### "Room for Growth "

March 26, 2026

2.0

I really appreciate the mission of Carepatron; however, the performance is not great. I think practices would be okay paying for convenience because the EHR you choose is crucial for the flow of the practice. I think there is a way to have an affordable EHR while being user friendly. I understand we can’t get all the bells and whistles for the price, but I believe there’s room for improvement. I have hope to see Carepatron continue to grow successfully and benefit practices effectively.

Pros

I appreciate the accessibility it provides for small practices. I like being able to see other clinicians templates for certain documents in the community tab.

Cons

An assessments tab is needed. Coming from Sessions Health, they had a plethora of assessments in the database. We were able to click the assessment and it would score and interpret the assessment after it was submitted. It wasn’t a word document. I also had the option to set reminders to administer the assessment within a timeframe of my choosing. It’s hard to keep up with when to reassess multiple clients. I also was able to set a reminder to review the treatment plan. I would like a section for a note that isn’t clinical and the client wouldn’t have access to it. It would have things like their social supports names, their favorite color, etc., rapport building material that I can reference and things that wouldn’t be appropriate in a clinical note. It’d be nice to not allow multiple colors for the calendar. Everyone should have the same colors to look uniform. For example, new clients who haven’t completed paperwork could be yellow, new clients who completed the paperwork will be purple, recurring clients could be blue. Allowing each clinician to change their theme gets confusing and looks tacky. There needs to be a note template in the system. The system kind of looks unprofessional. It looks like a bunch of google docs documents rather than an EHR. It takes so long creating our own documents or trying to correct how a document was uploaded into the platform. Constantly having to reload the website or app is so annoying. I don’t understand its purpose. I have a different price than other clinicians in my practice and I find myself having to create invoices manually for each appointment separately. I would like to have more control over my fees and have the invoices be automatically set when the appointment is created. The owners shouldn’t have so much control, especially if they are running a 1099 practice. They can block what features we can and can’t use. I think scheduling and fees should be within individual clinicians control. I never get notifications for the app although I have them on. I have to constantly check the app for any new inboxes. I like that there are AI generated notes; however, I don’t like the transcript being there. It should be optional.

### "The most seamless EHR experience"

March 21, 2026

5.0

Incredible! Honestly, you guys have created such a wonderful project that makes my life easier every day!

Pros

I love how intuitive its format is, and how beautiful the layout! I also really value that my practice has a professional feel to it with client-facing materials, and Carepatron really shines at that. I genuinely enjoy logging into Carepatron, which is different than my experience with other EHRs. I love that you can write clinical notes and still see the old ones easily without exiting the current note. I haven't had any bugs or issues also. One time when I had a question, customer support was incredibly fast in getting back to me and it was quickly resolved.

Cons

I really don't like that when an intake goes out, the forms always seem to appear to the client randomly out of order. It's still the same forms, but I'd rather have a choice in the sequence (which they read first, second, third, etc.)

Reason for choosing Carepatron

Carepatron was the best on all the features that are important to me, including intuitiveness of layout, minimizing clicks, professional vibe to clients, affordability since i'm just starting out. Plus it has the AI tool which makes writing easier sometimes.

It was not intuitive at all, and everything seemed to have a complication to it! You also couldn't change the font on the forms, and their default font for some of the questions was 9pt, which is too small for many people. When I reached out to customer service, they told me to just tell clients to zoom in (which doesn't work on the phone anyway!). Also their telehealth was annoying and you coudln't choose your own background or blur it. Overall, I hated going in there every day. In comparison, Care Patron is such a breath of fresh air!

### "Affordable, Evolving, and Exactly What I Needed"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Carepatron has been very positive. After an extensive search for the right EHR system, this platform has proven to be both reliable and efficient. It meets my operational needs, continues to improve, and provides a level of accessibility that is hard to find at this price point. I would absolutely recommend it to others looking for a practical and affordable solution

Pros

One of the biggest reasons I chose Carepatron was the affordability. As someone who spent a significant amount of time searching for an electronic health record system that was both cost-effective and functional, this platform truly met my needs. The value for money is exceptional. Beyond pricing, I really appreciate how the system continues to evolve and improve. I can clearly see updates being made regularly, and it shows that the company is actively investing in making the platform better for its users. The system is user-friendly, supports my workflow as a guardian and conservator, and allows me to maintain organized and compliant records for my clients.

Cons

The only area I would like to see improvement in is customer support availability. While I understand that many systems are moving toward automated or AI-based responses, there are times when having access to live support 24/7 would be extremely beneficial, especially when handling time-sensitive matters.

### "Appreciate the functions, and there's room for growth!"

March 24, 2026

3.0

Pros

I like the automatic appointment reminders, the ease of use of the telehealth platform, and the value of the product. I also like the ability to cross reference calendars from other sites/apps.

Cons

It's often buggy, sometimes my contributions don't save, and that's frustrating. I also wish there were more reliable reporting for case management - for example, I need to report every month how many sessions each client attended. I haven't found an efficient way to do that yet. I wish there were more options for collecting and organizing client info to use for generating reports for grant applications, etc. I also think the documentation can be tough to follow and track because the interface isn't so user friendly. It's also a chore to navigate the documents tab and review the doc history.

### "Has a lot of potential "

March 25, 2026

4.0

I think it needs more time and I've looked at so many different EHR's. I like the AI assisted note on Upheal.io a lot better. Moving records is a large commitment and there is an onboarding process. I don't want to move, then move, and move again.

Pros

Carepatron is an amazing value for the money. It was easy to use on my end and it sync'd very well with Simple Practice and Google. I originally bought the subscription not realizing it was private pay. The appointments and booking link were very easy to embed. It was easy to transfer patient records. We waited for insurance beta testing was done and some clients agreed to test it out. The AI assisted dictation is simple to use and recording session has gotten better. They got appointment reminders easily. Customer Service is usually by email or scheduled meeting a few days out. I really enjoy the online forum of worksheets. I like the trainings offered

Cons

You do have to buy a separate license account per person using it. So if you have a biller and yourself, you buy 2. It's still less than Simple Practice. My main issue with it was my biller telling me how difficult it was to set up with the insurance companies. She told me that you had to be there when they called to set it up and the times were random. Another con is the AI work flows but partly was me. It was sending some things but you can't click out of them and must do all documents in order. I fixed it and then it still kept sending the wrong files. The measures are not self scoring yet, they said it's on the horizon

### "Appreciating the support while the kinks are addressed. "

March 19, 2026

3.0

We had some difficulties & concerns were heard. They reached out to understand. We are looking forward to concerns being remedied. Truly appreciated their attention.

Pros

Value is top!!! Love the tags as this helps everyone on staff visualize top concerns for each one wo having to go into the chart.

Cons

Minor appt reminders need to go to all adults involved. There are some struggles with payment methods being captured and/or saved. The "relationship" does not connect to the minors charts the way it would be beneficial. Actually it causes more disruptions. There needs to be a better workflow for minors overall. (this is what has been discussed). Truthfully the "relationship" option is just confusing, add a section in the charts for contacts, emergency contact....so it is all in one place and easily accessible.

### "Beware the Free Account (You may get locked out/Forced to pay for upgrade)"

April 29, 2026

1.0

I was very disappointed by the failure to accurately represent the limitations of the trial period and free account. I don't expect much for free but the misleading suggestion that there is a viable free option was very frustrating. You can really only have a few records for 1 patient and then you get locked out.

Pros

This initially seemed like an OK option for a small therapy practice but the user interface is really awkward in terms of basic billing and documentation for a mental health private practice.

Cons

The 1 GB free account is misrepresented. Once you hit the 1 GB you lose access to EVERYTHING unless you pay for the upgrade. There is a warning that you are nearing your limit but in my mind, that should not mean you will lose access to everything. I was unable to delete my account or retrieve any records that were within the free 1 GB without paying. They eventually agreed to give me access to delete my account but I was still blocked from downloading the client records which I was able to do before I hit the storage limit.

### "Affordable and customizable with occasional growing pains"

March 19, 2026

4.0

After nearly three years of use, Carepatron has evolved into a reliable and well-rounded client management system. It offers many of the features found in larger, more established platforms while remaining a cost-effective option for solo practitioners and small businesses. The platform also demonstrates strong responsiveness to user feedback, with regular updates and ongoing feature development.

Pros

Affordable compared to other management systems, with flexible pricing based on clinic size Includes free telehealth, plus text and email reminders Customisable interface (e.g., colours to match branding or personal preferences) Ongoing system improvements with new features regularly added Integrates with Google Calendar Supports management of multiple clinicians across different locations and varying hours Strong workflow management and ability to customise email and text communications

Cons

Some newer features lack intuitiveness and could be easier to use Limited transparency around coding prompts (e.g., placeholders), reducing flexibility Telehealth platform needs optimisation; connectivity can be impacted by clients’ internet setup Customer service and AI support are helpful but tend to offer only general guidance Transferring a business or clients (including notes on past appointments) between practitioners is complex and time-consuming, requiring manual transfer of past appointments

### "Excellent platform that keeps improving"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, it is a great platform. I appreciate the quick responses to question I have by the team. I also appreciate the continued updates that are provided.

Pros

I like the simplicity of it and how it has all the features I need to run my practice. I once had three separate platforms I operated from so it is nice to have been able to consolidate down to one.

Cons

There are some things missing that I wish it had such as a way to see if messages are read, the ability to send mass messages individually, whiteboard feature for the virtual room, being able to customize additional workflows.

### "Honest Review from A Mental Health Therapist"

March 27, 2026

3.0

Carepatron has been a learning curve, but I have felt supported by their staff. I hope that bugs are continually fixed and to stay with Carepatron as the software could be the next simplepractice with some minor tweaking. The price is affordable for therapists like me so I hope that remains the same or similar.

Pros

The price and options of what the price can do really attracted me to Carepatron. The price is firmly worth it. I really like the telehealth option. Most of my clients can easily hop on for session it seems. I also like the fact of how easy it is to book through the booking link for clients. I think that has helped me retain client consults and client in general. The customer support team is also accessible, even if they respond in a few hours, they always respond. I like that I can set the appointment reminders for clients as I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, but would love a reminder at the 15 minute mark before session.

Cons

Billing is clunky. I often spend a lot of time going back and cleaning up billing for appointments that never even happened or that just have been difficult to edit either the invoice or the claim. I overall would love to see some improvement as I use both insurance and self pay options for clients. Patient records have been okay, but I would like to see better ease for working with minor clients, this has been tedious. Lack of appointment reminders that are less than one hour have been a little difficult.

### "Works for starting out but not competitive to the major therapy platforms"

April 7, 2026

3.0

The program is a great price if you're starting out your private practice. However, it lacks some of the key functionality that a private practice needs to run effectively and efficiently. If you are starting a private practice and only working a day or two a week, it is manageable, but if you do this full time or run a group practice, some functionality of the platform needs to make some big improvements before it seems like a viable competitor to Simple Practice or Therapy Notes.

Pros

Moving my client documents and files over from another platform was fairly easy. I also like how the platform has it's own video conferencing option. It is a good price, but there are definite things I would like to see changed.

Cons

Carepatron doesn't feel like a program that was created for therapists to use. When a client or potential client fills out paperwork, it doesn't automatically update personal details, like phone number, date of birth, etc. It also doesn't have a great homepage. I wish it had a place where it indicated you have notes that are drafts or are not yet complete. It also doesn't have reminders that you need to complete something or update a treatment plan. The templates that are within the program also need some work or don't automatically calculate a score (like the PHQ-9).

### "Good Functionality, Needs Interface Improvements"

April 1, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Carepatron has been generally positive, especially because of its affordability, reliable record-keeping, billing features, and highly accurate transcription. However, for someone like me who is working solo and not managing a team, long-term affordability is very important. If the platform can sustain pricing that remains reasonable for solo practitioners, it would be an excellent solution. I also think it would benefit from adding more features specifically designed for individuals who manage their practice alone, as many of the current tools seem more geared toward teams.

Pros

What I like most about Carepatron is its affordability and the opportunity to try it through a free trial, which makes it easy to explore the platform without a big upfront commitment. It offers strong record-keeping features that help keep client information organized and easy to access. The billing tools are also very helpful, making it simpler to manage invoices and payments in one place. One of my favorite features is the transcription function—I really appreciate how accurate it is, which saves time and reduces the need for manual note-taking.

Cons

What I like least about Carepatron is its interface, which feels outdated and not very visually appealing. The overall design looks dull, with boring colors that make the platform less engaging to use. I also wish there were more customization options for the dashboard so users could better tailor the layout and appearance to suit their workflow and preferences. In addition, the subscription pricing doesn’t always seem to add up correctly and can feel more expensive than expected based on the actual calculations. The HELP features are also not very reliable, as some of them do not function properly when needed.

It is more than adequate for my needs and the improvements that have been made to the desktop version have always made my user experience better but I have been frustrated when making or managing bookings on my mobile device.

Pros

I am impressed with the way Carepatron are continually looking to improve the product and the customer support team are excellent and seek to address queries and fix bugs and issues in a timely manner with clear communication at every turn. The product is definitely value for money and great for appointment management. The interface is easy to use on a computer but a bit clunkier on a mobile device and the constant updates on accessing the the system do get a bit frustrating especially on the mobile app. I am not currently using the patient record function.

Cons

The use from a mobile device is often frustrating with slow initial load times followed by an update that then further delays the ability to use the app on the go

### "Carepatron for Small OT Clinic"

April 3, 2026

5.0

its affordability and ease of use, which make it a practical option for managing daily tasks without a steep learning curve. The platform is intuitive and allows me to complete documentation, scheduling, and patient management efficiently. While there are some areas that could be improved, the overall value it provides for the cost and its user-friendly design make it a helpful tool in my practice.

Pros

it offers great value for the cost while still providing all the essential features I need in one place. The platform is very easy to use, which makes daily tasks more efficient and reduces the time spent navigating complicated systems. Its patient management tools are especially helpful, allowing me to keep everything organized and accessible, from documentation to scheduling. I also appreciate how simple it is to create and customize templates, which saves time and ensures my notes and workflows are tailored to my specific needs. Overall, it helps streamline my practice without adding unnecessary complexity.

Cons

few workflow limitations that make documentation and administrative tasks more time-consuming than they need to be. For example, goals do not automatically carry over into SOAP notes, which means I have to re-enter or manually reference them each session. When creating intake forms, if I input the child’s name, the signature section defaults to the child rather than the parent, which can be confusing and requires extra steps to correct. I also find it inconvenient that I have to create a separate profile for parents instead of having all relevant information under one unified family profile. The claims submission feature is not very user-friendly, which makes billing more cumbersome than it should be. Additionally, I don’t like that other clinicians in the system can see how much I bill patients, as it raises concerns about privacy and internal boundaries.

### "I like it!"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, I enjoy using this platform. As I mentioned before, I am about to transition into private practice and I will still use Carepatron with my clients. I like that it automatically sends my client's their links and appointment reminders and you can create your availability for people to reschedule/request appointments.

Pros

CarePatron is easy to use! It has great features for a good price that I had to pay more with other platforms. It is easy to book appointments, manage them, and stay organized with various appointments (such as couples vs. individuals). It is also easy for me to keep up with all of my client's information and send them documents through the portal. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the various templates that are already uploaded to CP! I am about to transition into private practice and will be using CarePatron. I don't use all of the features just yet because for my job you don't have to, but I look forward to learning and exploring more! I have not used the customer support yet, but when I read reviews on Reddit, everyone had positive things to say about it.

Cons

For one of the practices I work for, we have had a few bugs. Either the cameras would not connect (and it was not because of our camera or internet) or it would seem like me and a client were waiting on each other to log in (although we were both actually logged in). There has also been an issue with some of my client's not being able to receive emails to create a portal. However, the pros for me still outweigh the cons. I still plan to use Carepatron.

Carepatron was cheaper. I don't currently pay for CP since I work under a company, but when I was doing research for the transition into private practice, I liked what CP had to offer and presented it to the company.

### "Carepatron Review"

3.0

My overall experience has been satisfactory. I feel like I get a good number of resources for the money I am paying for the platform. I appreciate that.

Pros

I like the price of the services and what is offered with the price. I also really appreciate the transcribed sessions and AI generated note taker. That feature is most helpful for saving time with my practice.

Cons

The system is not as user friendly as I would like. Logging on from the internet is not always easy. Also sending out assessments through the patient portal is not user friendly. Interacting with the patients through the portal should be more accessible. Changing and scheduling appointments is not user friendly.

Overall I've been very satisfied with Carepatron. I very much appreciate that the product is continuing to expand and grow with time, and that makes me feel that my investment into the produce has been worth it.

Pros

Its a very expansive suite with lots of feature I use and appreciate. I also apreciate the community support that I've found with Carepatron (tutorials, facebook group...).

Cons

Customer service is not very responsive at times, and I would like the A.I. tools to be expanded more.

### "Solid, practical and efficient, probably best suited for solo practitioners"

March 20, 2026

Overall, excellent value for money. A few niggles but I can usually find a workaround. Combining appointment setting and patient records has been a gamechanger

Pros

Excellent value for money, responsive customer support and I really appreciate being able to have appointment management and patient records all in one place.

Cons

~there is no capacity to change the default setting of appointments to "unconfirmed" (because of the nature of the centre and our way of booking) which means it has to be done manually every day and that's a hassle. ~there is no capacity to alter introductory letter (to use local language greetings etc) unless through workflow...but workflow doesn't allow different intake options so again, it has to be done manually because different client groups get different intake forms. ~stats and analytics are tricky to get and annoyingly meaningless without introducing 3rd party apps ~no parttime pricing options for part time staff - I have a team of 8 but only 2 work more than 1 day a week! ~it feels like CP was set up for solo practitioners and a lot of helpful aspects aren't available for centre type organisations ~there is a glitch where emails sent from CP come back to our email systems and aren't recorded in CP so we have to manually screenshot and lodge - this drives me bonkers!

Hi Jo, we appreciate you taking the time to share this, and we're glad the value, support, and having everything in one place have been working well for you. The points you've raised around appointment defaults, intake form flexibility, analytics, and part-time pricing are genuinely useful feedback, and we've passed them along to the team. We know Carepatron is still growing into multi-practitioner and centre-style workflows, and feedback like yours directly shapes where we focus. If you'd like to flag any of these with our team directly, you can reach us at support@carepatron.com or through the help button within your workspace. We would be happy to help.

Good - I would keep using even with the issues I have with it. I have enjoyed using Careptron a lot.

Pros

easy to navigate, insurance verification, great value for money, customer support is very nice though not always helpful. I also like being able to send intake packet.

Cons

somewhat cumbersome to bill when I have several CPT codes (would be nice to have a template I can use and just need to provide patient's information, dx, and date of service), I work with kids, and carepatron ALWAYS combines siblings together because they think it is a duplicate due to parent's contact information being the same. Sometimes, they even change the name of a client to sibling when parents submit paperwork for a new sibling. I wish Carepatron would just keep them separate if the client's name is different (if it is a true duplicate, can always just delete). Also, I wish templates can be favorited and accessed whenever I want when I create a note for an appointment. Right now, I can only access last few templates I opened, which isn't helpful. Finally, I wish we could call a phone number into the video calls. I would like to use carepatron when calling interpreters and I can't because Carepatron doesn't have that available.

### "Good patient management system"

March 19, 2026

Good product. It's a shame the price doubled, as I live having a good low priced product. It scan attachments in, it's just a shame you can't store some under clinical and others as photo attachments of the ear from before and after earwax removal.

Pros

I like being able to attach notes. I've used a different system before and had to keep paper notes. I can now scan them in. I like that the customer can pay the fee. I like that I can do everything on the go with home visits and when WiFi dies.

Cons

The system seems to create duplicates. It does not always realize it's done it, so I have to double check it. It's a shame I can't set up reminders automatically to be send out for customer birthdays and when it's flow up time. I have to do it all manually from Google calender. Price just doubled

Hi Frieda, thank you for the honest feedback and for sharing so much detail about how you use Carepatron in the field. These issues are all legitimate gaps, especially for the way you work with home visits and clinical photo documentation. We'll pass these along to the product team. The pricing change is also something we take seriously and we understand how much that matters for a solo practice. We'd love the chance to make this work better for you. ### "Great Platform "

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall it is worth the price for all the things that are available in the system. I have been using it for over a year and it works great for me and my business.

Pros

I like the value for the platform. It is affordable than others programs. It provides a free library of forms that can be accessed and modified to tailor your own needs. It is easy to use for the provider and clients. The appointment management system is easy to setup and manage. My clients are able to utilize the system to schedule their appointments without waiting. The patient records are stored and easy to access. There are some bugs and issues with the system but they are manageable and the company seem to work very quickly to solve any issues.

Cons

The least is the bugs and minor glitches in the system. At times it is hard to get into the provider files/forms.

### "Carepatron Review"

March 24, 2026

5.0

Our overall experience has been great. The team at Carepatron is very responsive and has been nothing but helpful as we've onboarded Users and Clients to the system and configured our workspace to meet the needs of our Team. I can't say enough positive things at this time.

Pros

We have been utilizing Carepatron as a Workspace system to support multiple types of roles including Clinicians and clinical support roles. We've found that Carepatron is very intuitive, easy to use, and contains tremendous value for the work we engage in. We've been able to easily onboard new Users and Clients and have received feedback about the system being simple to use and effective for our programmatic needs. We appreciate that the system is secure, and contains all of the necessary functions we need to ensure Clients and staff feel supported. We also appreciate the opportunity to build custom forms focused on our niche clinical offering for suicide prevention to support our clinical model. Customer support has been phenomenal.

Cons

We really enjoy the system thus far. There are always going to be improvements that can be made or opportunities for development, which would be where our largest "gripes" lie. While we pivotted from a more enterprise level system that was too much for our needs, honestly, the ability to customize workflows and some other functions is something we've been adjusting to as Carepatron continues to work on these development options that are forthcoming from what we're told. Other than us adjusting our workflows based on current limitations to the system, we've valued the opportunity to support Clients through Carepatron

### "Long time user since 2024 consistent 5 stars "

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall outstanding experience and great value compared to competition. Only had to contact customer service once for a tech issue with reminders being sent out and they were very responsive and accommodating

Pros

Carepatron is visually appealing and simple to use. It's calendar features make it easy to understand scheduling at a glance with clear color coded appointment blocks. From the appointment details, it is easy to start a note and issue a invoice. It is handy to be able to have the option to have different availabilities per appointment type. I appreciate having different pop up windows in the app to be able to reference other information, past notes or dates.

Cons

I would appreciate more analytics to better understand individual KPIs and financial overviews. Being able to understand marketing strategies and conversions would be great. While I understand the security behind a new telehealth link each time, it would be easier for clients to have one waiting room link that they could save. I'd love to have more provider notifications and reminders for appointments or when a client joins a telehealth call
