Then spend on hold with a phone call over 2.5 hour without a pick up. Now I just need to get a straight answer out of Trimble on when Classic is actually going away, if ever - I hear something different from every single Trimble individual I speak with. Would be nice to just get a straight answer at least one time. Pros Nothing seemed groundbreaking to us. You changed the program pretty drastically, but we're not seeing the improvements or streamlining of processes that we'd like to see go along with such extreme changes. Throw in the fact that, at great cost and time to the company, we'd have to completely rebuild ALL of our databases from scratch (databases we've been building and fine-tuning over decades), there really isn't much appeal in making the switch to Anywhere. Cons Can't use our existing databases. You've changed enough from Classic to Desktop on a fundamental level (requiring re-training of every single user on our end) without any major improvements to the functioning of the program itself - that's just a royal pain in our butts to make the switch, with very little to gain from that switch. Oh, and we'd have to completely rebuild all of our database from scratch. Pros It has some good applications that other's don't have. Cons This, in my opinion, is the most inscrutable program to use. If you never used an estimating program yet it will take six months to use all the features it hides to be an expert on it. Conest Intellibid with Sure Count is much more intuitive and can be mastered in half the time. Easy count is again inscrutable and takes so many more steps to use. Better off using a digital takeoff program and enter the counts and lengths into Accubid. Pros The database is good and the subcontractor import function for pricing updates is great. The fact the takeoff have to go between onscreen takeoff and setting up the estimate and assemblies for everything saves zero time. Even as you get comfortable with the product the time it takes to go back and forth and edit is not worth the hassle. I find the Classic version is still far better than anywhere. Also, they reformatted the software so the intuitive nature of items that was in classic is no longer existent. Overall experience with this product was very disappointing. If Accubid is truely customer based then give me a credit on this product so we can get classic and get some work done. Cons This is a long list... see the above mentioned Pros and I will get into the weeds on this. Reasons for choosing Trimble Accubid Anywhere The product is not as claimed so this was a mistake. Still need to wait for quotes from vendors. Pros It is awesome for taking off on plans, high lighting items so that you know you picked them up. Cons It does not have a good way to quantify demolition. It lacks accurate assemblies so that you can copy a take-off multiple times.
