### "Loved TeamViewer, then lost the free version - had to switch away"

Loved TeamViewer for a long time, then in an instant, TeamViewer became drastically too expensive to make any sense to us. I miss it, but after the investment and configuration, VPN and RDP have replaced it with style and grace.

Pros

Easy to use, reliable, straight forward. When there was a free version, us power users had paid accounts for day-to-day use and our peripheral users had free accounts. it was a balanced experience where our costs were balanced with usefulness of the software.

Cons

When the free version went away, it would have been too expensive to convert all users to paid accounts. Especially considering that 75% of our users used TeamViewer less than once a week for less than an hour per session. For those of us who were power users, we had paid accounts and used TeamViewer extensively, though when the free version went away, it made sense to change the whole company away. We made the capital investment in hardware to bring our network to a point where a combination of VPN and RDP was far more cost effective than paid accounts for TeamViewer across our company.

At that time, the balance of simplicity and cost (considering that infrequent users could take advantage of the free accounts)

### "My Go To Remote Access Software"

Pros

I love the functionality and features that TeamViewer offers. I have installed it on different family member's computers so I can remote in and offer them assistance whenever necessary. I can see when their computer is on or off. I can log in when they aren't using it and perform maintenance when necessary. I also love being able to access my home computers, home servers, and laptop wherever I am it. I can even gain access using my cell phone for those "emergency situations". Cell phone use is not great, but can get you by in a pinch when someone needs help on something simple. I love the feature set available when you are logged in. Passing key combinations to the remote computer, changing screen resolution, chat, and lots of other items are amazing to have. I like that I can simply disconnect and know that the remote computer will get locked automatically.

Cons

I don't like that I can't remote into a computer behind the scenes. If I am at work and I remote into my home computer, anyone sitting at my desk will see what I am doing. There is no way to hide my actions or work behind a locked screen. I really want the ability to do that when the case calls for it. The software is not easy to setup nor is it intuitive. Make one wrong move and you could end up paying for something you don't really want. The UI is not that great, but once you have it figured out, it's pretty easy to control.

### "The Big Hitter of Remote Connection Software"

TeamViewer has been incredibly easy to use and has enabled the ICT department to provide a high level of support when responding to support queries. It has led to increased productivity as technicians no longer have to leave their desks for every support ticket and has cut down on response times helping us meet SLAs.

Pros

The TeamViewer application is very easy to install, with a host app being installed on client devices and the full application being installed on technician devices. Multiple devices can be saved for re-connection rather than typing in remote IDs several times. Once remotely connected, the screen can be locked to prevent remote users from interfering with a technician's actions. The screen can also be 'blanked' to the remote user if the technician needs to perform confidential actions (accessing hidden software shares, etc.). Files can be shared between connections, and there are voice/text capabilities to communicate with remote users.

Cons

There have been security concerns in the past year or so that have shaken confidence in the software, however TeamViewer have implemented several fixes to improve security and prevent malicious use (steps such as increasing remote ID length and patching software security holes) to remedy the situation. The pricing is not perhaps as competitive as we would have liked.

The ease of deployment, ease of use and consistent performance of the software is second to none. We have tried many alternative products over the years and none come close to Teamviewer

Cons

More flexibility on pricing might be helpful in certain cases but its not a showstopper

What I like the most is the software itself. Before, there was nothing that would save your life and be able to work on an important thing that you could only access from just one device. Today no matter where you are or what device you work through, you can solve problems faster and do better teamwork

What I like the least is the difficulty that permits and price can sometimes cause, I consider it expensive.

All in all I find TeamViewer to be an awesome tool. It is best for teams that are not in under the same roof. I have been pleasantly using TeamViewer for the past few years and I think it would be amazing if there was a way to speed up the file transfers.

Pros

I found the remote access very efficient as our company is based in different locations and we are always on the move. I also appreciate the remote control especially when I am getting assistance from our IT guys as it allows me to leave everything in their hands as if they are right there on my desktop. The simplicity of TeamViewer makes easy for anyone and everyone to use regardless of their department or duties.

Cons

The file transferring could be faster. I think this is the only thing that could be improved because it seems like it is a bit slow regardless of the size of the file being transferred. The versions also should be either upgraded automatically or we should be able to still connect even if we have different versions.

Keyboard shortcuts are not working unless you enable them in the setting.

I have users all around the world, and I provide a variety of services ranging from basic IT assistance to cloud, Exchange, VoIP, security cameras, system administration and other solutions, all of which I can access through this app (from users side and also access servers). One of the most important tools an IT department should have is remote access.

Pros

I enjoy how simple it is for the end user to install the software and provide the remote ID and password. It's easy to guide them through the installation. It also is compatible with a variety of devices and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac). It's quick and secure, and it comes with all of the tools you'll need to provide exceptional remote help. I prefer it when something needs to be done quickly.

Cons

  What I don't like is that if you try to remote into a computer with a different version of Teamviewer, it won't function, thus identical versions are required, and you lose time taking the user through the installation process. There are also connection drops from time to time, but not often.

Teamviewer is a tool that I frequently use for the ease of access to remote work desktop for doing simple jobs. It also help me to fix my friends computers when then can't understand the problem.

Pros

The ease of use of this product is a must. It's easy to install/launch and can help to gain access to a remote user desktop within the minute. It's secured and also include voice chat directly. It also offer possibility to run agent in background in order to access computer on a 24/7 basis.

Cons

Licensing cost can be pretty high for small business when you need to connect more users as the same time on differents computers.

Cons

Very smooth in terms of access control, screen-sharing and remote working.

Cons

The free version often drops off and doesn't reconnect sometimes. Also the time was quite limited as i recall. The software doesn't let connect with different versions as well when i last tried.

TeamViewer has provided me a great service as a remote desktop tool as it allowed me to control virtually every device that I have had. It is a perfect tool for private or business use, recommended to everyone!

Pros

I have been using TeamViewer for a long, long time now and I must say that it got better and better as the versions went higher. The glitches and bugs that were there in the beginning went away and with the mobile app it turned out to be one of the best remote desktop tools ever!

Cons

The only issue that I have occurred is the version of the software - you need to have the same version, or one version different on both devices in order to have them communicate properly. Otherwise, the TeamViewer will tell you that the host is not compatible. If you are far away, there is no way for you to update it.

It has been a great pleasure and joy to use this tool and to be introduced to it a long time ago, because over time it just got better and better, and yet more simple to use and operate. The mobile app is also amazing as it does not "overwork" the device and there is no lag, as long as your internet connection is of good quality.

Pros

I am not sure where to start with pros of TeamViewer - this tool is simply amazing. From the version 10 up, this has been the most useful tool that I have used in regards of remote desktop, troubleshooting and help, whether for my friends and family or for my business and work. It provides all of the tools necessary for you to be able to remotely control a device, access it regardless of where you are and be able to do everything as if you are there physically. Simple, reliable, fast and dependable.

Cons

There are no Cons to this piece of software, it is simply great. If we are talking about space for improvement, then a video call along with the remote access with the host would be the best way to go about it. Other than that, no down sides what so ever.

TeamViewer is dependable, quick, and free for occasional personal usage. It's also suitable for beginners. TeamViewer is reliable, speedy, and free for occasional personal use. It is also ideal for novices.

Cons

You can no longer install the basic app and then configure unattended access/account allocation. This is included in the latest version, which was released today. Current installs do not appear to auto-update to this dreadful new version, but if a user installs the downloadable installer over their current one, you may lose access.

Our experience with Teamviewer has been good, we have used the software for over a decade and it has really helped keep our service level high. It has become an indispensable tool for our support agents.

Pros

Quick and easy for customers and agents to use. deployment and installation is easy on agent workstations, and easy to deploy customer software on a website or support portal for customers to use.

Cons

Support can be very slow to respond to queries and often want to view logs before assisting with even easy queries. I don't like that they advertise their other services in a paid solution. I already paid, I don't want to see ads for their up-sells.

Super happy with Teamviewer as we use it for basic tasks, could be quite different if we needed it for an extensive remote connection with lots of typing involved. Will continue working with this software, no plans to change at the moment!

Pros

Before COVID, I didn't need to worry about connecting to our different computers remotely as I could go into each individual office and take care of things in-person. However, working from home changed everything. I had heard of Teamviewer and thought it was an old, outdated software that no one used anymore. I was certainly wrong. Their platform could use a bit of a facelift, but everything works and it's super simple to setup. Moreover, if you always connect to the same computers, you can make things even faster by allowing certain permissions. When connected, both parties have full access and there is little to no lag between the two systems.

Cons

The only problem I have had is sometimes the keyboard settings get messed up, especially regarding special characters and accents, and the numberpad too. If you're just clicking, no problem. If you need to connect to write a document, maybe find another solution.

### "Great Remote Desktop software "

Besides TeamViewer I also used standard remote desktops in Windows and Linux. I would say the Remote Desktop in Windows is still more convenient to use if you need an one-way connection to a single windows machine. Setting up the Linux Remote Desktop was so complicated that I was never able to make it do what I wanted. So I gave up and happily used TeamViewer instead. Thanks to the all COVID restrictions, I had to create a new user on my Linux machine and set up his own TeamViewer remote access to it through my TeamViewer connection. I am impressed with TeamViewer functionality that I was able to do it completely remotely. Finally, if you have some security restrictions in your web network and do not have access to standard Remote Desktop applications, TeamViewer is your choice. It works well through all the firewalls.

Pros

TeamViewer is a great multiplatform Remote Desktop software. You can easily install and set it up on either windows, Linux or iOS. It works well even with a small screen of iPhone. You can connect to any of your devices from everywhere by internet. Although I used it a lot, I have never had to read a manual and troubleshooting it, the software is very user-friendly and self-explanatory. The most amazing thing is that it is completely free for personal use!

Cons

The weak part of TeamViewer is controlling a cursor on mobile devices. It can be tricky even though there are two available options for it.

I have had a successful experience with TeamViewer because I can easily help clients, co-workers and attend online meetings.

Pros

I love this software because it is essential when providing support to clients through their computers, it is easy to access and use. It is also great because it can be recorded and played back at any time when meetings and conferences are held between several attendees.

Cons

Sometimes the limit of people in a meeting can be complicated when you want to do a large-scale conference. Another negative aspect is that without an internet connection it is impossible to establish a connection between the devices.

Teamviewer is an acceptable software, support so many operating system screen sizes and have alot of important functions. but still it's a very dangerous tool in terms of security.

Pros

Teamviewer is a very common remote access and support tool, it's widely used and known. although it's free but it comes with some annoying limitation. like strange messages that get triggered sometimes "commercial use suspected", I always recommend to my friends to avoid installing it on their devices and only use it as a standalone app when they need it then delete it. as it may be a very dangerous tool to have running on your computer all the time.

Cons

strange messages about commercial use detected, which end up causing session to disconnect few minutes after it connects. very annoying because once it does that you can't use the software unless you pay for it. even if you are not really using for any commercial use. very dangerous privacy breaching tool if you don't use it with caution, it may end up being used as a hacking tool.
