Founder & CEO Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great, customizable API" February 4, 2021 5.0 I encountered some problem initially integrating the API but the support person helped me immensely on chat giving me ideas to figure out the issue. Eventually it was a silly bug at my side, but appreciate the excellent support provided by \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. His help eventually gave me the confidence to move to paid plan. Pros Scrapingbee gives lot of customization available in free trial and lowest tiers. Many of the other APIs I explored do not even try advanced features in free trial which makes very difficult to try out API. Over and above that, the API works perfectly and gave me the best results among the other ones I tried. The sample code provided for Ruby is also very helpful. Cons Nothing as such. The API works great across a wide variety of URLs (not 100% but perhaps > 90%). Review Source MT Miguel T. He helped me debug my code and was very knowledgable. I'm also very glad for ScrapingBee's Proxy Mode. The automated rotating proxies is exactly what I needed for my use case. Downtime is also great. Didn´t experience any downtime yet. Pros The ability to scrap information on node / react based sites. Cons The price, but because our exchange rate is kind of high right now. Pros The best feature of ScrapingBee is the exhaustive documentation combined with countless tutorials on their blog. This makes using the software incredibly straightforward even for beginners at web scraping. Cons I have yet to run into a true con of the software - most competitors lack in documentation so much that ScrapingBee is a breath of fresh air. Review Source SD Sunil D. January 19, 2022 5.0 We're using ScrapingBee to collect data from socials to power parts of AudienceScout. Overall, I'm very happy with the performance and support of ScrapingBee, can definitely recommend it! Pros Scraping just works seamlessly and requests aren't getting blocked. The request builder on the dashboard is also handy. But most importantly there is great support, which has helped me with integration and whenever questions come up. ScrapingBee makes it easy to automatically pull down data from the sites that publish periodic data in a human-readable format. I really like the simple utility-driven workflow that ScrapingBee makes possible. Cons The onboarding process could be easier. It took me a little while to figure out what was possible and some of the advanced features like scriptability are a bit understated and left me wanting more info about what kind of scripting and automation is possible. Data is scraped effectively. Cons I rarely encountered an issue where the service was not responding. However, I believe I must have hit a situation where they were spinning up more cloud instances and after like a minute of wait time, the service was fully responding again. Pros Pretty easy to use API overall, as web scrapers go. One standout feature is that it can deal with more complex sites with dynamic content, which is something other scrapers can struggle with. Cons It can become costly when using across large amounts of sites / pages / data. Pricing is per call (to the API) which means planning and budgeting is necessary to estimate costs before launching into a project. This can cause delays in budget sign-off, for instance. Best of all their customer service is responsive and helpful. I tried a few other products and found the service slow or non-existant. Cons They recently removed the lowest pricing tier. Scraping Bee helped me get the job done quickly and easily. Excellent customer support too. Couldn't be happier! Pros Easy to use, great customer support, can just copy and paste code from the site! Cons Nothing!
