We'd been scraping manually and running into all of the expected headaches. So we did a wide review of the market and after several evaluations, we went with ScrapingBee. Once we tried it, we were absolutely convinced we had the right one. So much better than the competition. Pros It was quick to set up. There is tons of support and the documentation is good. The product works as advertised and the extraction rules are totally awesome. I set them up and get valid JSON every time with name/value pairs that I am looking for. Awesome! This product unlocks and accelerates our options. Cons It could be faster. I get a round trip that is about 30 seconds. I haven't collected statistical data on this yet. It's something I'll get to after I've used this more. I don't suppose there would be such a thing as too fast, but I'd like to accelerate it some, if possible. Review Source CD Calum D. ScrapingBee allowed us to perform an integral task in a larger pipeline and deliver our solution to clients. Cons Not a lot, the only issue we've had is using up our quota in a short space of time but this was more down to teething errors than ScrapingBee itself. Also stupid simple API docs: an idiot like me was up and running in minutes. A++ would highly recommend. Cons The docs aren't as comprehensive as I'd like, but overall not much to complain about. Pros It was easy to start with, compared to other similar apps it overperformed them as well as beat most by price. Pros ScrapingBee is by far the best scraping api out there. Before deciding upon ScrapingBee I tried out 10+ other companies before eventually deciding (correctly!) to go with ScrapingBee. ScrapingBee is by far the best documented, easiest to use, and cheapest scraping api out there. Cons Occasionally I get blocked on queries(<2% of the time). Developer Information Technology and Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great for building custom database based on scrapers" September 7, 2023 5.0 I got this project from a client to build a real estate database from multiple portals.I've setup my web application structure and defined crawlers for the different portals and I had ScrapingBee in mind to try it out so this way I would focus on the product and avoid spending time on scraping infrastructure.I've found the tool very easy to set up, with great examples and documentation, and also found the pricing affordable.We'll see how everything scales but for now I'm very happy with the tool! Pros Easy use and solves the problem. Great Api, examples and docs. Cons Nothing important. Like all products probably there's room for improvement but had no issues for now. Works very very well for 99% of our needs. The extra 1% is notoriously difficult for web scraping anyways. Cons Some sites are tough to scrape, like social media sites. It seems the IPs ScrapingBee uses are already blacklisted sometimes on some sites. This isn't their fault at all, in fact, it's a common issue. So nothing to blame them for. Cons I don't think it can scrape PDFs which I encounter quite a bit with my scraping. I'm using it as a freelancer at accomplishing a data analytics project where I need to get some publicly available data on real estate. The API works great and the requests go smoothly. Pros What I liked the most with this service is it's ease of use. The documentation is great and clear. I'm really impressed also by the user interface of the website which is very intuitive and the dashboard is great at visualizing your use of API credits. Cons So far I have nothing to complain about. That said, pretty much all that matters is that it works. And it works really well. We tried a number of other things to keep our crawlers working but none works as well or as universally as scraping bee. The separation of premium vs regular proxies means we are able to optimize costs by only using regular proxies for sites that don't require premium ones. Cons None. Review Source Troy T.
