### "Great Choice for our Business"

March 25, 2024

4.0

Overall, our experience has been positive. There are certainly things we learned along the way that we wish we did differently during implementation but overall we are happy with our purchase and feel we made the right decision for our business moving forward. The customer support team is incredible and very responsive when we have issues or questions. They are constantly making updates and improvements to their product based on the requests of their users which is what you want to see in a software that is the heart of your business. We see BuildOps as a partnership and are excited for our future with them.

Pros

We liked that BuildOps still has a week view on their dispatch board, not just a daily view. This is helpful when projecting out work and building a tech's schedule. The technician's mobile app clearly had a lot of time and research put into it and it shows...it is intuitive to use and clean. The one-click invoicing has been an incredible time saver for the billing team and was an immediate improvement we saw. Overall, we also were drawn to BuildOps' customer focused model and the attitudes of their team members. Every member of the BuildOps team was knowledgable about their product and ready and willing to answer any questions and take as many meetings as needed to make sure we were making the right decision and throughout the implementation process. The built in quoting module has made getting quotes out to customers and tracking outstanding quotes so much simpler.

Cons

The dispatch board while good still has a bit to go to be great, if you choose to release calls individually there is only one way to do that when there are so many other actions that we are given 2-3 ways to accomplish them. We also wish we could arrange the names on the dispatch board ourselves instead of being locked into alphabetically. Editing an already active service agreement is also kinda clunky and requires some repetitive data entry and could be improved.

Reason for choosing BuildOps

BuildOps was the only product to offer a week-view of the dispatch board and felt like the best fit for our company. Their corporate values closely align with our own and you could tell how much they focus on product support and development. We also chose BuildOps because they prioritize their updates based on user feedback.

### "Our team likes BuildOps"

March 19, 2026

Very good experience. Easy to create an invoice from a job or just a simple invoice for a cash sale. Tech support and training are second to none!

Pros

Easy to use and implement. Sync's well with QB's desktop. Good job and time management. Allows us to send invoices the day after the job is completed

Cons

Would be nice if it could have a bill reader to add costs to jobs Also it would be good if BuildOps would allow us to to do price adjustments by importing updated pricing instead of going through the data team

### "it is ok at best"

April 20, 2026

3.0

Pros

The Project Management module is not user-friendly. Completing a change order requires too many steps, which discourages us from utilizing this module. While it is cheaper than other operational software, it does offer good value for the money. However, the application of sales tax to invoices is inconsistent. Each month, we have to reconcile to determine which invoices were incorrectly charged sales tax despite being exempt. Additionally, the syncing between our operations and finance software is not consistently reliable. The Purchase Order workflow lacks the necessary automation for manual tasks. We need a bi-directional flow between SAGE and BuildOps. Furthermore, the payment processing system does not allow the business to choose how to handle the absorption of processing fees.

OVerall I would say a vast improvement from what we had. There are alot of improvements that can be made still.

Pros

when inputting data from the web, how quickly it updates across the whole data base and the app. Within seconds

Cons

The onboarding process was very rough. When entering assets from the app, it can take a long time to load. almost not worth doing while onsite for walk throughs. Not being able to quote PM contracts in the software

### "BuildOps is the best software I've worked with."

April 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with BuildOps has been positive. It has significantly improved our ability to manage service operations, track jobs, and streamline invoicing in one centralized system. While there is a learning curve and occasional system quirks, particularly around updates and syncing with QuickBooks Online, the efficiencies gained in visibility, organization, and billing workflows have made it a valuable tool for our business.

Pros

We’ve been using BuildOps as our primary platform for service management, invoicing, and operational tracking, and overall it has been a strong system for a commercial HVAC/R business like ours. Value for Money BuildOps delivers solid value, particularly for companies managing high volumes of service work and invoicing. The ability to centralize dispatching, job tracking, invoicing, and reporting in one platform reduces the need for multiple systems. That said, the cost may feel high for smaller teams or those not fully utilizing all modules. Learning Curve There is definitely a learning curve. The system is robust, and getting everything configured correctly—especially syncing workflows between operations and accounting—takes time. However, once users are trained (BuildOps Academy was helpful), the efficiency gains are noticeable. Ongoing support and training resources make a difference. Security BuildOps appears to follow standard security practices with role-based permissions and controlled access. From an administrative standpoint, it allows us to limit visibility and access appropriately across departments, which is important for financial and operational data integrity. Invoicing This is one of the stronger areas. Invoicing is streamlined from job completion through billing, and it integrates well with accounting systems like QuickBooks Online. The ability to generate, proof, and distribute invoices efficiently has significantly improved our billing workflow. Some edge cases (like tax inconsistencies or invoice status syncing) can require troubleshooting. Tracking Job tracking, technician activity, and service history are all well-documented within the system. It provides strong visibility into job progress, which helps both operations and accounting stay aligned. Reporting is useful, though sometimes requires manual validation when reconciling with accounting data. Payment Processing Payment tracking is effective, and integration with credit card and EFT processing helps streamline collections. However, reconciliation between BuildOps and accounting systems can occasionally require extra attention to ensure totals align perfectly. Project Management For service-based work, BuildOps performs well in managing jobs, scheduling, and workflows. It may be less robust for large-scale project management compared to dedicated construction/project software, but for service operations, it covers the essentials effectively. Overall BuildOps is a powerful, all-in-one platform best suited for mid-sized to large service companies that want to consolidate operations and improve visibility across departments. While there are occasional quirks and a learning curve upfront, the long-term efficiency and organization it brings to service and billing workflows make it a worthwhile investment.

Cons

One of the more challenging aspects is when system updates or changes are made during working hours. These can disrupt workflows, especially in accounting and invoicing where timing and consistency are critical. Additionally, some updates feel like they could benefit from more thorough beta testing before being released, as occasional issues or inconsistencies arise that require extra time to troubleshoot. Advance notice and more off-hours deployments would help minimize these disruptions.

Poor experience, we gave up Click Up for this ineffective program which requires constant verification of the data it exported.

Pros

There really isn’t much positive I can say about BuildOps. Low entry costs, for the program, but high end user support required.

Cons

Problems with sync errors or no sync errors. Items will sync with Quickbooks and BO thinks it hasn’t so it will export into QB multiple times. Conversely, it will think it’s interfaced and if had not exported to WB

### "Project Manager"

April 20, 2026

4.0

It's been good. I have seen improvements over the last 2 years that I have worked with it. I have seen one or two of my suggestions implemented.

Pros

Project forecasting is a big plus for us. I also like some of the customer reports we have created for us.

Cons

The tasks functionality needs work. It's basically unusable as it sits. We also do not have a good way to print or export an individual job's forecast. There are a number of pages I have stumbled on that create a table with no way to print or export the data. I would think this functionality would be easy to add. I also think that you should create a self-service web page that allows users to submit a support ticket rather than having to use your phone center. The last time I called, I got the impression that it has been relocated to south Asia?

The most intuitive software I have used to date. Allows data tracking well beyond what I have used in the past. The dispatch board is very nice and easy to track the jobs/techs.

Pros

Customer Support. I am not perfect and the Buildops crew has been kind and eager to help with every request that I have, often user error and not an issue with buildops.

Cons

Right now the Forms function is buggy and not working for complex forms, I have a case with the engineering department at Bops, now.

### "Overly complicated and costly"

April 14, 2026

3.0

We have been with Buildops for 2 years and there are many aspects of the software that are still cumbersome and overly complicated. I would like if they could make the software more customizable for the customer, simplify for customers that don't need all the details (smaller companies)

Pros

The ease of invoicing with the autocorrection of the invoice summary. It helps to explain in layman's terms that is easy to understanding for the AP department.

Cons

Cost-very expensive Overcomplication of service contracts and seeing pricing Lots of steps for PO's, entering the service contracts, and adding new job/visits Profitability is difficult to determine on contracts

### "Sync Issues Make this Program Impossible to Run a Company"

May 31, 2025

1.0

From a scale of 1-10 I'd say we're sitting at about a 2.5. The sales team makes a lot promises that the progrm has yet to deliver. We had a 3 month roll out until we went live. Would would think BuildOps would work flawlessly after a 30 month rollout.

Pros

I like the Dispatch Board and how easy it is to move around scheduled jobs. The other nice feture is how easy it is to receive payments.

Cons

The program CANNOT sync successfully with QuickBooks Desktop as promised. Support is quick to send out an email that they are looking into the issue but slow to solve the issue.

Changing operating systems is never easy. However, when you pick the right partner, even during some implementation struggles, we worked together as a team and had a great experience. Just solid people to wortk with.

Pros

We were one of the first client to partner with Build Ops. Their employees and support team have become part of our family. We are true partners. Having a very transparent relationship allows us to push each other to become better every day.

Cons

### "Great product that has completely digitized our office and streamlined our business"

December 20, 2023

5.0

Very positive. Especially the customer service! Any issue I have is responded to immediately and I am communicated too during the entire process so I know the BuildOps team is working diligently to fix it.

Pros

Filters. I love being able to narrow my searches until I am looking at just what I want. For example, My bosses wanted to see if there were any jobs that got approved but where never assigned to a job or otherwise acted on. The idea being maybe a customer said "yes please do this work" and it just fell through the cracks. With 10 different filters I was able to narrow down all the quotes we have in our system to just a handful that met the requirements and from there it was easy to find out the story behind each one and whether it needed to be followed up on or cancelled. Big time saver and made me look like a genius.

Cons

As a dispatcher, from the dispatch board I should be able to manually manipulate the job boxes even after the tech starts the job. The way I think the logic should work is this: Tech has their day populated by the dispatcher with 3 jobs A B C. Maybe he gets to all three or maybe he only gets to the first two or maybe job D comes in as an emergency and takes priority over jobs B and C. If I initially booked job A as a four hour job but he did it in three hours I want to be able to make that jobs box three hours on my dispatch board. It looks clunky and doesn't tell you good information at a glance if the job box size stays to what you originally dispatched it as. With plumbing 9 out of 10 jobs we have NO idea how long the tech will take. He might have an all day job that he gets dispatched too and it turns out one of the tenants that needs to provide acccess for a leak investigation up and forgot we were coming and went to work. So now this job is cancelled and needs to be rescheduled and instead of being an all day job the tech was only traveling/working form like 8-9:45am... I should be able to snap the job box back to 9:45am when right now it stays stuck at 4pm. When I used to dispatch, there was the time the technician recorded, the time I as the dispatcher recorded, and upon reviewing those two times the boss then bills the customer. Usually they are in sync but every so often there could be a disparity in which case maybe the boss needs to ask why the tech put 2 hours and the dispatcher says its an hour and a half. I have strong feelings as a dispatcher that at the end of the day I want my board to look exactly like how I think it should be with each job box fit into the time that I think it should be. 90% of the time it will match closely with what my tech put as well. And that other 10% well then we can see, maybe they forgot to start working at the right time or maybe they misread the clock ect...

Job change. I prefer BuildOps to service titan. I felt like Service Titan tried to automate too much and got me in trouble because I would tentatively put a job on a tech because that is plan 1 of 3 and next thing you know that person is getting a text or email saying we are on the way. Its like NO I haven't confirmed that yet, I was just trying to lay out the jobs! \[sensitive content hidden\] was terrible from day 1 and I prefer not to think about it ever.

### "BuildOps offers great features to help managet Techs and projects"

July 17, 2023

5.0

Overall, BuildOps seems very adaptable to our needs. Tech Support is readily available to assist with issues that mostly turn out to be user error. BuildOps allows us to make suggestions to their Development Team. These suggestions can make what we consider improvements or new features to the system to allow us to operate the software more efficiently.

Pros

BuildOps allows us to see the status of the Field Techs live and at a glance. We can better manage our staff as it is not difficult to see total hours worked in a week by individual. Quoting is very customizable and adaptive to our needs.

Cons

There are some issues that we, as new users of the system, need to work out and those can be challenging. But those issues are more due to our Company's learning curve than a problem with Build Ops

Overall a great system that has improved our company's recordkeeping accuracy and helped our business take on additional customers with ease. The issues we have are typically minor and can be worked around or ignored when necessary. The BuildOps team is always open to suggestions and does work to put them onto future software releases when enough of their customers are interested. BuildOps is the best commercial-focused software on the market.

Pros

BuildOps has been great for improving our workflows, recordkeeping, and reporting. Fairly easy for technicians to learn the mobile app and it has greatly improved communication between technicians and the office. It has also reduced our lag time between job completion and customer invoicing.

Cons

Some areas of functionality where users with full permissions cannot edit basic things can be frustrating. For example, the inability to delete a job that's been created in error and the only option available is to cancel the job and leave it in the system. Same inability to delete a visit, a PO, an invoice, or a quote. Most other issues are fairly minor, like sorting a list of Assets (i.e. RTUs on a property) will not sort them numerically or there being limits on the invoice layout options.

I could not be happier with my decision to enter a partnership with Buildops. They have exceeded our expectation with streamline design, integration with our previous software and Quickbooks and most of all the customer support is prompt and professional. I highly recommend Buildops because they are consistently innovating with the newest technology. Their Platform has allowed our company to streamline and become more efficient with our processes. They are always open for the client to give suggestions on how to make their product better. Their overall product is top-notch, but more over, they understand and care about their clients needs!

Pros

User friendly modules, especially the dispatching and the mobile app for Techs. The job/service module is well structured with the ability to have everything at your fingertips without having close out or go into a different module.

Cons

Cons

### "BuildOps Inputter"

April 20, 2026

4.0

Overall, I have been impressed with the capabilities and tracking of both the technicians work and how easy it is to locate a certain asset.

Pros

It's a great tool to share with prospective customers on how easy it is for the technicians to have information on each of the assets.

Cons

BuildOps, could be a little more user friendly when inputting assets into the program, there is too much going back and forth and nothing that gives you an opportunity to copy.

### "Project Manager"

February 4, 2025

1.0

The software’s capabilities were misrepresented, and the implementation timeline was severely underestimated. The company failed to meet any deadlines, resulting in wasted time and financial loss. Now, they are completely unresponsive. Save yourself the frustration—don’t waste your time or money.

Pros

Don’t fall for the sales pitch. After we paid, they started telling us that certain features weren’t possible. When we pointed out that these capabilities were promised during the sales presentation, their response was simply, 'I’ve had multiple people say that to me.' Extremely disappointing and misleading.

Cons

There are no pros. The customer service and technical support are nonexistent.

### "In my opinion..."

February 22, 2024

5.0

Pros

I love how responsive they are to assisting us with anything we throw at them. They are always willing to provide additional support and training to new team members or team members who have forgotten how to do things (i.e. myself all the time). They are very communicative about system servicing, updates, and anything else that could impact utilization or destructions so you can plan according.

Cons

I don't have much to say here other than I wish our company utilized the system more so I wouldn't have to work with multiple systems.

### "Ease of usage and very responsive support team."

November 28, 2023

5.0

I've been using BuildOps mainly to consolidate our field reports and it was easy to do. The step by step guides are easy to follow. You can easily get a hang f working around the system itself. There are also channels where you can get information you need like their support centers, email updates and the communities.

Pros

It is very easy to use, straightforward and there almost 0 lag when it comes to task processing. Also I like their support center - the techs are very responsive and helpful.

Cons

Maybe the issues reported from Mobile App users. Have not experienced it yet but with my experience I can't think of any cons at the moment.
