Pros It works well on low bandwidth. Fairly simple to use. It is very good for remote support. I'm in IT and use it daily and am rarely disappointed. Cons Occasionally it drops connections right after you first connect, but then you can just reconnect back again. Although I've experienced the same thing with competing products. It can be pricey outright, but I have it through a bundled product (Ninja) so that way it is a fantastic deal. Cons It is not capable of downloading or uploading of large size files from internet. Also it does not allow fast files transferring. The clients' sites are far most of the time, and sending an actual person would be cost-prohibitive. TeamViewer is the solution we use every time the client isn't against it. Pros When TeamViewer appeared on the scene, I was in awe: "so it doesn't need complicated settings in order to work?", "are you sure I don't need a VPN if I'm using it behind a corporate wall?", and the most amazing of all, "is it really multiplatform??" TeamViewer delivered on all these promises and more: it's fast, it's dead-easy to use even if the person on the other end is your grandmother, and it's free for non-commercial use. I personally lost track of other options -other than MS Remote Desktop, which is still needed for complicated network scenarios. Cons Many clients are reluctant to use it because it's been publicized as an unsecure app. I'm not really sure about this, but it's an obstacle nevertheless when trying to implement a remote access policy. Pros Compared to other remote viewers, it is so easy to point someone to the TeamViewer site and say "click the big green Download button". The install, especially the "Run only (one time use)" selection makes it so easy to support someone who is not as familiar with computers in general and remote access in general. The access toolbar is intuitive and the remote execution is fast. I currently use another remote access software which is paid for by one of my customers, but if that was not the case, I would certainly use TeamViewer for its affordable pricing model, especially as an independent contractor. Cons I don't really have any cons for TeamViewer, but if I had to search for one I might say that they do get a little pricey on their Team plans of more than 3 concurrent users. Pros TeamViewer is very simple to use. There is a bit of set up involved but otherwise it's quite easy to connect remotely and manage multiple devices on the go. Also has a free version which lets you do the most important things without having to worry about free trials and the like. Very generous! Cons The app does have an uninteresting, unintuitive interface that can easily confuse a beginner. The learning curve is slight, but at the very least the software is functional. The security features can be quite irritating at times and the options are often difficult to find and manage. Cons I don't like it because it is a heavyweight application that can be a security risk. I have seen too many instances where people use it to access someone else's computer and end up doing damage. I have also seen instances where support personnel install it on their customer's machine and then leave it there. I think Teamviewer should have a one time use feature. The user should have to register their computer to get a license code. If they want to continue using it, they have to pay for it.
