Student Computer Networking Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Very good image and PDF scanner to scan a few documents or ID cards" October 25, 2022 5.0 The Microsoft lens is a good tool for scanning images and documents. But managing a large number of scanned documents is difficult. Pros The quality of the scanned images is very good. The app can show the area to crop while taking the photo. This is a unique feature most similar apps lack. They show the crop area only after capturing the photo but not during capturing. Showing the crop area during capturing gives an idea regarding the final output image. Auto-detection of the crop area is also better than many other apps. Further, the app is advertisement free. Cons The app lacks any folder to organise the scanned images. Also, there is no option just to select a few images and export them as a PDF. The export PDF option is only available just after scanning. Overall, I didn't like the organisation of managing the scanned files. Scanning a large number of pages and probably multiple of them is difficult. Switched from [CamScanner](https://www.capterra.com/p/210426/CamScanner/) CamScanner is no more available in PlayStore for Indian customers. It has been very useful and easy to use which are the things I look for in a system. Pros I like the document management the most. It is very easy to use and easy for organizing. The text recognition and image conversion are great tools! Cons I do not enjoy the customer service. Multi-Tasking Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "The PDF scanner for Microsoft users" July 22, 2021 3.0 The application itself can be found in mobile stores, I would recommend using other types of scanners, as this one is a bit slow and can heat up the device a lot, but if it is for something very fast like scanning 1 or 2 documents, this one can get you out of trouble and more if you are a Microsoft user. Pros The biggest advantages we have in this document scanner, is that it is designed mainly for users who have the Office service, as it has direct connections to their applications, because when scanning your document with the camera on your phone, you can convert it to PDF or simply pass it to a Word document, PowerPoint or other Microsoft product, you can even digitize it or also in the case of students, scan the class blackboard and pass it as a document to save it to your OneDrive. Similarly, you can choose a document or image from your phone's camera roll and then share it or convert it to a Microsoft product. Cons When opening the application, I find it a bit slow, or it can even crash and restart itself. When scanning the document, it does not manage to finish scanning the document well and some parts are left on the top and bottom edges. Without loosing the quality i am able to take images perfectly . Editing files is good option i used continuously. Since its very user friendly , takes me less time used to it. Pros Very easy to use Microsoft lens, user interface is good, takes less time to master it. Taking photos of paper documents and making PDF is very quick, especially you don't have scanner nearby. Besides you can edit the pdf or documents and send the files to other teammates. It can capture whiteboard also ,it reduces my workload , after meeting just taking the photos and send to all participants. Positioning the images is key here when capturing images, text identify result is pretty accurate . Cons Sometimes i feel like text are not perfectly captured, need to take again steadily to resolve the issue. Pros The application is fast to detect the text or area of interest to be scanned. It also provides appropriate options for editing the image. The options for saving and sharing in other formats are very clear. Something good too, is not having a watermark on PDF files. Cons Although the application does a good job detecting the document to be scanned, it cannot correctly adjust the image when it is taken from the side or at steep angles. For best results, you need to carefully position the camera in front of the document. In addition, the application should improve the immersive reader option, which still makes errors in character recognition.
