### "Strong application control with a thoughtful setup process"

September 5, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with ThreatLocker has been positive. It provides a good level of control over applications and system activity, which gives me more confidence in the security of the environment. The initial configuration takes some time, particularly when fine-tuning policies and handling legitimate applications, but once everything is properly set up, management becomes much easier. Overall, I find it useful for maintaining tighter control without adding too much complexity to everyday security management.

Pros

What I like most about ThreatLocker is the control it gives over which applications and processes are allowed to run. It adds a strong layer of security without making the management side feel unnecessarily complicated. I also like being able to see and manage application activity centrally, which makes it easier to understand what is happening across the environment.

Cons

The main drawback is that the initial setup and policy configuration can take some time, especially when you’re getting used to how applications and permissions are managed. There can also be occasions where legitimate software needs additional attention before it works as expected. Once the policies are properly tuned, though, the day-to-day experience is much smoother.

### "Get on with it already"

December 8, 2025

5.0

It uses AI/ML based detection to identify advanced threats, so the really bad zero-day stuff is actually being identified prior to it causing damage. Our endpoints are running with healthy malware drag and we have fewer complaints from everyone in the watercooler. It's providing us a perfectly clear view into what our devices are doing 100% of the time, which is now million times easier than was before and we can instantly act on that data after doing a search instead of waiting an hour for it all to roll in.

Pros

Honestly, CrowdStrike Falcon really does work, which is a miracle. The agent is extremely lightweight, so you don’t even realize it is there, unlike the Trellix product we used in the past, which would completely bog down our systems. Thank God. Real time detection is the big draw here, it caught a suspicious PowerShell script running on an endpoint and we were able to see the full nasty timeline in real time. You have that one lightweight agent (which is a great thing) so you do not have a bunch of disjointed pieces to deal with and the fact that it is cloud based means your responses will be that much faster.

Cons

The management dashboard is a complete disaster, it is far too complex and I truly believe that new users will think they are reading a foreign language. How often do the marketplace apps for vendor integrations go out of date at exactly the moment you need them? I wasted an entire day trying to get an integration to work for a proof of concept because the app I was using was outdated, which is infuriating.

### "Good to be safe. "

August 17, 2025

5.0

I’ve had to re ask if I could open a website before because I was unaware that I had to type in a reason. So my request was just automatically denied but never was told to me it was. I waited a long time to be able to finish my work.

Pros

I like that I my computer software is constantly and consistently being monitored. I can do my work while it does it’s in the back ground.

Cons

Sometimes they are overly cautious or overly sensitive. But I suppose they know more of what’s out there in the cyber world.

### "Great Product"

June 17, 2026

5.0

Pros

Great product for protecting your environment and having a foothold into what is installed in your environment. Great and attentive customer support we can contact when needed. Easy to manage once you get the hang of it.

Cons

Could be a bit daunting at first because it requires a lot of manual work when setting up a new client at times. But after the first few it gets easier to manage.

### "ThreatLocker, the dependable partner."

March 3, 2026

5.0

Pros

ThreatLocker is a major partner/vendor of ours, and for good reason; they are dependable and cutting-edge when it comes to their services.

Cons

Protection comes at a price, but the premium is worth the investment. They are very responsive and do regular updates.

### "Reliable virus and malware protection."

June 1, 2026

5.0

Pros

We use the ThreatLocker as primary threat, virus and malware protection. It offers an enterprise grade security to ensure there is no data loss and prepare for BCP. The dashboard is easy to use and offers clear visibility of the venerability.

Cons

We sometimes experience false positive which takes time to investigate. Otherwise, everything else falls in plan.

### "Surprisingly ThreatLocker has worked for us as well"

May 26, 2026

5.0

We also use it to check off items in our Cybersecurity Compliance Checklist. I do not have to find a 6 digit text code while eating my lunch at my desk like I used to. Good for the money we pay.

Pros

ThreatLocker pushes notifications to my Apple watch and I never expected that to even be possible with Enterprise Software generally being trash. The ability to see what devices are being used is ok I guess. I mostly use it for the VPN functionality. It is easy to use and customer support is good.

Cons

This takes way too long. The push notification will sometimes arrive late. If you don't have the mobile app installed, then the Microsoft RD Web connection is basically unsupported, Good Luck.

### "Robust Security with Detailed Control"

April 16, 2026

ThreatLocker has been effective for tightening security and managing application access across devices. It offers strong protection, good performance, and helpful support. While setup and policy tuning can take some effort, the overall experience is secure, stable, and dependable.

Pros

Strong security controls, reliable malware protection, and clear visibility over application access. Performance is solid, and deployment is straightforward once configured.

Cons

Initial setup can feel complex, and some policy adjustments require more time than expected. Occasional false positives may interrupt workflows.

### "Phenomenal Protection, but High Admin Overhead"

June 3, 2026

4.0

Excellent. It completely changes the endpoint security model from reactive to proactive. It takes some administrative overhead to manage the approvals, but the trade-off for true Zero Trust is absolutely worth it.

Pros

The application whitelisting and Ringfencing capabilities are exceptional. Instead of chasing malware after it executes, ThreatLocker simply blocks anything that isn't explicitly approved. Once the initial learning mode is complete and policies are set, it provides massive peace of mind. Customer support is also incredibly responsive when you need to unblock a legitimate process quickly.

Cons

The initial setup and "learning" phase requires a lot of attention. If you lock down an environment too quickly without mapping out all your necessary background applications and developer tools, you will end up blocking legitimate work.

### "Security environment using threatLocker."

November 10, 2025

It ensures zero-trust machine security and scales efficiently to prevent unwanted actions, though modifying the production environment is complex and prone to access challenges.

Pros

1\. Easily identify vulnerable applications and block them. 2. The deployment of this security software is very simple. 3. It also offers a mobile app, making it convenient to respond to alerts.

Cons

1\. Making changes in an existing running environment is quite challenging. 2. The product has been observed to perform very slowly.

### "ThreatLocker is a great first line of defense"

December 23, 2024

5.0

Overall, this is a great and trusted first line of defense.

Pros

As a large corporation, it is imperative to have cybersecurity to keep us safe from cyber threats. ThreatLocker provides us safety as a first line of defense against ransomware and vulnerability attacks. The feature I like most about ThreatLocker is the allowlisting feature. If it is not on the "allow" list, it will block it.

Cons

It is not a complete threat detection software as it does not include E-mails or webcam threat detection

### "Gets the job done and keep our company safe."

October 13, 2024

4.0

Overall very good and does it job very reliable. No issues with installations or errors. Gets the job done and keep our company safe.

Pros

I liked it ThreatLocker provides strong security when you install applications while being easy to use. The application whitelisting feature is great because it lets our company control which programs can run on our, which helps us to reduce the risk of malware. ThreatLocker combines solid security with with a simple interface, making it a great tool for keeping our computers safe.

Cons

Sometimes program installation take multiple requests in order to install. Especially when they use Command Line or scripts (e.g. Xampp). You have to wait for approval everytime which can delay the process of using that software.

### "Threatlocker Zero Trust"

June 3, 2024

5.0

Overall Threatlocker has been excellent resource that greatly increases our security posture. Their support from implementation to troubleshooting has been knowledgeable and responsive.

Pros

Application whitelisting was fairly effortless for the vast majority of our implementation. Threatlocker was able to learn all of our applications automatically and can handle updates to these applications without our intervention. When custom rules are required the UI guides you through the process. The UI also does a good job of alerting administrators if you create any policies that are not secure or too broad in scope. Network control provides and easy interface to implement network micro segmentation. The audit tools make determining what needs to talk on each port between hosts simple. ThreatLocker Administrator Password System in configuration manager allowed us to retire our Microsoft Local Administrator Password Solution. Setup took less 5 minutes and involved no complicated GPO's or additional programs. Support is instant and knowledgeable. There is very little if any wait to talk to someone for help anytime of day via chat.

Cons

The Network control portion is prone to hiccups when using threatlocker specific objects and switching networks.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

Ease of setup, central management, implementation assistance.

### "Solid Product Overall"

May 3, 2024

5.0

It's been amazing. Mert Kurt and Brett Oresky have been amazing. I am impressed at their knowledge level and the way they work together. Having them as part of the team has been a real boon for learning how things work and being able to get things setup the way they need to be.

Pros

I'm a big fan of the VM to test install certain products to see what they install and change. I am also a big fan of the ringfencing feature.

Cons

Honestly, I haven't come across anything I dislike about the platform. I have found it easy to use and navigate.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

Honestly, The ringfencing and was of use of the product was a big selling point. The ringfencing was important to help stop threats we have been seeing.

### "System Source - ThreatLocker Review"

September 19, 2024

5.0

There was the usual learning curve to climb at the start, but the Cyber Hero's were there for us when we needed them. The continual product/service enhancement has given us confidence that we have made the right choice for Application Control.

Pros

the "Built-in" Application definitions and Policies... and the Behind the scenes management (absorption) of the major OS (Microsoft) update releases - and the same for the major Applications (Adobe).

Cons

the setup of new Administrators has been tricky. Seems to be getting better.

### "Threatlcocker - Please help other Vendors Support like you do!"

April 10, 2024

5.0

Threatlocker is a great company and has in our opinion, the best support for a product that is complex in nature. Also, they have grown and added so many more products that actually work and make sense to add to our Security stack. We always recommend them to Peers.

Pros

The number one thing about Threatlocker is the Cyber Heros. We use a ton of software in our company and no one else does support like them. We have been meeting with an Engineer ever few months as we deploy our new clients and he is a rock star. The product is awesome, it blocks every single thing you do already have a policy for, which for any Zero day or net new attacks, its amazing.

Cons

The only thing i can even think about here is that it does take a bit of time to really know the program, feel comfortable to do it on your own. However, with the Cyber Heros they are always a min away if we get stuck.

### "Skycomp Solutions trusts ThreatLocker"

August 28, 2024

5.0

Our team is happy to be with ThreatLocker!

Pros

ThreatLocker is a very reliable product that our company has been using for a while. It has successfully caught numerous threats and prevented us from falling victim to various cyber attacks.

Cons

ThreatLocker can be quite sensitive when downloading content from the internet, even from trusted websites. I often need to submit a ticket and wait for team approval. Sometimes it disrupts my workflow because I have to wait for an approval. However, given the statistics, the extra steps are worth it.

### "ThreatLocker - Peace of Mind"

August 31, 2021

5.0

ThreatLocker provides added protection in case a system is breached. It will stop the unknown software, and provide ring-fencing to make sure good software doesn't act across the network in ways it should not. I could not be happier with ThreatLocker.

Pros

ThreatLocker does what it promises. It catalogs and manages your known software while blocking unknown software from running. It also assists with elevation and network ringfencing. Together, these provide a great level of protection for the environment in case you do get breached.

Cons

It is not a set and forget, it takes active management. The time taken is reasonable, it just needs to be factored in. I probably spend 2 hours/week on managing ThreatLocker across nearly 400 endpoints.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

Testimonials from other MSP's, along with the trial experience.

Beautiful, the support & communication has been great.

Pros

Just the true Ease of the new portal & unified audit & of course the app which truly makes it easy on the fly to respond to request and other features.

Cons

Nothing really on this anymore, the legacy portal was very granular & not very user friendly at first, felt good to learn, but as for showing my Techs how to use it, the new portal rocks.
