### "ThreatLocker, the dependable partner."

March 3, 2026

5.0

Pros

ThreatLocker is a major partner/vendor of ours, and for good reason; they are dependable and cutting-edge when it comes to their services.

Cons

Protection comes at a price, but the premium is worth the investment. They are very responsive and do regular updates.

### "Awesome software with awesome support"

October 2, 2024

5.0

Pros

As an MSP, ThreatLocker is a major tool in our security stack. I have used\\tested a lot of security services in the past, but ThreatLocker is the best for the money I have found. It gives us a large amount of insight and control over devices which makes it hard to pick a favorite part about ThreatLocker. The product is awesome, but I really want to say my favorite part is the people behind it. You are assigned a Solutions Engineer to help guide you through the process of deployment/configuration. They are an amazing resource that I have never gotten with any other product. Usually, software companies just drop you into the portal, show you a few things, then you never hear from them again. Additionally, the support experience is the best I have ever seen with any software company. They are very knowledgeable, quick (under 5 minutes), and always available via chat. The MDR team also helps us have peace of mind that our devices are safe and secured with an action plan we set, even when we are away.

Cons

ThreatLocker is a robust solution. It can be very daunting to get started and comes with a time commitment to learn\\configure. I could see how some companies could struggle getting through that phase, but it is worth it.

We needed more insight into devices as we could see trends of legitimate software being used maliciously. Application whitelisting was the fix for this.

### "Reliable virus and malware protection."

June 1, 2026

5.0

Pros

We use the ThreatLocker as primary threat, virus and malware protection. It offers an enterprise grade security to ensure there is no data loss and prepare for BCP. The dashboard is easy to use and offers clear visibility of the venerability.

Cons

We sometimes experience false positive which takes time to investigate. Otherwise, everything else falls in plan.

### "Good to be safe. "

I’ve had to re ask if I could open a website before because I was unaware that I had to type in a reason. So my request was just automatically denied but never was told to me it was. I waited a long time to be able to finish my work.

Pros

I like that I my computer software is constantly and consistently being monitored. I can do my work while it does it’s in the back ground.

Cons

Sometimes they are overly cautious or overly sensitive. But I suppose they know more of what’s out there in the cyber world.

### "Admins -- ThreatLocker will help you sleep better!"

October 14, 2024

5.0

Our overall experience has been excellent. We use ThreatLocker on all of our servers and as many user endpoints as we can. It stops users in their tracks from installing random software or extensions that we do not approve of in our organization.

Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\] on of the solutions engineers is super knowledgeable. He know his way around ThreatLocker like it was the back of his hand. I like how comprehensive it is and how much tweaking can be done for apps and other settings. ThreatLocker definitely helps me sleep better at night.

Cons

It is so comprehensive that it is a world unto itself, which means that it takes some learning to be able to make use of the tweaking.

### "Get on with it already"

December 8, 2025

5.0

It uses AI/ML based detection to identify advanced threats, so the really bad zero-day stuff is actually being identified prior to it causing damage. Our endpoints are running with healthy malware drag and we have fewer complaints from everyone in the watercooler. It's providing us a perfectly clear view into what our devices are doing 100% of the time, which is now million times easier than was before and we can instantly act on that data after doing a search instead of waiting an hour for it all to roll in.

Pros

Honestly, CrowdStrike Falcon really does work, which is a miracle. The agent is extremely lightweight, so you don’t even realize it is there, unlike the Trellix product we used in the past, which would completely bog down our systems. Thank God. Real time detection is the big draw here, it caught a suspicious PowerShell script running on an endpoint and we were able to see the full nasty timeline in real time. You have that one lightweight agent (which is a great thing) so you do not have a bunch of disjointed pieces to deal with and the fact that it is cloud based means your responses will be that much faster.

Cons

The management dashboard is a complete disaster, it is far too complex and I truly believe that new users will think they are reading a foreign language. How often do the marketplace apps for vendor integrations go out of date at exactly the moment you need them? I wasted an entire day trying to get an integration to work for a proof of concept because the app I was using was outdated, which is infuriating.

### "Surprisingly ThreatLocker has worked for us as well"

May 26, 2026

5.0

We also use it to check off items in our Cybersecurity Compliance Checklist. I do not have to find a 6 digit text code while eating my lunch at my desk like I used to. Good for the money we pay.

Pros

ThreatLocker pushes notifications to my Apple watch and I never expected that to even be possible with Enterprise Software generally being trash. The ability to see what devices are being used is ok I guess. I mostly use it for the VPN functionality. It is easy to use and customer support is good.

Cons

This takes way too long. The push notification will sometimes arrive late. If you don't have the mobile app installed, then the Microsoft RD Web connection is basically unsupported, Good Luck.

### "Robust Security with Detailed Control"

April 16, 2026

5.0

ThreatLocker has been effective for tightening security and managing application access across devices. It offers strong protection, good performance, and helpful support. While setup and policy tuning can take some effort, the overall experience is secure, stable, and dependable.

Pros

Strong security controls, reliable malware protection, and clear visibility over application access. Performance is solid, and deployment is straightforward once configured.

Cons

Initial setup can feel complex, and some policy adjustments require more time than expected. Occasional false positives may interrupt workflows.

### "Phenomenal Protection, but High Admin Overhead"

June 3, 2026

4.0

Excellent. It completely changes the endpoint security model from reactive to proactive. It takes some administrative overhead to manage the approvals, but the trade-off for true Zero Trust is absolutely worth it.

Pros

The application whitelisting and Ringfencing capabilities are exceptional. Instead of chasing malware after it executes, ThreatLocker simply blocks anything that isn't explicitly approved. Once the initial learning mode is complete and policies are set, it provides massive peace of mind. Customer support is also incredibly responsive when you need to unblock a legitimate process quickly.

Cons

The initial setup and "learning" phase requires a lot of attention. If you lock down an environment too quickly without mapping out all your necessary background applications and developer tools, you will end up blocking legitimate work.

### "Security environment using threatLocker."

November 10, 2025

4.0

It ensures zero-trust machine security and scales efficiently to prevent unwanted actions, though modifying the production environment is complex and prone to access challenges.

Pros

1\. Easily identify vulnerable applications and block them. 2. The deployment of this security software is very simple. 3. It also offers a mobile app, making it convenient to respond to alerts.

Cons

1\. Making changes in an existing running environment is quite challenging. 2. The product has been observed to perform very slowly.

### "Gets the job done and keep our company safe."

October 13, 2024

4.0

Overall very good and does it job very reliable. No issues with installations or errors. Gets the job done and keep our company safe.

Pros

I liked it ThreatLocker provides strong security when you install applications while being easy to use. The application whitelisting feature is great because it lets our company control which programs can run on our, which helps us to reduce the risk of malware. ThreatLocker combines solid security with with a simple interface, making it a great tool for keeping our computers safe.

Cons

Sometimes program installation take multiple requests in order to install. Especially when they use Command Line or scripts (e.g. Xampp). You have to wait for approval everytime which can delay the process of using that software.

Our team is happy to be with ThreatLocker!

Pros

ThreatLocker is a very reliable product that our company has been using for a while. It has successfully caught numerous threats and prevented us from falling victim to various cyber attacks.

Cons

ThreatLocker can be quite sensitive when downloading content from the internet, even from trusted websites. I often need to submit a ticket and wait for team approval. Sometimes it disrupts my workflow because I have to wait for an approval. However, given the statistics, the extra steps are worth it.

### "Application Allow Listing that actually works"

May 9, 2024

5.0

Overall, we've been incredibly happy with the product because I feel like it's really allowed us to tighten up the security on our network and gives us much better control over what software gets run on our network. Nothing is fool proof, but I feel like this product really has mitigated our risk of ransomware. It's also moved us much closer to Zero Trust.

Pros

I've looked into application allow listing several times in the course of my career, and it always seemed to be too difficult to do and require far too much management. ThreatLocker actually figured out how to do this in a way that works. It's still involved, but it's an incredibly well designed product that allows us to do application allow listing, privilege access management for applications, and network and storage control. We have a lot of applications that require admin rights to run (or to update), but with ThreatLocker we can manage which applications can run with elevated privileges and which can't. The application control ensures our users can't install any apps that we haven't approved, which makes it easier for us to ensure we have a consistent environment from user to user and also cuts down on shadow IT. It's really helped us move towards a more secure environment and to implement more elements of Zero Trust. It's an immense application with a lot of parts and that can be confusing and overwhelming at times, but their support is terrific. They claim to answer all support requests within a minute, and, so far, when we've needed support we've had someone in chat support within a minute. If the support incident requires more than chat support, it quickly gets escalated to a Zoom meeting (and by "quickly" I mean a matter of minutes). We also rely on our Solutions engineer a lot. He's always willing to carve out a meeting time where we can dig into particular aspects of the product and he can walk us through solutions and features in a way that helps us learn to better manage the product and it's features. All of the folks we've interacted with a ThreatLocker (our account manager, support, our solutions engineer, etc) have been terrific. They know the product is complicated, but they helped us to implement the product in a way that ensured we'd be successful. This isn't a company that sells you a product and walks away. They reach out on a regular basis, which makes me feel like we have a partner in them and not just a software vendor. I also like ThreatLocker University (their training site) because it has a ton of good content that's targeted to specific parts of the product and is normally broken into 20-30 minute training sessions, so you can do a deep dive into a single area in a short amount of time. I use it a lot if I need a quick refresher on how to manage a feature.

Cons

It's an incredibly complex product and it can be overwhelming sometimes. It also does require a fair amount of maintenance. The maintenance goes down with some time and fine tuning, but it will never be a product where you set it and forget it. But I think the company is aware of that which is why they've built a strong and quick to respond support organization,

### "ThreatLocker: Zero-Trust Endpoint Protection for every MSP stack"

February 29, 2024

5.0

Pros

ThreatLocker has given us the ability to offer a fully comprehensive zero-trust endpoint protection package to our clients. Giving us the knowledge that we can ensure our clients systems are secure from emerging cybersecurity threats. We can easily review, respond and action daily to requests that come in from our clients. The main points for us are the Allowlisting, Ringfencing and Elevation control. Allowlisting gives us the ability to control what applications are allowed to run on secured computers. Then the Ringfencing allows us to define what an allowed application is allowed to do once it is running. We can restrict its application, file, registry and internet access. And the elevation control allows us to take local admin access away from users and have admin rights through individual policies within ThreatLocker. The deplyment and implementation process is very easy with the various instructions for deploying through various remote management tools. Once the computers have gone through the initial learning process, we then review the audit log and built policies from there. The ThreatLocker Cyber Hero Support Team has been incredibly helpfully along our journey with getting ThreatLocker deployed. When we were first getting ThreatLocker rolled out they were always available along the way assisting in getting us up to speed. Any questions we’ve had can be raised up from within the ThreatLocker portal and most queries resolved there and then via the live chat or even Zoom call where needed.

Cons

Not really a con but as ThreatLocker is such a fully featured and power tool, there can be lots to learn and pick up. But this is mitigated by the incredibly useful Knowledge Base, ThreatLocker University and the Cyber Hero Support Team.

### "ThreatLocker is an invaluable tool and incredible company"

March 23, 2023

5.0

From my initial conversations with the team at ThreatLocker, to on-boarding, roll-out and ongoing support, it has been one of the most pleasant vendor experiences I have had in a really longtime.

Pros

There are new threats coming out daily. ThreatLocker helps add an important layer of security and brings system one step closer to protection from these new threats. ZeroTrust is not a new concept but ThreatLocker made it accessible to all businesses, big or small. I also have to say that the team at ThreatLocker have been amazing to work with and I wish other vendors would be as partner support focused.

Cons

Honestly there are not a ton of cons. The process to implement ZeroTrust can be a bit more involved than most realize, and ThreatLocker does have some of those challenges too. However the platform is designed in a way and has features to help streamline that process and end user experience. Backed by amazing support.

### "A must have in your security toolkit"

February 26, 2024

For all the security layers we have, app control is the most important. No client we have with Threatlocker installed has had a single ransomware or malware event…you can’t get better than that.

Pros

It’s the best product out there for application whitelisting. It’s easy to use, it’s MSP friendly, has some of the best support I’ve ever experienced from a vendor.

Cons

Nyhing negative to say about the product or the vendor

### "Missing link in the cyber protection stack."

April 3, 2024

It took us a few weeks to fully appreciate the extent of ThreatLocker's abilities and uses. Now we wonder how we managed without it.

Pros

ThreatLocker locks the workstations and servers' ability to install new or unapproved software and applications. Its straightforward interface allows users to request approval to install new applications. The protection is true for regular users as well as administrators.

Cons

### "A great product for complete piece of mind."

February 13, 2024

5.0

Overall, my experience with ThreatLocker has been excellent. It's easy to use with fantastic support. It gives our company complete piece of mind that nothing will run on our endpoints unless it has been approved.

Pros

What I like the most is the ThreatLocker support, it's excellent! Most of my questions have been answered through the university or the help page. Both are fantastic tools. That being said, if I can't find what I need, I message the Cyber Heroes, they respond almost instantly. They're very polite, knowledgeable and follow the problem through until you're happy to close the ticket. It's nice to know that if you're stuck or unsure, someone has your back.

Cons

I find that sometimes ThreatLocker doesn’t always elevate an application when it has been set on approval. This is an intermittent issue that I need to raise with the TreatLocker team when it happens again. I am sure it is an easy fix and I know the Cyber Heroes will be happy to look into. This is the only thing that I can think of that is negative.

### "This is how MSP's sleep at night"

September 26, 2022

5.0

The product training and onboarding is exceptional. ThreatLocker goes the extra mile to be sure you understand the product and are deploying it successfully. The software works. It will stop anything and everything that either isn't allowed to run or it doesn't recognize.

Pros

There isn't anything about ThreatLocker I don't like. From the Ring Fencing to Allow Listing to Elevation control, it keeps users from doing things they shouldn't be while allowing what you need to run, run. I sleep at night knowing that some random software can't run on a client environment and cause an incident.

Cons

Threatlocker is not a set it and forget it product. They can however use their internal CyberHero's to make it easier for you. It's just an extra cost.

### "ThreatLocker - Peace of Mind"

August 31, 2021

5.0

ThreatLocker provides added protection in case a system is breached. It will stop the unknown software, and provide ring-fencing to make sure good software doesn't act across the network in ways it should not. I could not be happier with ThreatLocker.

Pros

ThreatLocker does what it promises. It catalogs and manages your known software while blocking unknown software from running. It also assists with elevation and network ringfencing. Together, these provide a great level of protection for the environment in case you do get breached.

Cons

It is not a set and forget, it takes active management. The time taken is reasonable, it just needs to be factored in. I probably spend 2 hours/week on managing ThreatLocker across nearly 400 endpoints.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

### "ThreatLocker: Industry Leading Endpoint Protection Platform"

October 24, 2023

Pros

ThreatLocker has been such an amazing partner to work with. Great customer support and fully loaded with many cutting edge security features. Being a provider and user of ThreatLocker has proven to be very beneficial in having the know-how efficiency when easily implementing and integrating these features into the daily flow of business. Allowlisting is by far the most frequently utilized feature our clients take advantage of daily. Creating policies at both a per user scale and org-wide scale has been very easy to use.

Cons

ThreatLocker is so cutting edge that there many features offered that have much more potential to be built out and improved upon, such as Elevation Control.
