### "Vegas Pro is a good multi-purpose editing tool"

March 13, 2025

4.0

I have a real really good time editing on Vegas but i do use other software to make it look better, i simply restrict myself to edit on Vegas, but i bring the colorful resources from other programs. Today you can edit a flashy video with an app with a few templates of effects and you can do it in 10 minutes and it would take you a few hours with Vegas to get a similar result. On the other hand, you would actually numb your fingers trying to edit a longer video on your cellphone, at the level you can do it in Vegas. On a side note, i prefere vegas up to 18th, it adjusts better to my editing style, after 19th they changed a few minor things that didnt went along with my way of working

Pros

I like Vegas Pro, because you cant easily edit videos with the default set up, and without a lot of knowledge (it helps having some experience using somewhat semi complex design software)

Cons

The FXs are not always great, they are hard to master, you usually find yourself looking online on how to make some sort of effect on Vegas, not all are very intuitive, also the sizing features are rough, especially when you are using different sizes of images. The texts feature is also a bit of square looking, is match easier to generate a video of the text with a transparent background and lay it over.

### "Vegas Pro is underrated SOOOO underrated"

May 10, 2025

5.0

've tried so many different editing programs, and Vegas Pro is easily one of the best ones. (My go-to is Davinci Resolve) I don't understand why it has a market share of only 0.95%. I don't necessarily know if it competes with Davinci Resolve, but it's certainly up there with Premier and Final Cut. More people should use it honestly.

Pros

Sony vegas is by far the best in terms of performance and raw cut editing speed. Also the velocity curve is unmatched. On top of that, it is simplistic, and super easy to learn. Vegas is directed at consumers and as such, it's unmatched. You have more power than the built in Windows editor, but it's not quite at the professional level movie studios. There's a lot of support forums out there, and it's affordable for the average joe-schmoe.

Cons

It doesn't have a massive library of built in effects or transitions. That's not to say you can't get plugins and 3rd party software to fill the gaps. the plugins and effects generated would be more on grade for influencers with YouTube videos rather than movie studios producing CGI for the big screens.

Switched from

[Adobe Premiere Pro](https://www.capterra.com/p/233456/Adobe-Premiere-Pro/)

Vegas is so much easier, and cheaper, to use. Unless you're a movie studio needing professional level CGI effects, Vegas will be able to accomplish most of whatever is needed.

### "“Long-Time Loyal User Concerned About Stability in Version 23”"

February 24, 2026

2.0

For many years, VEGAS Pro has been my primary editing platform, and I’ve consistently supported it by purchasing upgrades each year. However, Version 23 has shaken my confidence due to reliability concerns. As a long-time user, I never expected to be considering alternative platforms, but when stability becomes uncertain, continuing to rely on it feels risky. I genuinely hope future updates refocus on performance and reliability, as the core software has always had tremendous potential.

Pros

I’ve used VEGAS Pro for well over a decade and have always appreciated its intuitive timeline workflow, strong audio tools, and overall editing flexibility. The drag-and-drop interface and efficient editing style have allowed me to complete countless professional projects quickly. It has long been a powerful and creative tool in my workflow.

Cons

With Version 23, I encountered multiple bugs and instability issues that made it unreliable for professional work. After only a few sessions, I reverted to an earlier version because I could not risk project integrity. Months later, many of the same issues still appear unresolved. For those of us who depend on this software professionally and purchase upgrades annually, stability must be the top priority.

### "Vegas beats Adobe hands down"

April 29, 2025

5.0

Vegas Pro is a powerful, intuitive, fully functional video editing suite that everyone from beginners to advanced users love. I was skeptical at first, but tried it out and haven't looked back. So much better than Adobe Premiere!

Pros

It is so easy, simple, and highly intuitive to use. I was up and working in under 30 minutes, and didn't need to Google much of anything to figure stuff out.

Cons

It's a shame more people and businesses don't use it to make it more mainstream.

### "Best video editing software so far"

February 11, 2025

5.0

So far this is the best video editing software in my opinion. This is not too simple of which there is a very limited feature available, but not too complex either, so it is a sweet spot also for first-time user.

Pros

Flexible use, user-friendly interface, great community, huge library and features to choose from.

Cons

Some features use really technical terms, which are a bit hard to understand for common people at first.

### "You are on your own"

October 4, 2021

3.0

The customer service is so poor that the overall experience is frustrating at best. At worst it costs me money because i can no longer sustain a project session without the software freezing and losing work.

Pros

After years of use and watching a decline in stability update after update, I am saying goodbye and helping people understand there is no after-purchase support with this product from MAGIX.

Cons

Once some of the best video and audio software on the market has become bloated and unusable, glitchy, and unreliable. This is a buy at your own risk software. There is NO support. None. Nada. To even get to a support request you have to click through pages of FAQ and suggestions that are also no help before you can actually submit a support request. After you submit your request there isn't even an automatic email that lets you know your request has been submitted. I have used this software for 20 years...and I am now looking for a more reliable company. Because once you purchase, you are on your own.

### "VEGAS Pro: "

June 23, 2022

5.0

I started using VEGAS Pro back in the 00's at a multimedia company. As an audio editor and composer, VEGAS Pro allowed me to quickly edit music to film—the time-stretching and snapping tools are unparalleled—and being able to cross-dissolve video clips simply by dragging them made life so easy. I miss you, VEGAS Pro...

Pros

It's hard to think of any other video editor that allows you to run full audio tracks with VST plugins in-line with your video tracks. If you're an editor who needs to do full mixes while you edit video, this is the app for you.

Cons

Sadly, VEGAS Pro is only for Windows. Since switching to Mac, I've had to stop using Vegas. But I switch back in a heartbeat if they put out a Mac version.

### "A good video editor, but not the best"

May 9, 2022

5.0

Not bad as a start

Pros

I used it back in the days when I started learning video editing. I created few gaming videos that my friends liked a lot. So, I liked how it is possible to create high quality, creative, gaming videos.

Cons

Well, I hated so much the too many hours I had to spend to learn it... maybe the latest updates made it easier, but It was kinda hard to advance.

### "Solid video production if you know what you are doing"

December 23, 2020

3.0

Very happy, however support is a bit lacking when you have questions.

Pros

Vegas offers so many options and features to rival higher end production suites. It includes color grading and advanced chroma ability. 4k video and 360 video also.

Cons

The interface is so crowded on smaller screens. You really need a 24 inch or higher screen to work well with it, which makes it difficult on laptops.

### "An Unmatched Editing Experience"

May 9, 2023

5.0

Having utilized Sony Vegas extensively for an extended period, I can confidently say that it is a powerful and reliable editing tool. Its comprehensive editing suite, intuitive interface, and efficient rendering capabilities have consistently facilitated my creative endeavors. While there is a learning curve involved, the software's user-friendly design helps streamline the editing process once you become familiar with its intricacies.

Pros

Sony Vegas offers a vast array of editing tools and features that cater to both beginners and professionals. From basic trimming and cutting to advanced effects, transitions, and color grading, it provides an extensive range of options to enhance and transform your footage. The software's interface is designed with user-friendliness in mind. Navigating through the timeline, adding effects, and adjusting parameters are all made straightforward, allowing users to focus on their creativity rather than getting lost in complex menus. Sony Vegas has excellent compatibility with various video and audio formats, making it versatile and adaptable to different project requirements. Whether you're working with MP4, AVI, or even high-resolution formats like 4K, Sony Vegas handles them effortlessly.

Cons

While Sony Vegas has a user-friendly interface, mastering its extensive features can take time. The learning curve might be steep for beginners or those transitioning from other editing software. However, with dedication and practice, users can unlock the software's true potential.

### "The perfect solution to obtain high quality videos."

January 31, 2023

4.0

VEGAS Pro became our main solution to edit videos and use them in our marketing campaigns, this platform was perfect for us, we adapted very quickly to the editing functions, in addition, we have a team with very good editing knowledge and this it made it possible for us to get a lot more profit our of Sony Vegas. This platform managed to get us better special effects for our videos, and it also made our videos have a much higher quality than what we got on any other platform. I loved the experience gained and I think continue to use Vegas Pro for a longer time to create videos for my company.

Pros

VEGAS Pro is considered by me to be one of the most complete video editors that currently exists. I liked the way that Sony Vegas allowed me to completely modify the audio tracks of my videos, I was able to modify the tracks, repeat them, integrate new audio tracks in the same video and also add special effects to each track individually, that it was fantastic. I also liked the wide variety of animations available in Sony Vegas, I can add animations to make the camera follow a specific object, add animations to objects so they move from one place to another and many more animations. I also like the way that Vegas Pro allows me to modify the video quality that my video will have when rendered, this allows me to modify the quality that I want to achieve.

Cons

The rendering process will take time depending on the computer you have, this is quite negative since the general consumption of Vegas Pro is quite high, which means that this video editor cannot be used on any computer, since the more objects and the more audio tracks added to a video, the consumption will be higher and it will affect the performance of the computer. Also, Vegas Pro is not available for mobile devices, so the only way to edit videos with this platform is to use it on your computer.

### "My go to rendering engine"

October 25, 2022

5.0

Vegas is the crucial final stage of my workflow and has been for 8+ years. I see no reason to look elsewhere.

Pros

Have used various versions of Vegas over the years mainly for final compilation of a project. I chose Vegas due to it's reliable real-time preview, titling and surround sound capabilities.

Cons

Like all video software real time preview of complicated, multi-layer FX is a problem. I ended up using alternative software to achieve this which suffered less lag.

Reason for choosing VEGAS Pro

Mainly price (especially now AE is subscription).

### "Coming along way and best at what it does"

May 7, 2022

Works great with any windows PC i have thrown at it. Highly optimized hardware!! very efficient for my use case

Pros

Vegas Pro is an all round NLE with great hardware optimization which has worked well with most of my PCs. I always enjoy its fast loading straight to the timeline. The window layout can are easy to customize and can be docked anywhere with also the ability to view various windows with an external monitor thus giving me enough working space.

Cons

The main challenge i have experienced is with having to cut out clips on the timeline. I am more used to pick the specific part using a source monitor by just dragging in a segment to the timeline using the in and out points.

### "Vegas Pro Review"

February 17, 2022

5.0

Straightforward yet strong UI. Huge loads of choices. Advances, impacts. Best utilized for making video related stuff. Moreover you can deal with numerous layers simultaneously.

Pros

Vegas Pro handles all way of source materials, including a wide assortment of video designs, still photographs in a wide assortment of configurations, and so forth It handles them all in a reliable way and results everything in a steady way. Other video altering programs we've utilized in the past regularly disliked blending various sources. It likewise accompanies many progress impacts, video channels, sound impacts, sound channels, and so on Nearly all that you want to do proficient quality video and sound is underlying. With a couple of minimal expense additional items, you can do significantly more.

Cons

VEGAS Pro doesn't consume numerous PC assets when the individual is altering the video and making sound alters, how much RAM it consumes is exceptionally insignificant, in any case, one of the fundamental issues that happen in VEGAS Pro is that it has an intense usage while delivering the video. The delivering of the video is fundamentally applying every one of the changes to the video and changing it over to a steady quality, notwithstanding, this cycle requires roughly 2 hours or max, everything relies upon how lengthy the video is.

For an inexpensive and available editing software, I always use this for its ease of use and accessibility. It is what I use rather than other expensive software that only recognizes a certain type of computer.

Pros

It was easy to use from purchase with all the templates at hand. The visual layout isn't crowded and the tools for editing are understandable from the get go.

Cons

Sometimes crashes for a laptop edit with big size files of videos but the best thing is it saves from the last point of editing.

### "Video for Graphic Designers"

April 22, 2021

5.0

Overall, I am very pleased with Vegas and will continue to use this for the forseeable future.

Pros

Vegas is, by far, the easiest to use video editing software I have come across in 20+ years working in graphic design. The layers function is immediately familiar to anyone that has used an adobe product and the tools are super easy to use and naviagate.

Cons

Vegas tends to bother you with special offers and such at nearly every startup of the software. X'ing out of those can become a nuisance.

Reason for choosing VEGAS Pro

Vegas is just simply easier to navigate and work with than Vegas, no matter how integrated it is into a Creative Cloud workflow.

Tutorials are so easy to find on many platforms. It's simple enough for even an amateur to understand. It can render in a variety of formats.

### "A video editor that will never let you down"

May 19, 2022

4.0

VEGAS PRO is an excellent editor, very reliable, and with many very useful tools that allow us to put any idea, we have into practice. The rendering process and the add-ons that can be installed to the program are key to extracting maximum performance from this editor. VEGAS PRO is a tool with which you can carry out high-quality professional work. It is an excellent program and a great alternative to Adobe's Premiere.

Pros

VEGAS PRO is a great video editor, it offers many very useful tools for audio and video editing, there is a lot of freedom when creating audiovisual content, you can do what you want because the tools allow it. In general, the rendering process is very good, it works fast and you have many options in choosing the rendering settings. The interface is quite friendly and attractive. In conclusion, VEGAS PRO is a great program, highly recommended.

Cons

The learning curve when starting to use the editor can be very slow, and on top of that, update support is currently lousy. Also, many processes such as rendering can slow down excessively.
