We use it as part of our outbound sales automation to scrape websites and extract practical signals like where traffic seems to come from and which languages a site is available in, and it has been consistently reliable. It removes a lot of the usual scraping headaches around proxies, blocks, and rendering, which means we can focus on using the data rather than fighting with the setup. It feels stable, well thought out, and easy to integrate, and it has scaled nicely as our usage has grown. It is not flashy, but it does exactly what it promises, which is honestly what you want from a scraping service. Pros It is easy to use and has the features we needed to build our tool. Best price on market. Very reliable and easy to integrate, it saves us time by handling blocks and rendering so we can focus on the data. Cons If I have to mention something it would be, that the documentation could be more detailed in some edge cases, and debugging failed requests sometimes requires a bit of trial and error. Pros good value. excellent support. i primarily use the scraping. i particularly like the extraction (css, xpath) feature, because with this extraction i dont have to do my own DOM. Cons there is a learning curve. and documentation is bulky takes a day to a week to read through. they should have provided an AI feature on documentation which could build query / fetch requests. also they do not provide examples in javascript, which is what i use. the examples are in python, cURL etc. Alternatives considered [ScrapingAnt](https://www.capterra.com/p/214735/ScrapingAnt/) Reason for choosing ScrapingBee i considered scrapingdog, but it is not on the list. scrapingbee looked ok. i did not have strong reasons then to choose, since i needed to migrate out and desperately needed a tool. It’s rare to find a tool that works this well and has a team that stands behind it. Pros ScrapingBee has been extremely reliable in production and is a core piece of our Bubble app. It allows us to consistently scrape client websites, pass that data into our AI assistant, and generate highly customized outputs at scale. The API is straightforward, the results are clean, and it handles real-world sites far better than most alternatives we tested. On top of that, their support team is excellent—fast responses, clear explanations, and they went above and beyond to help us. Cons Honestly very little. Pros ScrapingBee is the ultimate layer on top of which you can build any scraping app! I have used it for scraping hundreds of thousands of websites and deciding whether they are a potential customer or not. Before ScrapingBee, scraping used to be daunting to me but since using ScrapingBee I genuinely believe any public data on the internet is at my disposal! Cons I wouldn't say there is anything I dislike per se but maybe a small con is that new accounts are limited to just 1k credits. I had to create multiple new accounts to test their product before I made the (great) decision to pay for their monthly subscription. It would be good if they offerred like a $10 for 5k credits type of thing. Getting up and running literally took a few minutes. I had a script running in less than 15 minutes to scrape ~5000+ urls. I'm very happy with this! Pros It saved me a huge amount of headaches. So much better than using puppeteer or a similar process for web scraping. Very easy to implement. Cons There were some minor features that I was able to implement in puppeteer that I couldn't quite replicate with ScrapingBee, at least not yet. Dashboard provides valuable insights immediately and in real time. Cons Very, very minor point - but docs could be clearer about what the ScrapingBee requests look like to the origin server. Founder Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "An effective, easy to use web scraping proxy service" February 21, 2022 5.0 I had a scraping project that used many of the features in ScrapingBee. I wanted to scrape about 600k .json documents from a public API. I also wanted screenshots of those pages, and to extract various data from the corresponding HTML pages. ScrapingBee offered good options for all the cases. Finally, I wanted to get the Instagram follower counts for about 200k Instagram accounts. Instagram is super aggressive about blocking, but by using premium proxies, and resetting the session on each call, I was successful here too. That site I was scraping does block you after several thousand pages from a single IP, so I needed to use a proxy service. I never got blocked once I was using Scraping bee. Pros It has a well-documented, fairly easy-to-use API that covers a whole range of scraping situations. (I talk more about that below). You can choose Javascript rendering or not, residential or data-center proxies, screenshots, etc. I was never blocked once during my scraping. They are a small, responsive startup. I did run into a reproducible bug with their data extraction API, but they clearly made it a priority and had a new release fixing the problem the very next day. (Since they're in France, time zones worked out well and that was really first thing the next morning for me.) Cons It would have been nice to be able to get a screenshot and the data on the page at the same time. At present, you can only get one or the other, so I had to run it twice. Reason for choosing ScrapingBee I also wanted to be able to do screen captures, which Webscraping.ai didn't seem to be able to do. Zero problems thus far Pros I'm not even using the full features of ScrapingBee, but with their API Builder, Code Exporter, and Dashboarding, it was easy to get started.I see the features of ScrapingBee being huge for me in the near future, but I know that as I scale, they're pricing is competitive and their service is reliable. I haven't had this success rate, and this isn't my first webscraping vendor. I'm never going anywhere else. Cons I would love a bit more documentation in the errors. We wanted to be able to send our HTTP requests to a service that could handle all of the security issues related to web data extraction, and then return the raw results of the HTTP request. The service has to be virtually invisable to our processes. Scraping Bee is the perfect Black Box solution. In addition to the ease of implementation we needed a highly reliable service with great technical support. Our data collection processes run 24/7 and Scraping Bee is a great partner.
