### "Jira Timesheeting and Tasking"

September 18, 2023

4.0

Overall Jira is a good tool for management and project teams to assign tasks and responsibility to team members. It can take quite a lot of encouragement for wider teams to embrace the tool.

Pros

Jira is a great tool for assigning teams and team members tasks and sub tasks and subsequently tracking progress and time spent. The Tempo time sheeting tool is easy to use and allows management to track project resource and time allocation to tasks. Jira is great for our development and projects teams bug tracking and fixing as well as wider IT task allocation.

Cons

Can take quite a while to get used to the interface as it is not overly user friendly. User permissions can be quite tricky to get right. Integration with other systems is limited.

### "Jira user for more than 3 years: My Review"

January 6, 2022

5.0

I love Jira as a bug tracking tool because it is efficient and can be integrated into email and conversation apps. I have no critical complaints about this.

Pros

1\. I've been using Jira as a major Atlassian product. I like this very much since it helps my team to collaborate better 2. Jira is integrated into other tools that I use like Confluence and Trello 3. Jira has many functionalities integrated into it based on your need. In my case, Zephyr is integrated to it and they work smoothly

Cons

1\. If you belong to a large team that also uses Jira, there is a tendency that Jira to experience some downtime and data traffic -- which can cause hassle. 2. Some items in the Jira marketplace can be very expensive -- but some are worth it, after all.

### "Could be a powerful tool but I wish it was more intuitive "

March 10, 2023

5.0

Jira allows us to keep track of progress on work projects where employees are based in different teams around the country and it fits in well with Agile principles, however, it is unpopular with staff and has no 'fun' elements whatsoever.

Pros

We moved to Jira after adopting Agile principles of project management and Jira allowed us to work within that framework which is its key selling point for us.

Cons

Prior to Jira we used Trello which sits within the Atlassian family and it has been very hard to convince staff to use Jira fully because by comparison to Trello it just doesn't feel very intuitive. We have had Jira in place since 2019 and I still received feedback that staff find it takes longer to work out how to log tasks and project updates on Jira than it does to actually do the tasks themselves.

### "A useful tool for managing projects and issues in real time"

January 22, 2023

5.0

Jira enables real-time issue tracking, allowing a team of engineers to work on issues autonomously while still collaborating on their work. It is resolving challenges in project management. It assists a development team in better project management by giving numerous tools to keep track of the project, accept inputs from other groups, establish a dashboard, and communicate with the team.

Pros

It is critical to have a tool to coordinate software development operations. It features a decent dashboard feature where available team items may be presented, as well as the ability to apply filters on a number of intake tickets available in the development team. In addition, developers can write comments about their progress when an issue ticket is forwarded to the next step in real time. This combination of key tasks is good for beginners, and the more complicated choices make Jira an enticing tool even in commercial settings.

Cons

Its query language is strong, but it needs good skills, which are uncommon among scrum managers. With so many modifying options, it might feel cluttered at times. The web interface might be improved. The usage of search criteria to detect bugs using JQL queries is not particularly user-friendly.

### "Jira is pretty neat"

December 15, 2023

4.0

Jira does exactly what I need it to do - which is to help me keep track of projects and tasks within those projects. It is reliable and easy to use, I love it.

Pros

The ability to integrate it with github has been particularly invaluable to me, Jira is my go-to organization tool.

Cons

Nothing major but it took me a little while to realize that issues moved to the "Done" column on a board automatically become hidden after some days. I found I had far fewer issues to review than I had anticipated, but I quickly realized what was going on.

### "JIRA- Project Management assistant for Sales Support PM team"

November 16, 2023

4.0

I feel like JIRA is a good system to work within. I feel like it is mostly efficient and will fit this platform works well for Project Management teams that are Agile based. More traditional project teams may have success but struggle to some degree concerning functionality.

Pros

I liked being able to organize several different projects into sprints and being able to assign them as well as see the progress of others. I also liked the visual arrangement of projects. I found it easy to track. Lastly, JIRA is still easily accessed via my mobile phone.

Cons

I do not like the data cap for uploaded or attached documents. When using JIRA to assist with uploading and upgrading documents. You have to find another means of working outside of the system to complete these actions.

### "Jira is needed, but not beloved"

February 5, 2021

5.0

We create tickets for our product/tech teams, make requests for social media posts, plan for a monthly sprint workload, and design solutions by commenting back and forth to come to a decision. It's an acceptable ticketing solution, a decent sprint planning companion, and a major learning curve for new users. It's notifications are my least favorite emails, and it's worse if you have notifications coming from other software like Slack.

Pros

We can track the requests needed from other teams. So much of our work is documented, so we can dig into the archives and discover what has happened in the past, and find clues for the future. We can track time against tasks, show progress, and comment as things progress. We can check in on the status of a project or request, and see how things are moving. The functionality is all there.

Cons

I dislike the search, which I find less than intuitive, though it has improved in the more recent cloud version. I dislike that many companies keep it behind a VPN, which makes it difficult to access. I dislike both how it's hard for me to use and how it's hard for others to use - I run into instances of people misunderstanding the software all the time, which creates mistakes and wasted time. I don't like using it as my to-do list, because it's an unfriendly user interface with which to start and end my day.

### "The Best Project Tracking Software"

September 16, 2021

5.0

I have good experience with Jira Software. I have used Jira in my previous organization almost for 2 years. It is used to track our work and raised tickets. It is an effective ticketing tool. We were able to manage, prioritize, and resolve client concerns effectively with this software.

Pros

Jira Software has an effective mobile app that allows us to work remotely. A lot of software functions can be performed on mobile. Jira has an extensive search feature that allows us to filter out the tickets based on categories, status, and team members. It won't take long to find an update of a certain task or ticket. We can easily customize the dashboard according to our needs. It easily integrates with other software tools.

Cons

The user interface is not very friendly and the setup might be a bit challenging.

### "Best Project Management Tool In market"

November 30, 2023

5.0

Overall I had a wonderful experinece with Jira, the customer support is also very helpful, and it's very cost effective.

Pros

Jira has the best features available for creating and managing task, keeping track of projects and also managing workloads.

Cons

There's nothing I don't like about Jira, maybe I could say overtime, it becomes very complex to track projects because of number of tickets and epics that gets created on regular basis.

### "Complete Project management Solution"

October 17, 2023

5.0

It's a great all in one agile tool. It's easy to use and very powerful. Jira has a lot of integrations.

Pros

I've been using Jira for over 12 years. The software has grown and improved over time. Jira remains a leading product in class.

Cons

The billing is a pain. Bitbucket is separated out and it's hard to manage the different accounts. The billing panel needs to be easier to use.

### "The defacto standard for Ticket Tracking and project management"

October 9, 2020

5.0

For usage in a relatively larger tech environment, JIRA has a been an indispensable part of my workflow. I use it every day to not only track my work but to communicate my progress to others (and vice versa) and to plan and resource our sprints. JIRA supports many features out of the box and offers plugins to expand its features. However, if I were in a smaller tech organization, the huge variety of features and customizability might be a bit overwhelming and I would look for simpler tools to get the job done. In larger engineering/product organizations, it is the de-facto standard for issue management and I highly recommend it.

Pros

\- Very easy Kanban board and ticket tracking - Linking tickets is very intuitive and useful - team collaboration through pointing, filtering - Full of features - Expandable with plugins

Cons

\- wish epic management could be done better. E.g., wish you could have epics of epics - wish it was more intuitive to search past tickets, however reporting is available. - Sometimes performance seems slow - For people who don't need very complex task tracking, JIRA is a bit too bloated with features.

### "Using Jira Software and Service Desk"

February 24, 2020

5.0

We have been using Jira (and Confluence) for over 10 years. We currently have over 500 projects in Jira with a user base around 2000. We do agile web and app software development and run a support desk with kanban. Each team has their own projects with their own specific needs, from workflows, custom fields, permissions, and notifications. We do not use the cloud product, but a 3rd party, hosted, server version.

Pros

Extensibility. Jira really can be all things to all users. There are so many business workflow processes that we have implemented and all in Jira: advanced software development, workflows for processing contracts and invoices, and support work with incidents and service requests with approvals. Lastly, with the large dev community and a large pool of app add-ons, we are confident we could extend Jira to be what we need it to be.

Cons

If you don't understand the principles of Agile software development, there will be parts of using Jira that will be foreign to you and will likely go unused. There is a steep learning curve on the administration-side. With so many functions and features, it can be difficult to know all of your options. The "schemes" that power the project administration can also make it difficult to troubleshoot your setup.

Reason for choosing Jira

Jira is created for the purpose we needed, whereas Sharepoint was being used because we were already paying for it. Reporting was lacking in Sharepoint and everytime we wanted to make a small change, we would have to use developer time.

### "Jira review"

July 27, 2022

It was very good. As it made time tracking , issue tracking & people management very simpler.

Pros

We can keep track of all the task from single platform. Easy for managers to track the progress of task assigned to teammates. Based on time tracking we can decide accordingly the delivery of products & features.

Cons

The least i liked about it was not able to fetch data from any cli . UI was still very interactive & useful

### "Great tool to improve your workflow and project organization"

May 22, 2019

5.0

JIRA has honestly made my project management life easier. I can keep track of everything and since everything is so well organized, I can either look into the future weeks and see or organize how my work load will be and in case I don't recall how an issue was solved or who fixed such issue, I can easily travel back and look at the old tickets and archived content.

Pros

I like JIRA thanks to the versatility it offers. The type of boards and features whether it's for AGILE or SCRUM project development or for it's tickets organization and how easily I can assign tasks to myself or other coworkers. Also I like their support desk system since with the portal I created, My customers can report issues through the system, I'll get a notification and get on it as soon as I can, or it'll be created as a ticket/issue and I'll get to it when I'm available. Also I can assign this task to someone else for them to take care of, or if it is related to another department.

Cons

I would say they have improved with the time, but one of the minor things I disliked about JIRA is how slow it felt sometimes. Like if you have a project or board with a lot of issue/tickets, it's takes a lot of times to load, or performing actions on it can feel sluggish, not work or just bug itself. Another thing, that they have greatly improved with the recent re-designs, it's how hidden some features were under a menu (...) menu, when before there was a dedicated button for such important features (moving issues, closing etc). Now, they've changed it but I don't know why they made the change to begin with.

### "Excellent project tracking tool for teams"

November 19, 2021

5.0

Excellent software to use within medium and big organizations to keep track of all the tasks for all the teams. It is even better is you use agile methodology within your team but Kanban can suffice.

Pros

\- Can deploy within your organization - Create projects or teams with their own tasks or projects within a dashboard. - Backlog for activities or tasks that you can review later. - Kanban dashboard for visually view the current pending tasks being worked on or to be worked. - Filters to see tasks per group or per person within a dashboard. - Report for anything like to see how many tasks being worked currently, done, created or the time it takes them to be fixed. - Git and SVN linking for commits in order to link related commits to a ticket. - Link tasks to see the related tasks from other teams or simply another ticket withing the same team.

Cons

Not very useful to setup for very small organizations or for personal usage. Better use a online tool for that.

### "Not the best for marketing teams "

July 18, 2023

2.0

Not very suiting to my team's needs.

Pros

Jira's functions are okay in terms of task and time management, but no one from our team likes its user experience. Only logging and tracking work is easy.

Cons

The interface is so old-generation and there are a lot of terms, menus, etc making it very difficult to navigate your way through. Its reports always have to be manually adjusted, and it's definitely not the best for marketing teams, since there aren't many designated spaces to add, edit or comment on visuals, campaigns etc. Might be more suitable for crowded non-creative teams.

### "Great overall Porject tracking and management software."

July 24, 2021

4.0

Overall the experience is good. We use it for our sprints and it works well. The tracking works well as expected and there are lots of features to organize work, view progress and integrate with their other products like Bitbucket and Confluence.

Pros

I enjoy the clean interface and fairly easy to use as a developer looking at a sprint and picking tasks to work on or logging bugs. Works nicely to see how much work there is, time estimated for the work and prioritization. The iPad app is super nice as well with its simplicity, ease of use and smooth experience. The software is great for logging stories and assigning tasks, planning before a sprint and assigning work to different individuals.

Cons

Sometimes it feels slightly clunky on the browser. Moist times its good but it feels slow at times. A Windows app would be nice to have as there is currently nothing available but there is one for MacOS and iPadOS.

### "Jira has been our new way to go for managing projects. "

October 16, 2023

5.0

During our research projects, Jira helps us to organize, plan and manage our work. It offers us a shared workspace which makes it easy for us to collaborate on the project even when we are working from different parts of the country.

Pros

I genuinely love everything about Jira from its simplicity to its reliability. Jira allows us to come together, share ideas and updates and collaborate during our research and analytics work and this promote teamwork and better results. Jira dashboards are the best at keeping track and monitoring the project progress. Plus we get very insightful reports which helps us understand how much work we have done and the much remaining.

Cons

Nothing for sure. Perfection can be rare but honestly, Jira has been perfect for me and my teammates.

### "Great and Essential Management Tool"

September 19, 2021

4.0

I used to write several reports with JIRA which are used to display project statistics throughout the project lifecycle. I also used Jira for processing software development tickets as well as writing reviews and comments . And that gives incredible visibility to the entire team members .

Pros

It is first of all the user interface that I really appreciate (also for Confluence, Bitbucket ..), I find it very friendly and understandable to everyone . Secondly , I think that Jira is one of the best ways to organize my issues into tasks and sub-tasks with clear visibility of workflows . This is the most important thing for me as a simple user .

Cons

As a developer, I would like to highlight one thing regarding the watcher option that the user could enable and disable on a Jira ticket. It happens that someone forgets this activation and miss maybe crucial informations of updates added by someone else on the ticket . I Think that Atlassian should promote the use of the Jira notification system and put it on the front line . Additionally, Jira's support team does not respond quickly
