### "Our team likes BuildOps"

March 19, 2026

Very good experience. Easy to create an invoice from a job or just a simple invoice for a cash sale. Tech support and training are second to none!

Pros

Easy to use and implement. Sync's well with QB's desktop. Good job and time management. Allows us to send invoices the day after the job is completed

Cons

Would be nice if it could have a bill reader to add costs to jobs Also it would be good if BuildOps would allow us to to do price adjustments by importing updated pricing instead of going through the data team

### "it is ok at best"

April 20, 2026

3.0

Pros

The Project Management module is not user-friendly. Completing a change order requires too many steps, which discourages us from utilizing this module. While it is cheaper than other operational software, it does offer good value for the money. However, the application of sales tax to invoices is inconsistent. Each month, we have to reconcile to determine which invoices were incorrectly charged sales tax despite being exempt. Additionally, the syncing between our operations and finance software is not consistently reliable. The Purchase Order workflow lacks the necessary automation for manual tasks. We need a bi-directional flow between SAGE and BuildOps. Furthermore, the payment processing system does not allow the business to choose how to handle the absorption of processing fees.

OVerall I would say a vast improvement from what we had. There are alot of improvements that can be made still.

Pros

when inputting data from the web, how quickly it updates across the whole data base and the app. Within seconds

Cons

The onboarding process was very rough. When entering assets from the app, it can take a long time to load. almost not worth doing while onsite for walk throughs. Not being able to quote PM contracts in the software

### "BuildOps is the best software I've worked with."

April 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with BuildOps has been positive. It has significantly improved our ability to manage service operations, track jobs, and streamline invoicing in one centralized system. While there is a learning curve and occasional system quirks, particularly around updates and syncing with QuickBooks Online, the efficiencies gained in visibility, organization, and billing workflows have made it a valuable tool for our business.

Pros

We’ve been using BuildOps as our primary platform for service management, invoicing, and operational tracking, and overall it has been a strong system for a commercial HVAC/R business like ours. Value for Money BuildOps delivers solid value, particularly for companies managing high volumes of service work and invoicing. The ability to centralize dispatching, job tracking, invoicing, and reporting in one platform reduces the need for multiple systems. That said, the cost may feel high for smaller teams or those not fully utilizing all modules. Learning Curve There is definitely a learning curve. The system is robust, and getting everything configured correctly—especially syncing workflows between operations and accounting—takes time. However, once users are trained (BuildOps Academy was helpful), the efficiency gains are noticeable. Ongoing support and training resources make a difference. Security BuildOps appears to follow standard security practices with role-based permissions and controlled access. From an administrative standpoint, it allows us to limit visibility and access appropriately across departments, which is important for financial and operational data integrity. Invoicing This is one of the stronger areas. Invoicing is streamlined from job completion through billing, and it integrates well with accounting systems like QuickBooks Online. The ability to generate, proof, and distribute invoices efficiently has significantly improved our billing workflow. Some edge cases (like tax inconsistencies or invoice status syncing) can require troubleshooting. Tracking Job tracking, technician activity, and service history are all well-documented within the system. It provides strong visibility into job progress, which helps both operations and accounting stay aligned. Reporting is useful, though sometimes requires manual validation when reconciling with accounting data. Payment Processing Payment tracking is effective, and integration with credit card and EFT processing helps streamline collections. However, reconciliation between BuildOps and accounting systems can occasionally require extra attention to ensure totals align perfectly. Project Management For service-based work, BuildOps performs well in managing jobs, scheduling, and workflows. It may be less robust for large-scale project management compared to dedicated construction/project software, but for service operations, it covers the essentials effectively. Overall BuildOps is a powerful, all-in-one platform best suited for mid-sized to large service companies that want to consolidate operations and improve visibility across departments. While there are occasional quirks and a learning curve upfront, the long-term efficiency and organization it brings to service and billing workflows make it a worthwhile investment.

Cons

One of the more challenging aspects is when system updates or changes are made during working hours. These can disrupt workflows, especially in accounting and invoicing where timing and consistency are critical. Additionally, some updates feel like they could benefit from more thorough beta testing before being released, as occasional issues or inconsistencies arise that require extra time to troubleshoot. Advance notice and more off-hours deployments would help minimize these disruptions.

Poor experience, we gave up Click Up for this ineffective program which requires constant verification of the data it exported.

Pros

There really isn’t much positive I can say about BuildOps. Low entry costs, for the program, but high end user support required.

Cons

Problems with sync errors or no sync errors. Items will sync with Quickbooks and BO thinks it hasn’t so it will export into QB multiple times. Conversely, it will think it’s interfaced and if had not exported to WB

### "Project Manager"

April 20, 2026

4.0

It's been good. I have seen improvements over the last 2 years that I have worked with it. I have seen one or two of my suggestions implemented.

Pros

Project forecasting is a big plus for us. I also like some of the customer reports we have created for us.

Cons

The tasks functionality needs work. It's basically unusable as it sits. We also do not have a good way to print or export an individual job's forecast. There are a number of pages I have stumbled on that create a table with no way to print or export the data. I would think this functionality would be easy to add. I also think that you should create a self-service web page that allows users to submit a support ticket rather than having to use your phone center. The last time I called, I got the impression that it has been relocated to south Asia?

The most intuitive software I have used to date. Allows data tracking well beyond what I have used in the past. The dispatch board is very nice and easy to track the jobs/techs.

Pros

Customer Support. I am not perfect and the Buildops crew has been kind and eager to help with every request that I have, often user error and not an issue with buildops.

Cons

Right now the Forms function is buggy and not working for complex forms, I have a case with the engineering department at Bops, now.

### "Overly complicated and costly"

April 14, 2026

3.0

We have been with Buildops for 2 years and there are many aspects of the software that are still cumbersome and overly complicated. I would like if they could make the software more customizable for the customer, simplify for customers that don't need all the details (smaller companies)

Pros

The ease of invoicing with the autocorrection of the invoice summary. It helps to explain in layman's terms that is easy to understanding for the AP department.

Cons

Cost-very expensive Overcomplication of service contracts and seeing pricing Lots of steps for PO's, entering the service contracts, and adding new job/visits Profitability is difficult to determine on contracts

Tech Support is amazing! Overall I'm a big fan of BuildOps.

Pros

I like that it gives us real time information how how well we quoted Service Agreements. I also really like how I can attach equipment manuals to the Service Agreements.

Cons

I don't like that I'm unable to make changes to the Asset Checklist after they have been attached to an Agreement. If we clone them and the old ones are still there it really adds a lot of scrolling to find the correct Checklist. Also, the checklist don't show up in alphabetical/ numerical order in the drop down section on Service Agreements.

### "BuildOps revolutionized our business"

July 8, 2024

5.0

Pros

BuildOps is extremely configurable - features can be turned on and off at the company level or the user level to obtain the optimal system and workflow both for the organization and each person within the organization. The support from BuildOps to help us set everything up initially and make changes as we need them has been phenomenal.

Cons

The cost of BuildOps was significantly higher than our previous field management software provider, and that initially turned us off, but it has turned out to be a terrific investment with an excellent ROI.

Pros

In the competitive world of commercial construction, efficiency and organization are not just desired but essential for success. As a project manager in a thriving commercial contracting firm, I've always sought solutions to streamline our field service operations, but finding a tool that met our complex and ever-evolving needs was a challenge. That is, until we discovered BuildOps. BuildOps has been nothing short of a revelation for our firm, transforming our field service management from a patchwork of disconnected systems to a unified, cloud-based powerhouse. The software's intuitive interface, comprehensive suite of features, and seamless integration with our existing workflows have empowered us to manage our projects, teams, and resources with unparalleled efficiency and effectiveness. One of the most significant benefits of BuildOps is its ability to centralize all project-related information into a single, easily accessible platform. From project bids and contracts to daily logs and change orders, everything is stored in one place, eliminating the need for scattered spreadsheets and endless email chains. This has not only saved us countless hours of searching for documents but has also ensured that everyone on the team is always working from the most up-to-date information. If you're looking for a way to elevate your commercial contracting business to new heights, BuildOps is the solution you've been searching for. Embrace the power of cloud-based technology and experience the transformative impact of BuildOps today!

### "BuildOps honest review"

August 16, 2024

4.0

Overall I am very happy with BuildOps. It is a very intuitive system to use and just "makes sense". The customer support has been absolutely phenomenal. I always get a real person on the phone when I call. When I email, I get a response back usually within a couple of hours. If there is an issue that requires a little research, they regularly email me with updates. I only have one gripe that has been consistent - there are times during the day, usually in the morning, where it can take several seconds for a page to completely load, sometimes requiring a refresh of the page. It is not a deal breaker, and I am not 100% sure I can pin it on BO and not my ISP, firewall, or other internal issue. It does get frustrating when I am on the phone with a customer or tech and have to wait for pages to load. I highly recommend BuildOps to a service/trade company whose business model would benefit from a job tracking program.

Pros

Easy software to navigate and use efficiently

Cons

Occasional slow page load times requiring refresh

### "BuildOps has delivered"

July 26, 2023

4.0

Overall we are pleased with BuildOps. We have a difficult accounting system and they worked with us to ensure the data transferred as smoothly as possible. We were able to "Go Live" within 60 days and have been in constant contact ever since. I haven't found any bug free software but a company that answers the phone and tries to help is rare and welcome.

Pros

Overall we are extremally happy with our choice of service and project management software. We are a system integrators that needed both and BuildOps has filled that need. Just a few of the features we love are the submittal packaging and dashboard in the project management side, the ease of invoicing service jobs, and the customizable data dashboards that can show any about your company from sales, profit, and even invoice turnaround time.

Cons

While not a complete con, the maintenance agreements seem to be geared towards monthly or quarterly onsite services. We use them for annual inspections and offsite monitoring agreements so they feel a bit cumbersome for our needs. Adding in a module tailored for the life safety industry would be helpful.

Our implementation Team (\[sensitive content hidden\]) were great and our long-term customer care representative \[sensitive content hidden\] is best-in-class. His assistance with helping us to create custom reporting and overall system guidance is unmatched. The entire BuildOps Team has been an advocate and listens to our needs.

Pros

We wanted a powerful Service and Construction software platform to run our $20M Aftermarket and Turnkey Services division and BuildOps fit our needs. We were excited to partner with an organization that listens to our needs and incorporates those needs into their platform. They are a true partner.

Cons

BuildOps does need to improve the Service Agreement module top to bottom. They are working on it and we are looking forward to the next iteration. Again, we have worked with the BuildOps Team to make the necessary improvements to the platform based on our experiences and they have listened. It's refreshing.

### "One Year Down"

March 28, 2024

5.0

Overall, we've been very happy with Build Ops. It helped us locate some holes in our processes and has made for better communication between our internal staff and also the customers.

Pros

Having used Build Ops going on my second year now, I will say that there are a lot of features I really like. It's very handy for the technicians to be able to get their own PO numbers most of all. It is also nice to have a history of all the work that has been done broken down by equipment. I also have enjoyed getting to use the AI feature to put more information on the invoices we send out. It saves me a ton of time in writing up the report.

Cons

I don't have any real issues with Build Ops that wouldn't exist with any similar service. Of course, it is frustrating when the server is down or when a common command suddenly goes buggy, but that would happen with any software we were using in this capacity.

Pros

Don’t fall for the sales pitch. After we paid, they started telling us that certain features weren’t possible. Pros

Easy to use for office staff and field staff. One place to communicate for all needs of services. Very easy to learn for everyone and BuildOps staff is very helpful. BuildOps is very accommodating to our business and concerns to operate smoothly. Efficiently is a major improvement with BuildOps.

Cons

I believe depending on the field of business, BuildOps will always need improvements to accommodate each business needs. All businesses to not operate the same, there will always be request to change or add features. Unfortunately, our type of business is always a request to add. I cannot say there is something least likely of the software, as all our request have been answered or is in progress to create it better.

### "Feedback from the Field"

April 7, 2023

4.0

Overall, our experience has been good with BuildOps. There will always be room for improvement, but it has been my experience that BuildOps is open to feedback and is constantly pursuing ways to do things differently and better, which is important to us.

Pros

First off, I would like to thank the BuildOps Team for developing a powerful platform for us to build our business upon. There have been great improvements over the past year, and I appreciate all of the time and effort the team has put into these continuous improvement efforts. The Dispatch Board is what I like most about BuildOps. It is the equivalent of my MS Outlook Calendar, as I am in it all day, every day, and it is what I use to prioritize what needs be done daily and weekly.

Cons

While there have been some good developments on the reporting side of BuildOps, it is imperative that the reporting functionality is improved. BuildOps is our primary platform, and where all of the information we need to understand our business and make strategic decision resides. Therefore, we need to have quick, easy to access, and most importantly accurate reports. Unfortunately, that isn't the case, yet.I would also like to see some improvements on the invoicing of Service Agreements. Ideally, the workflow for invoicing recurring billing would be the same as all other service invoicing. This would be very beneficial for us.Also, as a smaller company, our management team performs several different roles. As such, we are often out on-the-road, and with customers. So, it would be nice if BuildOps Mobile allowed our leaders to see visit summaries from the app, so we would have instant access to the information, to more efficiently and effectively keep our customers updated, without having to pull out our computers.
