### "ThreatLocker a Requirement for your Security Stack!"

February 11, 2025

5.0

I've been using ThreatLocker for about four years now within our primary security stack, and it has been rock solid. We primarily use their Application Control function, but we have also demoed their EDR solution, which is incredibly strong and significantly lighter weight than other EDRs on the market. The Application Control portion has been amazing, provided you put in the effort to tune the software for the tools you use. Their engineers are great to work with, and I haven't had a bad experience with them to date. \[sensitive content hidden\] (engineer) and \[sensitive content hidden\] (Account Rep) have been fantastic at keeping us updated on what's coming and assisting with any issues that arise. The tool is incredibly stable on our endpoints, and we've only seen minor breaks on devices with crazy high uptimes. We manage over 7,700 endpoints, all containing ThreatLocker Application Control. We couldn't recommend this tool enough if you want to keep your endpoints safe. It has single-handedly saved customers from potential compromise due to the way it allows and denies applications.

Pros

The Vendor Support has been Fantastic! Their Application Control and Elevation Control has been a great addition to DiD Security Stack! The ability to overwrite Microsoft Windows default UAC with ThreatLocker and give end users more control over apps that are approved to run is a huge help for those tools that require Admin writes just to function.

Cons

The ability to control the Tray settings and the ability to add customer popups to the Request Access popup is my least favorite part of the tool. It's pretty limited and doesn't allow much ability to customization options.

### "ThreatLocker is an outstanding product backed by an oustanding team"

February 6, 2025

5.0

One of the best things about ThreatLocker is the don't just sell you the product and then leave you hanging without support or worst still charge you for the support after the initial sale like so many other companies. To be honest it was a breath of fresh air in comparison to so many other companies. They provide you with a dedicated team to ensure you get the most out of the product and that it runs optimally. We were assigned a very kind chap \[sensitive content hidden\] who deserves a huge shout out for his outstanding efforts and commitment to getting us up and running. Nothing was too much trouble he was on hand every step of the way helping us deliver ThreatLocker to all our customers but one in particular was a nightmare. Nonetheless \[sensitive content hidden\] rose to the challenge helping train, guide and often finding solutions to allowing some rather interesting applications coexist with ThreatLocker whilst securing the environment. We are still very much on a journey with \[sensitive content hidden\] and the team at ThreatLocker but the hard work is most certainly paying off and we wouldn't hesitate recommending ThreatLocker to anyone. The Cyber Hero team are available 24/7 and are always ready to help with any questions about the service or best practices and have now become an extension of our own team.

Pros

Overall it has been a fantastic experience the software and solution is solid and the support and team have been invaluable getting this implemented across our customer base. Once properly implemented (which does take time and effort) it provides a controlled, safe environment and sets secure boundaries for our clients systems without the large performance overheads that so many other applications impose. The cost of Threatlocker and the time you need to provide to getting it set-up is absolutely worth it. Not only does the application deliver peace of mind to the customer environments we have deployed it to, it also gives us confidence knowing they are safe and secure. It ticks all the boxes for one of the biggest challenges out there and that's securing customers and meeting Cyber Security requirements.

Cons

I don't quite see this as a con personally but prospective customers need to be aware that this is a complex security tool which requires a large commitment of time and effort to get configured. It's not by any stretch of the imagination and tool that you just install and forget.

### "ThreatLocker is a great first line of defense"

December 23, 2024

5.0

Overall, this is a great and trusted first line of defense.

Pros

As a large corporation, it is imperative to have cybersecurity to keep us safe from cyber threats. ThreatLocker provides us safety as a first line of defense against ransomware and vulnerability attacks. The feature I like most about ThreatLocker is the allowlisting feature. If it is not on the "allow" list, it will block it.

Cons

It is not a complete threat detection software as it does not include E-mails or webcam threat detection

### "Damn Good Product! "

November 6, 2024

5.0

Threatlocker has been a great addition to our security stack, and we recommend it to anyone reading this review. Rarely do we find a vendor who works with us to get the best out of their product more than Threatlocker. We are huge fans.

Pros

ThreatLocker's default-deny approach effectively locks down our environment by proactively protecting our endpoints. Every two weeks, our reps meet with us, offering insights and assistance that make them feel like an extension of our team. Due to ThreatLocker's protection, we don't require additional MDR or XDR solutions, making it an efficient and effective way to keep our organization secure.

Cons

It's true that ThreatLocker requires a bit of a learning curve to become proficient with it, however, it's certainly not an insurmountable hurdle and it's definitely worth taking the time to become familiar with the platform. Our TL reps are always available for any questions or assistance we need, and they always go the extra mile to ensure we understand the platform.

### "Environment Security with ThreatLocker"

January 20, 2025

5.0

It gives zero trust security to machines , very scalable to block the unwanted things. Difficult to make changes in production environment along with multiple access issues faced.

Pros

1\. Easily capture the vulnerable applications and blocked those. 2. Very easy deployment of this security software. 3. It provides a mobile application as well which is very convinient to give responses on alerts.

Cons

1\. To make changes in the already running environment , it is quite difficult. 2. Very slow performance of this product observed.

### "ThreatLocker, Your Zero Tolerance Solution"

April 28, 2025

4.0

At my company, it is used on very sensitive systems which have zero tolerance for any infection.

Pros

It is very thorough at scanning your environment, identifying and removing any threats. It has excellent customer support, you never have to wait long for a response.

Cons

The interface can be extremely slow, incurring repeated timeouts. If you try to alter your setup, from the original design, you'll likely run into trouble.

### "A+ Product and Team!"

November 11, 2024

5.0

Threatlocker has been a fantastic addition to our defense-in-depth strategy for our clients and we are very happy with the tool. The onboarding process painless with the help of the Threatlocker's learning mode and the Threatlocker team, you'll have a pretty solid baseline application whitelist within a couple weeks. The onboarding/success team are very thorough and attentive, and they meet with you as often as you need them to, and they continue meeting with you regularly to make sure everything is going well. They truly care about your use of their tool and they want to make sure you're using it in the most secure way. Their on-demand support is top notch as well with quick response to live chat and their willingness to hop on video call to assist with whatever is needed. I would recommend Threatlocker to anyone who cares about security of their organization.

Pros

The onboarding process is painless, with the help of learning mode and the Threatlocker team.

Cons

Honestly- nothing comes to mind The team at Threatlocker are so willing to teach you and guide you through the process that it made this software a nobrainer.

### "Threatlocker, easier than everyone said it would be!"

October 29, 2024

5.0

Overall ThreatLocker has been a fantastic addition to our stack. Several MSPs warned me about the complexity of implementing TL properly, they were wrong. With the help of the Cyber Heros teams we've deployed it to over 2000 endpoints without any significant issues.

Pros

The depth of features, especially the elevation and storage control, and the rapid and detailed response from the SOC team.

Cons

I wish I could purchase it via Pax8 to help with license reconciliation

### "System Source - ThreatLocker Review"

September 19, 2024

5.0

There was the usual learning curve to climb at the start, but the Cyber Hero's were there for us when we needed them. The continual product/service enhancement has given us confidence that we have made the right choice for Application Control.

Pros

the "Built-in" Application definitions and Policies... and the Behind the scenes management (absorption) of the major OS (Microsoft) update releases - and the same for the major Applications (Adobe).

Cons

the setup of new Administrators has been tricky. Seems to be getting better.

### "Aegis Biz Tech ThreatLocker Review"

September 20, 2024

5.0

We're very new with the product, but so far it has everything I look for in that it is easy to deploy and manage and having Cyber Hero there to approve application requests means our staff doesn't have to take time away from other tasks to review those.

Pros

The interface is intuitive. I like the granularity of control over what we can allow deny. Deployment is easy with our RMM. Once I got the hang of it the management of it is very straight forward. Cyber Hero support is very responsive and helpful. Onboarding with Richard Dowdy has been great. He's been patient as we learn the product and explains things very clearly.

Cons

I suppose the initial learning curve. Although, it was not a big deal as we worked through it with Richard.

### "Zero Trust Security"

December 23, 2024

4.0

Pros

I love the zero trust model that they use, as well as the ease of deployment and deployment management. The storage management is also fairly robust.

Cons

There is an extremely steep learning curve for policy management, which maybe tricky for non savvy users. This can also introduce policy errors as a result of improper use.

Our team is happy to be with ThreatLocker!

Pros

ThreatLocker is a very reliable product that our company has been using for a while. It has successfully caught numerous threats and prevented us from falling victim to various cyber attacks.

Cons

ThreatLocker can be quite sensitive when downloading content from the internet, even from trusted websites. I often need to submit a ticket and wait for team approval. Sometimes it disrupts my workflow because I have to wait for an approval. However, given the statistics, the extra steps are worth it.

### "ThreatLocker - Answer to security augmentation for Microsoft Defender"

June 29, 2024

5.0

ThreatLocker has restored my faith in vendors who prioritize genuine value over sales. Amidst a market where PE Firms often push vendors towards aggressive sales tactics, reducing MSPs to mere extensions of their sales force, ThreatLocker stands out. Their commitment to value shines through exceptional support—knowledgeable and responsive, often resolving issues on the initial call. They're attentive to partner input, swiftly adapting their roadmap accordingly. Moreover, they adeptly address the unique demands of SMBs, MidMarket, and Enterprises, demonstrating their versatility and dedication to all sectors.

Pros

ThreatLocker distinguishes itself from typical MSP vendors by prioritizing integrity over trends. Through my interactions with them, I've gained trust in their commitment to being a steadfast ally in our cybersecurity efforts, acting as a vigilant guard against the proverbial fox (Defender) lurking near the hen house. Their 'default deny' strategy effectively removes false positives in SOC monitoring of EDR telemetry, providing peace of mind. Embracing this stringent approach ensures a more secure and restful night.

Cons

Adopting a default deny strategy was more transformative than I anticipated. The initial workload was surprising, but the value of Cyberhero support became clear quickly. For those considering this approach, I advise setting up regular weekly meetings to ensure diligent development of your initial policies. It’s a commitment that truly pays off in securing your environment.

The challenge of enhancing Microsoft Defender with multiple products was daunting due to the growing threat landscape and vendor overload. I sought a solution that could centralize Defender augmentation. ThreatLocker, with its default deny policy, not only reduces MDR costs by passing on the SOC savings but also provides the targeted support I needed to bolster Defender effectively with just one tool.

### "Love ThreatLocker"

June 6, 2024

5.0

Pros

The ThreatLocker platform covers so many needs and they're constantly adding to it. Also, the team is amazing. I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved quickly and I'm always connected with someone that knows what they're doing. For cybersecurity, ThreatLocker is one of our frontline defenses keeping out ransomware and other malware.

Cons

If you're using the allow listing, ThreatLocker can get pretty noisy and require a lot of maintenance. If your users aren't opening a lot of random software after the learning period, you'll be fine. ThreatLocker has a lot of power but you better know what you're doing with it to use that power.

### "Application Allow Listing that actually works"

May 9, 2024

5.0

Overall, we've been incredibly happy with the product because I feel like it's really allowed us to tighten up the security on our network and gives us much better control over what software gets run on our network. Nothing is fool proof, but I feel like this product really has mitigated our risk of ransomware. It's also moved us much closer to Zero Trust.

Pros

I've looked into application allow listing several times in the course of my career, and it always seemed to be too difficult to do and require far too much management. ThreatLocker actually figured out how to do this in a way that works. It's still involved, but it's an incredibly well designed product that allows us to do application allow listing, privilege access management for applications, and network and storage control. We have a lot of applications that require admin rights to run (or to update), but with ThreatLocker we can manage which applications can run with elevated privileges and which can't. The application control ensures our users can't install any apps that we haven't approved, which makes it easier for us to ensure we have a consistent environment from user to user and also cuts down on shadow IT. It's really helped us move towards a more secure environment and to implement more elements of Zero Trust. It's an immense application with a lot of parts and that can be confusing and overwhelming at times, but their support is terrific. They claim to answer all support requests within a minute, and, so far, when we've needed support we've had someone in chat support within a minute. If the support incident requires more than chat support, it quickly gets escalated to a Zoom meeting (and by "quickly" I mean a matter of minutes). We also rely on our Solutions engineer a lot. He's always willing to carve out a meeting time where we can dig into particular aspects of the product and he can walk us through solutions and features in a way that helps us learn to better manage the product and it's features. All of the folks we've interacted with a ThreatLocker (our account manager, support, our solutions engineer, etc) have been terrific. They know the product is complicated, but they helped us to implement the product in a way that ensured we'd be successful. This isn't a company that sells you a product and walks away. They reach out on a regular basis, which makes me feel like we have a partner in them and not just a software vendor. I also like ThreatLocker University (their training site) because it has a ton of good content that's targeted to specific parts of the product and is normally broken into 20-30 minute training sessions, so you can do a deep dive into a single area in a short amount of time. I use it a lot if I need a quick refresher on how to manage a feature.

Cons

It's an incredibly complex product and it can be overwhelming sometimes. It also does require a fair amount of maintenance. The maintenance goes down with some time and fine tuning, but it will never be a product where you set it and forget it. But I think the company is aware of that which is why they've built a strong and quick to respond support organization,

### "ThreatLocker is the way to go!"

June 3, 2024

5.0

Overall, we have had a fantastic experience with ThreatLocker. The software is solid and their team is fantastic to work with. The cost of this tool and the time to set it up is worth it. This tool gives us a fantastic peace of mind in environments we have it deployed in.

Pros

I love the security it provides with very little hassle for the end user. When properly setup, it adds safe boundaries for your client's systems to run in without a big hit to performance.

Cons

ThreatLocker is a complex tool with a lot of different moving parts. It's not plug-and-play, set it and forget it style tool. Your time is required to set it up properly and manage it. There is a large time commitment required up front. HOWEVER, ThreatLocker doesn't just sell to you and then drop you in the mess and charge you for their help like other companies. They provide regular check-ins with their support team to ensure our environment is running optimally. Also they have 24-7 support always ready to help us with any question about the service or best practices. They provide a university platform to train your team to run the software. It's not a set it and forget it product... but if you put in the work, the payoff is huge!

So far I have enjoyed the product, support and general use. I look forward to protecting our customers beyond what other MSP are offering and do it at a reasonable rate.

Pros

The program is always improving. Response time on support is very good. The program is very thorough.

Cons

### "Application access/elevation control and ringfencing in a simple to use package"

November 16, 2023

5.0

The level of support provided by both our solutions engineer and account manager has been excellent. \[sensitive content hidden\] in particular has been extremely helpful with our initial deployment queries. At the start we did bounce around a few different account managers, presumably due to restructuring, but once we went live this stopped and \[sensitive content hidden\] has been excellent since then.

Pros

ThreatLocker was easy to implement and deloy to our (AAD/Intune) environment, and has thus far been easy to manage. Compared to our previous access control solution, TL is leagues ahead in terms of flexibility and simplicity. Due to TL's not-for-profit pricing, it also coss less than competitor's solution. Our support and account management team have been extremely helpful, answering all queries that we've had. \[sensitive content hidden\] in particular has shown exceptional knowledge of the platform and has always been able to provide a solution when asked. Regular updates bring new product features and QoL improvements.

Cons

Platform limitations around use of batch and python scripts, though understandable, have been the main source of contention internally since deployment. The mobile app could also do with additional features to match that of the web portal, though I understand this is planned for future updates.

Pros

True zero trust access control. Fine-grained application, user, device, network port, and internet default deny.

Cons

### "ThreatLocker: Zero-Trust Endpoint Protection for every MSP stack"

February 29, 2024

5.0

Pros

ThreatLocker has given us the ability to offer a fully comprehensive zero-trust endpoint protection package to our clients. Giving us the knowledge that we can ensure our clients systems are secure from emerging cybersecurity threats. We can easily review, respond and action daily to requests that come in from our clients. The main points for us are the Allowlisting, Ringfencing and Elevation control. Allowlisting gives us the ability to control what applications are allowed to run on secured computers. Then the Ringfencing allows us to define what an allowed application is allowed to do once it is running. We can restrict its application, file, registry and internet access. And the elevation control allows us to take local admin access away from users and have admin rights through individual policies within ThreatLocker. The deplyment and implementation process is very easy with the various instructions for deploying through various remote management tools. Once the computers have gone through the initial learning process, we then review the audit log and built policies from there. The ThreatLocker Cyber Hero Support Team has been incredibly helpfully along our journey with getting ThreatLocker deployed. When we were first getting ThreatLocker rolled out they were always available along the way assisting in getting us up to speed. Any questions we’ve had can be raised up from within the ThreatLocker portal and most queries resolved there and then via the live chat or even Zoom call where needed.

Cons

Not really a con but as ThreatLocker is such a fully featured and power tool, there can be lots to learn and pick up. But this is mitigated by the incredibly useful Knowledge Base, ThreatLocker University and the Cyber Hero Support Team.

### "Threatlocker - best endpoint security protection to date."

March 18, 2024

5.0

Our team enjoyed the onboarding process as discussion was very interactive and time effective. The process was organized to maximize knowledge transfer, minimize user disruption and maximize security profile.

Pros

The software is powerful but like all security tools questions surface that require rapid vendor clarification or direction and the Threatlocker's "Cyber Hero" support the solution is taken to much a higher level - most issues are reviewed and resolved by the Threatlocker support team while the questionable ones related to how our company wants to proceed are forwarded with the data needed for us to make quick security decisions. End result: a high security profile with minimal user frustration - very unusual these days.

Cons

Like all security packages you need to understand how the software works to get the proper results.
