporting within Jira supports the general tracking of work status and development and release cycle metrics, it does not natively support many of the metrics/KPI reporting required for project oversight or executive information analysis. It is necessary to either download data in a raw format to analyze using a spreadsheet application, or to extract the data into a business intelligence or visual reporting application to format and present meaningful metrics and KPI information. However, this is also typically necessary for other competing software, so Jira is not uniquely disadvantaged in this respect.

### "Powerful Project Tracking Software"

November 30, 2025

5.0

Jira has been great for my team and we all enjoy using it. It has allowed us to deliver software for our client seamlessly, and gives them some transparency into our progress on the software we're creating.

Pros

Jira allowed us to easily collaborate on projects across development, design, and delivery. Jira allowed us to create tasks and manage the state of those tasks easily. Jira made it easy to create tasks, assign them to team members, and track their progress as work was done.

Cons

The major drawback from Jira is that it can be a little too powerful if you're looking for something simple. It can be a little overwhelming as well to see all of the available options.

### "Jira tracks your work accurately"

June 9, 2026

5.0

Every day when i log in I can see the current tasks, the to-do tasks, their statuses, comments,... Jira helps track my day to day and it's a huge part of my everyday flow.

Pros

Jira gives room for a lot of customization when working: swim lanes, filters, projects, workflows,... its nice to know that depending on the project you're in you can have it configured the way it fits better.

Cons

When you tag someone in a comment they don't receive an email or any kid of nudge, so they actually might miss the tag. At least, if they receive any type of notification this is not very intuitive, as I don't know where to look for this.

### "Outstanding Automation and Integrations to Maintain Team Alignment"

June 4, 2026

4.0

By offering a centralized solution for organizing, monitoring, and managing work across teams, Jira addresses the issue of unstructured task management. It helps me prioritize projects, divide them into sprints, and track my progress in real time, all of which increase accountability and visibility. This helps me since I don't have to rely on sporadic updates or manual monitoring to keep track of what has to be done, what is in process, and what is finished. Because everyone has a common understanding of the project's state and priorities, team collaboration is also facilitated.

Pros

Jira's ability to organize and monitor teamwork is what I find most appealing. It facilitates the straightforward and structured management of tasks, sprints, and backlogs. Because I can easily view status, priority, and progress in real time, I find issue tracking to be incredibly effective. Additionally, the workflows are adaptable to various team procedures, making them beneficial for both straightforward and intricate projects.

Cons

Jira can seem too complicated for straightforward project tracking, which is what I find objectionable. It frequently takes time to set everything up correctly, and the abundance of configuration options and workflow parameters can first seem confusing. Additionally, I find that navigating can occasionally feel cluttered or slow, particularly in larger projects with several boards, issues, and filters.

### "Powerful project tool, steep learning curve and a bit heavy"

April 8, 2026

4.0

Overall it’s a powerful tool that improved how we manage projects and tasks. Took a while to set up and learn, but once configured it reduced a lot of manual work and made collaboration clearer. Not perfect for very small teams, but for engineering and product teams it’s been a big help.

Pros

I like that Jira can be shaped to match our process. Backlogs, sprints, boards, and JQL make tracking work easy. The audit trail and history are great when you need to see who changed what. It really helps teams stay aligned.

Cons

The UI can feel clunky and overloaded. Setting up workflows and permissions is confusing and takes time. Performance slows down when you have huge projects or many apps. Also some useful things are only in paid tiers or via plugins.

Pros

\- Hervorragendes Projektmanagementtool - Riesiger Funktionsumfang - Umfangreiche Automationen - Sehr gut skalierbar - Bildet selbst komplexteste Vorgänge ab - Viele Erweiterungen und Integrationen verfügbar - Browserversion und mobile Apps sehr gut - Sehr gute Vernetzung mit Confluence - Kostenlos für kleine Teams

Cons

### "Jira keeps engineering work organized without getting in the way"

May 30, 2026

5.0

I've had a positive experience with Jira and use it every day as part of my development workflow. It helps keep projects organized, makes sprint planning straightforward, and gives good visibility into what everyone is working on.

Pros

JIRA does a great job of keeping work organized without getting in the way. We use it for spring planning, tracking tickets, production issues, and coordinating work across teams. I like how flexible the workflows are and how easy it is to link tickets to pull requests, documentation, and discussions.

Cons

The biggest downside is that, at times, Jira can feel overly complex. There are a lot of configuration options, and some screens can be overwhelming for new users. Large projects can also become noisy if teams don't stay disciplined about statuses and ticket hygiene.

### "Jira the powerhouse for your business"

June 8, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been highly positive but occasionally frustrating. It is an industry-standard powerhouse for a reason: when it comes to tracking large-scale projects and keeping cross-functional teams aligned, it gets the job done better than almost anything else. While its customer support can sometimes be slow to resolve highly specific configuration issues, the massive global community and extensive documentation usually make up for it. It might not be the sleekest or cheapest tool on the market, but for robust, dependable project management, it remains a vital asset to our daily workflow.

Pros

Jira excels at task management and team collaboration at scale. What I like most is its sheer customizability; you can build complex workflows that perfectly match how your specific engineering or product team operates. The platform acts as a highly reliable single source of truth for tracking software development lifecycles.

Cons

What I like least is its steep learning curve and lack of innate ease of use for newcomers. Out of the box, the user interface can feel cluttered and overwhelmingly complex, often requiring a dedicated administrator to set up and maintain properly.
