### "ThreatLocker, the dependable partner."

March 3, 2026

5.0

Pros

ThreatLocker is a major partner/vendor of ours, and for good reason; they are dependable and cutting-edge when it comes to their services.

Cons

Protection comes at a price, but the premium is worth the investment. They are very responsive and do regular updates.

### "Total Control and Peace of Mind – My Journey with ThreatLocker!"

November 12, 2025

4.0

I‍‌‍‍‌ really enjoyed working with ThreatLocker. It is a very effective tool to actually implement the concept of Zero Trust security — giving you full insight and control over what is happening in your environment. Once I got past the initial learning curve, it was really obvious to me how effectively it stops unauthorized applications and possible threats from getting started. The app's allowlisting and ringfencing functionalities have been a complete turnaround in how I deal with security. I don’t have to worry about new software or ransomware coming in, as everything that is running is what I have definitely ‍‌‍‍‌approved.

Pros

I‍‌‍‍‌ have been using ThreatLocker for several months, and it stands out as one of the most powerful cybersecurity tools in my toolkit. Its commitment to a Zero Trust model literally blew my mind. After the installation, I was amazed by how much control I actually had over the allowed applications and scripts on our systems. The whole thing was a total overhaul of how we do endpoint protection. \* Strong Zero Trust Protection: The “deny by default” strategy implemented by ThreatLocker gives absolute control over the operations of which applications and scripts, thus the likelihood of ransomware and malware attacks is drastically reduced. \* Powerful Application Allowlisting: The allowlisting capability is highly accurate and efficient — after the completion of the setup, it acts as a security layer that permits software to run only if they are pre-approved, thus providing unbeatable endpoint security. \* Ringfencing Technology: This technology helps the separation of the different functionalities of an application so that they cannot access data or other programs unless it is necessary, thus preventing lateral attacks and data leaks. \* Comprehensive Visibility: The control panel provides an accurate and up-to-the-minute picture of what each device is doing, thus facilitating monitoring and auditing ‍‌‍‍‌considerably.

Cons

I‍‌‍‍‌ encountered several issues with this platform. Initial Setup Complexity: The setup was quite overwhelming when I first started using ThreatLocker. While the platform offers a lot of control and customization, it still takes a considerable amount of time to understand and properly configure the policies. Learning Curve: The product implements a Zero Trust model; hence, it requires some technical background. A new admin or a small team without a dedicated IT staff might find it difficult initially. Frequent Policy Adjustments: Initially, I had to constantly adjust the settings to allow the legitimate applications, which was somewhat inconvenient until the system got familiar with our ‍‌‍‍‌environment.

### "Great Product"

June 17, 2026

5.0

Pros

Great product for protecting your environment and having a foothold into what is installed in your environment. Great and attentive customer support we can contact when needed. Easy to manage once you get the hang of it.

Cons

Could be a bit daunting at first because it requires a lot of manual work when setting up a new client at times. But after the first few it gets easier to manage.

### "Good to be safe. "

August 17, 2025

5.0

I’ve had to re ask if I could open a website before because I was unaware that I had to type in a reason. So my request was just automatically denied but never was told to me it was. I waited a long time to be able to finish my work.

Pros

I like that I my computer software is constantly and consistently being monitored. I can do my work while it does it’s in the back ground.

Cons

Sometimes they are overly cautious or overly sensitive. But I suppose they know more of what’s out there in the cyber world.

### "Reliable virus and malware protection."

June 1, 2026

5.0

Pros

We use the ThreatLocker as primary threat, virus and malware protection. It offers an enterprise grade security to ensure there is no data loss and prepare for BCP. The dashboard is easy to use and offers clear visibility of the venerability.

Cons

We sometimes experience false positive which takes time to investigate. Otherwise, everything else falls in plan.

### "Get on with it already"

December 8, 2025

5.0

It uses AI/ML based detection to identify advanced threats, so the really bad zero-day stuff is actually being identified prior to it causing damage. Our endpoints are running with healthy malware drag and we have fewer complaints from everyone in the watercooler. It's providing us a perfectly clear view into what our devices are doing 100% of the time, which is now million times easier than was before and we can instantly act on that data after doing a search instead of waiting an hour for it all to roll in.

Pros

Honestly, CrowdStrike Falcon really does work, which is a miracle. The agent is extremely lightweight, so you don’t even realize it is there, unlike the Trellix product we used in the past, which would completely bog down our systems. Thank God. Real time detection is the big draw here, it caught a suspicious PowerShell script running on an endpoint and we were able to see the full nasty timeline in real time. You have that one lightweight agent (which is a great thing) so you do not have a bunch of disjointed pieces to deal with and the fact that it is cloud based means your responses will be that much faster.

Cons

The management dashboard is a complete disaster, it is far too complex and I truly believe that new users will think they are reading a foreign language. How often do the marketplace apps for vendor integrations go out of date at exactly the moment you need them? I wasted an entire day trying to get an integration to work for a proof of concept because the app I was using was outdated, which is infuriating.

### "Surprisingly ThreatLocker has worked for us as well"

May 26, 2026

5.0

We also use it to check off items in our Cybersecurity Compliance Checklist. I do not have to find a 6 digit text code while eating my lunch at my desk like I used to. Good for the money we pay.

Pros

ThreatLocker pushes notifications to my Apple watch and I never expected that to even be possible with Enterprise Software generally being trash. The ability to see what devices are being used is ok I guess. I mostly use it for the VPN functionality. It is easy to use and customer support is good.

Cons

This takes way too long. The push notification will sometimes arrive late. If you don't have the mobile app installed, then the Microsoft RD Web connection is basically unsupported, Good Luck.

### "Robust Security with Detailed Control"

April 16, 2026

5.0

ThreatLocker has been effective for tightening security and managing application access across devices. It offers strong protection, good performance, and helpful support. While setup and policy tuning can take some effort, the overall experience is secure, stable, and dependable.

Pros

Strong security controls, reliable malware protection, and clear visibility over application access. Performance is solid, and deployment is straightforward once configured.

Cons

Initial setup can feel complex, and some policy adjustments require more time than expected. Occasional false positives may interrupt workflows.

### "Phenomenal Protection, but High Admin Overhead"

June 3, 2026

4.0

Excellent. It completely changes the endpoint security model from reactive to proactive. It takes some administrative overhead to manage the approvals, but the trade-off for true Zero Trust is absolutely worth it.

Pros

The application whitelisting and Ringfencing capabilities are exceptional. Instead of chasing malware after it executes, ThreatLocker simply blocks anything that isn't explicitly approved. Once the initial learning mode is complete and policies are set, it provides massive peace of mind. Customer support is also incredibly responsive when you need to unblock a legitimate process quickly.

Cons

The initial setup and "learning" phase requires a lot of attention. If you lock down an environment too quickly without mapping out all your necessary background applications and developer tools, you will end up blocking legitimate work.

### "Security environment using threatLocker."

November 10, 2025

It ensures zero-trust machine security and scales efficiently to prevent unwanted actions, though modifying the production environment is complex and prone to access challenges.

Pros

1\. Easily identify vulnerable applications and block them. 2. The deployment of this security software is very simple. 3. It also offers a mobile app, making it convenient to respond to alerts.

Cons

1\. Making changes in an existing running environment is quite challenging. 2. The product has been observed to perform very slowly.

### "Damn Good Product! "

November 6, 2024

5.0

Threatlocker has been a great addition to our security stack, and we recommend it to anyone reading this review. Rarely do we find a vendor who works with us to get the best out of their product more than Threatlocker. We are huge fans.

Pros

ThreatLocker's default-deny approach effectively locks down our environment by proactively protecting our endpoints. Every two weeks, our reps meet with us, offering insights and assistance that make them feel like an extension of our team. Due to ThreatLocker's protection, we don't require additional MDR or XDR solutions, making it an efficient and effective way to keep our organization secure.

Cons

It's true that ThreatLocker requires a bit of a learning curve to become proficient with it, however, it's certainly not an insurmountable hurdle and it's definitely worth taking the time to become familiar with the platform. Our TL reps are always available for any questions or assistance we need, and they always go the extra mile to ensure we understand the platform.

### "Zero Trust Security"

December 23, 2024

4.0

Pros

I love the zero trust model that they use, as well as the ease of deployment and deployment management. The storage management is also fairly robust.

Cons

There is an extremely steep learning curve for policy management, which maybe tricky for non savvy users. This can also introduce policy errors as a result of improper use.

### "ThreatLocker is the way to go!"

June 3, 2024

5.0

Overall, we have had a fantastic experience with ThreatLocker. The software is solid and their team is fantastic to work with. The cost of this tool and the time to set it up is worth it. This tool gives us a fantastic peace of mind in environments we have it deployed in.

Pros

I love the security it provides with very little hassle for the end user. When properly setup, it adds safe boundaries for your client's systems to run in without a big hit to performance.

Cons

ThreatLocker is a complex tool with a lot of different moving parts. It's not plug-and-play, set it and forget it style tool. Your time is required to set it up properly and manage it. There is a large time commitment required up front. HOWEVER, ThreatLocker doesn't just sell to you and then drop you in the mess and charge you for their help like other companies. They provide regular check-ins with their support team to ensure our environment is running optimally. Also they have 24-7 support always ready to help us with any question about the service or best practices. They provide a university platform to train your team to run the software. It's not a set it and forget it product... but if you put in the work, the payoff is huge!

### "Threatlocker - best endpoint security protection to date."

March 18, 2024

5.0

Our team enjoyed the onboarding process as discussion was very interactive and time effective. The process was organized to maximize knowledge transfer, minimize user disruption and maximize security profile.

Pros

The software is powerful but like all security tools questions surface that require rapid vendor clarification or direction and the Threatlocker's "Cyber Hero" support the solution is taken to much a higher level - most issues are reviewed and resolved by the Threatlocker support team while the questionable ones related to how our company wants to proceed are forwarded with the data needed for us to make quick security decisions. End result: a high security profile with minimal user frustration - very unusual these days.

Cons

Like all security packages you need to understand how the software works to get the proper results.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

Could not find a similar security production that had a better solution.

### "Excellent Security Solution with Exceptional Technical Support"

April 15, 2024

5.0

When implemented patiently and correctly, ThreatLocker can be seamlessly integrated into an MSP security stack without increasing support tickets or end-user dissatisfaction. ThreatLocker is a highly effective application allow-listing solution backed by exceptional technical support. ThreatLocker's features and responsive support make it a solution that we will continue to use to safeguard our customers from mayhem caused by supply chain attacks, user ignorance, or compromises of our tools used to manage our customers.

Pros

ThreatLocker is a comprehensive application allow-listing security solution that offers protection against cyber threats while providing a seamless user experience. My experience with ThreatLocker has been particularly positive, largely due to the outstanding technical support they offer. The software onboarding hero (\[sensitive content hidden\]) was knowledgeable and completely understood all aspects of the software

Cons

Adopting new technologies or software such as Threatlocker has a long learning curve. A Significant amount of time and effort is required by all to become proficient and master this cybersecurity tool. The extended learning period can pose challenges such as reduced productivity, frustration, and increased training costs.

### "Threatlocker Took our Business to the Next Level"

September 14, 2023

5.0

Many benefits to ThreatLocker. Elevation is very useful for admin rights to run software, app control for stopping browser extensions, storage to monitor file changes or block USB, etc

Pros

Complete control. As an MSP, Threatlocker has taken our security stack to the next level. Application control, Elevation, Storage control and now recently we are adding Networking and evironment hardening with Configuration manager to the stack. We needed a product to give us better central control than RMM products offer and Threatlocker has delivered and beyond for our company. The University and support are also excellent.

Cons

The learning curve and initial noise of implementing the system brings some additonal work and training challenges. Threatlocker is a philosophy your techs need to adopt and this can be a struggle to overcome.

### "A must have in your security toolkit"

February 26, 2024

For all the security layers we have, app control is the most important. No client we have with Threatlocker installed has had a single ransomware or malware event…you can’t get better than that.

Pros

It’s the best product out there for application whitelisting. It’s easy to use, it’s MSP friendly, has some of the best support I’ve ever experienced from a vendor.

Cons

Nyhing negative to say about the product or the vendor

It took us a few weeks to fully appreciate the extent of ThreatLocker's abilities and uses. Now we wonder how we managed without it.

Pros

ThreatLocker locks the workstations and servers' ability to install new or unapproved software and applications. Its straightforward interface allows users to request approval to install new applications. The protection is true for regular users as well as administrators.

Cons

### "ThreatLocker - Peace of Mind"

August 31, 2021

5.0

ThreatLocker provides added protection in case a system is breached. It will stop the unknown software, and provide ring-fencing to make sure good software doesn't act across the network in ways it should not. I could not be happier with ThreatLocker.

Pros

ThreatLocker does what it promises. It catalogs and manages your known software while blocking unknown software from running. It also assists with elevation and network ringfencing. Together, these provide a great level of protection for the environment in case you do get breached.

Cons

It is not a set and forget, it takes active management. The time taken is reasonable, it just needs to be factored in. I probably spend 2 hours/week on managing ThreatLocker across nearly 400 endpoints.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

Testimonials from other MSP's, along with the trial experience.

### "ThreatLocker: Industry Leading Endpoint Protection Platform"

October 24, 2023

Pros

ThreatLocker has been such an amazing partner to work with. Great customer support and fully loaded with many cutting edge security features. Being a provider and user of ThreatLocker has proven to be very beneficial in having the know-how efficiency when easily implementing and integrating these features into the daily flow of business. Allowlisting is by far the most frequently utilized feature our clients take advantage of daily. Creating policies at both a per user scale and org-wide scale has been very easy to use.

Cons

ThreatLocker is so cutting edge that there many features offered that have much more potential to be built out and improved upon, such as Elevation Control.
